1st Grow - Auto - DWC

Setup : 60*90*140cm (2*3 x 4.5ft) tent (two compartments, one 60 x 60 cm (2 x 2 ft ), the small one is 30 x 60 cm ( 1 x 2 ft ), the wall between the two compartments beeing removable ). -> counting 20cm (8inch) distance to lamp minimum the plant can be 70cm high (2.3ft). 60cm is prefered (2ft) 19 L (5 Gal) DWC bucket with 200Lph air pump ( no automatic top feeding system ) 1000W kingled aliexpress lamp ( which is actually 250W @ the wall according to sheet spec ). carbon filter and a 40W Fan extractor ( air extraction is 320m/h ) EDIT From D5W5 : i do have the real consumption of the setup : lamp (veg mode) : 120W lamp (flower mode) : 85W lamp (both mode) : 200W Extraction + airpump : 85W i'm only using both mode on the lamp for the week 6, as this is the transitioning point veg/flower, and i guess the plant could use both spectrum ========================================== One seedling is NL, other purple bud, both from White Label (auto). one ended up dying ( next week ), and if i remember well, i kept the purple bud. more on this next week. PS : i'm righting this diairy while i'm currently on end of week 5 ================================================ Day 1 ( picture #7 ) : i don't believe i can consider them sprouted, the seed is still attached to the main root. i believe i didn't put the seed deep enough. Watering with tap water ( 7ph ), solution is ready in the bucket at 5.8ph Day 3 ( pictures #8-9 ) : it officially sprouted, the seed is still attached, which is a problem, as we can already see the first node ( #9 ). I removed the seed with a bit of saliva, trying not to hurt the plant, seems to work. Day 5 (pictures #10-13) : the plant look a bit whitish, i'm wondering if it's not lightburn ( EDIT from week 2 : i think it's actually due to overwatering & limescale from my very hard water and humidifier ) Note : i'm really struggling with the heat of the tent. i don't know if the lamp heat too much, or the extractor doesn't extract as much as it should. the humidifier help lowering the temp, without it, it can go as high as 33-35° C ( 90-95°F )

i ended up trashing the plant i put last week in the DWC. My water level was too high, and touching the jiffy pellet, which caused overwatering. D1W2 : i'm still very worried about the size of the plant and colors of the leaves ( almost white ). i increased the distance of the light, put her in dwc ( without direct contact with water ), and manually top feeding once / twice a day. D7W2 : Due to my temperature issues ( lamp heat my tent so much ) i did water my seedlings often. Too often. I'm suspecting the white leaves was due to overwatering. i also have a lot of white dust over the tent, due to my hard water ( limescale, watch the fan #4 ) She looks way better now even if we see some issues with the leaves from previous mistakes.

She Looks way better now ! i'm starting to mist her, and i think she likes it ! #1-2 D3W3 : first 2 roots are there ! D4W3 : some capillaries roots are appearing ( #3 ), but i have some dark spot on my root, i hope it's not root rot, and the water seems hot... D5W3 : water seems to get hot overtime.. it's been now 3 weeks it's the same water ( i'm not doing reservoir change everyweek, it's just a waste of nutes in my opinion, and my plant doesn't show any deficencies/nutes burn. I'm putting a frozen water bottle in the bucket ( i cannot actually mesure it, it's just by feel, i guess if it feels hot when putting my hand in the bucket, it must be around 30°C ) D6W3 : the water temp seems alright, i'm still going to order hydroguard, better be safe than sorry ! Although, when removing the bottle from the bucket, i had some drops of nutes water falling on 2 fan leaves.. hopefully the acidity will not cause damage. D7W3 : as you can see on #5, she looks quite fine, even though we can see some burning from the nutes getting on the leaves yesterday, but it should be a big deal overtime. the nutes solution remains at a decent temperature EDIT from week 5 : the dark spot on roots are actually part of the jiffy pellet

she's growing fine. i expected her to get bigger, to be honest, we will see. i feel like she's having her pistils too soon compared to her size, will see. The temp of the solution remains manageable, i have to put a frozen bottle once a week on average, and putting my lamp on veg mode instead of both mode on, help a lot for heat management.

did some LST again #1-2 before LST #3-6 after LST D5W5 : # 9-10the buds are really starting to show, but they're still small. I wonder how long i can keep her under veg nutes, but as now, she's still stretching ( she's so short, i want to keep her on veg nutes as long as possible, so she will stretch more. ) i heard i can keep autoflower on veg for 14-21days after spotting the first pistils. i installed the scrog, not the same net than in week1 (setup). the black one had way too big square, and i want to train the plant as much as possible, as my tent isn't high enough. ( 135cm/4.5ft ) i guess i can still keep her under veg nutes for some time and change for flower nutes at week 7 so you can scale size : the square of the scrog net are 10 x 10 cm ( 4 x 4 inches ) Size of the plant is a deception, it's 10 cm ( 4 inches ) high after scrog / LST, and i estimate the full size of the stem to be 30-35cm ------ D7W5 : she's stretching nicely, she gained 2-3 cm ( 1inch ) over 24h. it's going to way i want, it's perfect, i'm a happy man ! :D I've managing to understand why i struggled keeping temps at right temperature : at end of D6W5, i started using bloom+veg on the plant, which heat way more ( lamp goes from 120w to 200w, i edited the Week1 as i now have a wattmeter, which allow me to actually know my consumption ). i checked my filter cover, is was COMPLETELY (you can't realize how much) clogged from limescale/salt from my hard water. i won't use my humidifier ever again for this reason stats (with bloom+veg mode on): -before : 35-38°C (95-100F) - 15-20% humidity -after : 25-27°C (77-80F) - 40% humidity note that the average humidity is 40-60% and temp at 18-22°C ( 65-70F ) in the room where the tent stands

nothing special, i just added canna boost, according to feeding chart. next week, i'll swap to flowering nutes

problematic week... Help would be appreciated i neglected my plant for 2 days, as i had to go away, and realized she drunk a lot of the solution, and the water level dropped by a lot, and almost all the leaves went down (lack of oxygen/nutrient, i guess). i completely flushed the bucket, and replace the solution by the flowering one, and after 1-2 days, i've signs of a nitrogen toxicity ( clawing, check #4, on a lot of fan leaves ). i googled quite a bit, and i feel quite stuck : since i have a 2-part solution, i cannot directly decrease the amount of nitrogen in the solution, i guess i have to top up with clear ph'ed water to bring the ppm down, which will decrease the amount of nitrogen, but also of potassium and phosphorus. i have removed around 4 litters of solution and replaced by clear ph'ed water, which should decrease the ppm by 20-25%. i hope it's the right approach... the leaves are dark green, but always as been, i've always assumed that it was the strain, since i had no other signs ( that i could spot myself ) before.. hopefully i won't lose my crop...

i replaced 4L (1gal) of solution by clear ph'ed water and 6L (1.5gal) by clear ph'ed water + pk13/14 (which i never used).. hopefully it'll bring the nitrogen down enough.... i still think it's due to a nitrogen lockout within the plant, as she drunk a massive amount of vegetative solution right before i swapped to flower, and also, i realized there was 1%N et 5%P in my PH down ( ghe ).. As i use tap water in a city, i feel like i need to use more PH down and it's pretty difficult to stabilize the PH of the solution.. i hope i'm using the right approach just for reference, picture #1 of this week is the same cola than #5 of week6 ( which was picture 24h earlier, right before all the solution changes) just consider that the concentration above are just the average i estimate within the bucket, as i replace 60-70% of the water, and didn't change the full res ( which i changed few days ago ). i'm quite unsure of which ratio i'll use for topping water..

removed the CANNA Aqua Flores A & B to reduce the nitrogen levels. Will see what happens..

got a new phone, pictures are going to be better. the nitrogen toxicity seems to have lowered a bit. buds are growing fine will be adding the Canna flores A & B next week

plant is showing some signs of phosphorus deficiencies ( i think ). putting back the basis canna aqua A+B will help. no orange trichome yet
