We decided to try our luck with a primarily coir medium with only a couple tablespoons of perlite mixed in. She was not showing growth at all until I offered some leftover castings from our last tea as well as the tea with it.
To give a little back story, she is actually in a medium that consists of about 95% coir and 5% perlite and topped with a cup of earthworm castings.
We generally add equal parts Peat moss and coir to a smaller amount of perlite which is fine but this will be an educational experience for me.
I've already learned that I will have to add nutes at most or every feeding and shell probably take a little more water but after working those two elements into the equation, I seem to have a happier baby girl.
She's really growing out and showing her sex now. Lots of new growth inside and on top so I'm obviously pleased with her so far.
11/26/19 she had 1 gl of tea made from worm castings/black strap molasses/compost with some cal mag added in for additional support.
I'm still in awe with how much of the organic nutrients she takes without burning.
Easy easy easy
Just feed and water and shes happy with that
I shes so short and I'm thinking that the blue in the veg lights I'm using has prevented her from becoming a leggy twig.
Now that shes about to be ready for the flower room, I'll probably start putting her under the light that offers less blue so that she does a little stretching out b4 she goes into preflower
I know that I had 2 days left b4 it's time to do a new diary but this girl has made remarkable progress in the past few days.
I put her in my flower room with the photos and the taller lights have made a positive impact on her height during preflower.
Still no heads so she should have a little more stretch to come which means she's taking her time which is sometimes for the best with autos.
Easy week. I was expecting her to go into flower by now but still nothing which is good since most of my autoflower strains have been going into flower too early leaving more to be desired with our yields.

Finally in flower!!
Wow she seems like she didn't want to change at all but finally we got heads.
I messed up and put her in the nursery for the night because of a last minute emergency and the cramped space and lower lights seem to have cramped her style but otherwise shes a vibrant, lush, slow growing auto that shouldn't have super small yield like my other girls.
Cant wait to see what happens but of course itll probably be another 7 weeks before that and that will make her a 16 week plant as she was 2 weeks b4 I posted her journal.
At least we know she'll be worth the wait even though I only planted these autos to have something while I wait for photos and of the photos will all finish 1st hahaha
Mother nature is a joker
She's FINALLY moving forward into her flower phase. This auto has really surprised me with her slow growth and monster sized fan leaves. I planted her to be able to have something to smoke while we wait for the photos to finish and the photos are getting close to harvest while she's just beginning to flower.
That being said, I'm happy with her. I didn't want to grow many more autos because they aren't economically efficient for us and now we know that some photo strains can finish as quickly as an auto.
Anyways, if you are going to grow autos anyway and want good genetics Humboldt blue dream may be the best option for your grow.
this isnt my 1st blue dream auto to grow but it's only the 2nd of 5 to pop and make it to this point. Also, my first wasnt great. Both potency and flavor were lacking but I blame myself for not giving her the teas and nutrition that I now know make a difference in the outcome.
I can't wait to see her in my dry rack/tent and curing jars.
Slow and steady she is!!
1/13/20 this is by far the best looking autoflower plant I've grown this season.
The fact that she took so long to flower helped me and now she's got a good size talk with plenty of bud sites.
This is also the first time I've used a bud builder or anything like that for an auto so hopefully it will be the missing ingredient that will send my small potent plants into larger potent plants.
1/5/20 I did remove quite a few of those huge fan leaves in order to give the bud sites more light which worked out well.
1/13/20
I've never seen an auto flower plant with leaves so big. Especially one so compact but her leaves are enormous.
The only plant in my growhouse who has leaves close to this size is my banana kush and they are massive photoperiod plants.
Cant wait to find out just what the Humboldt hype is all about as my first try was full of beginners errors so although she gave over 3 oz of dried bud it was not half as potent as the blue dream I'd tried in the past from other growers.
That being said, most of my plants are better in flavor and potency compared to the buds we have available through our local black market. with my bubblegum kush, gorilla glue, and blue fruit being the top three I've ever had all harvest and cured from my own garden, I am confident in my set up, genetics, and growing ability.
Come on blue dream!!
1/18/20.
After losing 18 grams of wet but big beautiful bud, I decided to give all of my bushy babes a hair cut.
I absolutely hate removing all of those beautiful healthy leaves but the humidity has already dropped by 10+. I also felt like she needed a good cleaning up. All of my plants are getting more air, space, and light so this should be a positive influence for the end result.
1/22/20
Past week was smooth for her but not so much for another one of my girls. Our humidity levels are very high in our region and so bud rot is going to be a problem with my tightly stacked buds and I've had to make some adjustments hopefully they'll be enough to keep this monster from returning.
I ended up defoliating all of my girls to keep the moisture to a minimum and air flow at its fullest potential in our grow area.
Last week she was fed a nice casting/molasses tea followed with a pure water 3 days later.
Today is the 22 and I fed her the regular dose of big bud and bud candy with a side of bloom booster. I never give a full dose as I like to give a small amount per feeding and feed often so that my humidity levels remain low.
I have noticed that for me, when I feed through until I get run off the humidity levels remain high except for the last few days when she's beginning to need more. This hasn't been the case when I give less but feed often.
Her slow growing has not been any different throughout her entire grow. She is still developing at a slower pace but on 1/20 I did notice a few thrichomes beginning to glisten on some of her mid level sugar leaves.
This has been the trend with her so there's no reason for me to believe that she wont continue to develop as she matures. I just can't wait to find out if good things truly do come to those who wait.
Shes older than all of my other plants (photo and auto) with the exception being the 2 mother plants I popped a couple of weeks b4 her.
Anyway besides the massive defoliation I have given her, she's not taken any time and I am curious about what she will give in the end as far as quality.
Moving slow as ever but she is actually filling in better than I'd expected.
She has one cola that's a close 2nd at being my biggest bud (as long as she doesn't get rot we are golden)
Her scent isnt heavy but she does have a few thrichomes and they seem to emit a blueberry scent. I hope that it strengthens as she matures
Shes been slow but hopefully her potential is met and she's worth the wait.
