We soaked the seed in water for 12h, then put them in paper towel and after 12 more hours we planted the germinated seed.
Medium: Canna Coco Pro Plus with 30% perlite mix
Everything going well so far, we didn't encounter any problems yet, but will cut down on the watering as in only watering when the top inch dried out.
UPDATE (16/11): The problem with over-watering turned out to be true as minor spots with algae appeared over the coco, now we water every 2 days, maybe more for the plants closer to the humidifier. We did some more research and found out is not a good idea to let coco to dry out completely, especially an inch.. we will try to water when the color changes from dark to brownish. Also, the leaves started curling recently and we think it is because of wind burn so we turned the ventilator to not blow directly on the leaves. We will see in the following days if our hunches turn out to be true.
UPDATE(19/11): The leafs are a kind of droppy and we think it is because of over-water again...can't seem to find the right schedule..it's so hard to be a beginner. Also, we added the second light in the tent and now the temperatures raised to 28-30 degrees... probably also because we lowered the light to 45 cm as well.
Some spot started appearing on younger leafs and they start to turn to a yellowish color. Don't know the reason yet. Apart from that we are watering every 2 days with 250 ml of water.
On lower leafs some brown patches started to appear and leafs are turning to a yellow color. Think is either Cal def by how it looks like or it is because of PH fluctuations as last week we changed our PH to 6.2 for 4-5 days and now it is back to 5.9 and under 24h spots appeared?
Hi, In the comments i will let you alink for growing in Coco coir. Picture nr3 looks to me as if you have spilled some solution onto the leaves. And yes I agree the other Picture looks like having troubles with the PH. And just one hint.. your coc never should run dry, all the other recommondations you can read on the site. Up to now no big damage is done. Just follow the tutorial on the site ... greetings
Started LST from 25/11. Also, after quite some time we finally found out that is best to have coco watered to a saturation of 90%-100% so now we are watering with around 1 litre a day looking for a 10%-20% runoff to avoid mineral build up.
Same strain going mate. I am using 2 mars hydro TS-2000 's and have an sp250 for when flowering starts to add to the sunshine. Love these lights they produce rock hard buds too. Good luck . Will be a happy passenger here bud
