As those who follow my diaries you know I’ve been plagued by bronze spots yellow leaves and burnt tips. @b4rns has suggested that I have magnesium deficiency and the House and Garden representative was inclined to agree. So I have defoliated leaves that were more than about 40% affected. She was scheduled for the flowering tent Monday but I will keep her out and in veg for another week.
11/19 she’s looking good now. Thanks everyone!
@biggreens420, yes I battle with my water I think. If not then it’s the nutes. I have a sample of Advancednutrients and will probably grow a Bluecheese and another Furious Candy with it.
Healthy roots is always a sign of a happy plant and those were some super healthy roots :)
Congratulations on the harvest my friend and we hope you enjoy our Critical :)
Can I ask. With that anmont of light used I would have expected a bigger yield.
How many plant under that wattage?
And
Ant idea why yield was so low compared to lumens/light used?
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, the canopy diameter was just under 24” or 1/3m2 so she was capable of doing about two times what I got based on her genetics (625g/m2). I was anxious for the space and harvested her on day 51 and really should have given her another week or two. She was about 80% on her Trichs (see photos week 13 day 51 of flower).
There were 6 plants. Generally she was under the hps set to 600w. There were some growers that had made big deals for people splitting wattage so I just listed everything on full power. Although the 600 should have been more than enough. I have since retired the hps for LED’s. I now run (1) 135w LED above each plant, although I still have 2 plants in each 16x24” DWC with (3) DWCs on 24” centers so there is likely some overlap of light.
I have also looked and there are 4 harvests on GD of Critical Plus (including mine) with an average yield per plant of 54g (including my 117g). I don’t know canopy size oh the other harvests but on mine it would be about 350g/m2. What do you think is the problem? Could it be my nutrients? I will get another brand and grow your Blue Cheese in it and see if I can get the advertised yields.
Looks like some of the tips have nute burn my friend u could start lowering the nutes now get her ready for finishing looking nice and chunky them buds though 💪
@biggreens420, it’s amazing I can grow anything hydroponically lol. Chloramine, Flouride, large particle calcium / magnesium I’m sure they have more bad stuff to but I only know about those 3 issues lol. I am going to try RO water.
@Tazard, I've noticed that once you start exceeding 10 - 15 tops on a single plant it becomes difficult for the plant to produce well without letting the roots get significantly larger. Which means more veg time.
She is turning into a beautiful plant my friend. Now you are 3 weeks into bloom the stretch phase should be coming to an end and bud production is just around the corner.
A fair size plant ready to fill out.
Will check back in to see these buds develope.
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, wow you called budlets within 2 days. I really appreciate that as I knew just when to stop super cropping!!!!
Thanks Mark!!!!
How did Dinafem count flowering time? From 12/12 flip (about 4 weeks left) or from appearance of flowers (about 7 weeks left)?
Hi man! Good luck to your lady.
Check ph tester to be sure of correct value and lighten solution, I think 950 ppm is too hig for this stadium of growth. I do not know your fert, but if you are not chelate molecules you risk that with this weight accumulate in the form of precipitated in your water. check water, and if you look suspended particles, change with fesh water. last tip, never take more than 1/3 of the leaves, 30%, read that this slows down a lot of growth
@Mr_Di, Thanks. And if the big plant science does beat my HG I will certainly consider my options. The whole principle behind the HG aqua flake line was to allow hydro growers an organic alternative. I get the smell and taste of soil grown with the speed of DWC. My harvested buds are the envy of my smoking group! Of course they think I bought them lol.
@ Tazard1,
Interesting Taz ... organic is not the best choice to grow in DWC. Hydro is the best method for causing fast assimilation of nuts. Organic form is not immediately assimilated from plant, if you use mineral fertil you will see a very monster in your pot in 4 week of veg !! Anyway, this is what I know by reading some articles, but I did not test it personally because I use only hydrothermal system (Atami Wilma x 4 pot 12lt). I follow you with interest my friend !!!
@Mr_Di, my fertilizer is like 90% organic (House and Garden) I have no precipitates. When I add Mg to my tapwater my TDS is about 360 so my nutrient density is about 540-590ppm. My pH is steady at 5.7 (5.6 to 5.8 recommended by HG). Oh and I thusly have only removed the main fan leaves. I left all branch fans but will remove them once I have sufficient new growth. I realize organic nutrients in a DWC is iffy but HG stands by it and if it weren’t for the spotting I’m very very happy with HG. Although I will be growing my prize auto blue amnesia (2) with the prized big plant science in one DWC and two more in another DWC with HG nutes. Please if you have any other suggestions please don’t hesitate. Thanks for helping!
@biggreens420, yeah I’m thinking the same. But since I only flush 3 days and have harvest after just 1 day I’ll just wait for the Trichs to start turning.
@Tazard, Yes mate. As she starts to ripen up the stigmas/pistils will start to change from white to a brown/orange colour :)
For the best time to harvest though. Do not go of stigma/pistil colour this you need to examine the trichomes :)
All the best

@BigDaddyK, @b4rns I’ve added a picture of my local water company data. My tap water varies from 8-8.7 pH at about 200 ppm. I have tested Ca content of nutrient solution at 200-240ppm. The magnesium sulfate I am adding is 150 ppm. Do I need a filter or something?
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, Thanks I have changed the water in the reservoirs, omitted the Amino Treatment (highly organic black stuff) from the solution. Ppm is now at 825 (including 200 starting and 150 ppm mg sulfate) pH is at 5.7. I will keep a close eye on them over the next few hours.
@Tazard1, your tap water is quite soft, mine is at 340 ppm.
There’s definitely something wrong with your roots, this is why you’re getting random micro deficiency. Roots are rotted.
