Back at it again with another autoflower grow. I will be growing 3 strains from FastBuds; 2x Tangie'Matic, a Crystal METH, and a Blackberry. This time I used rapid rooters so hopefully my seedlings will get a good tap root established and not get burned by the nutrients if directly planted in the soil as my seedlins experienced in my last grow. This time I'm using Strawberry Fields from Fox Farm because my local nursery ran out of Ocean Forest so I'll give this a try. So far things look good and everything germinated just fine.I put the seeds in the rapid rooters on Nov 10th and they sprouted and had a nice root development before I put them into pre-watered 5 gal fabric pots on Nov 16th. I'm excited to get some good sativa as all I have is indica from my blackberry grow - I've moved up from 3 gal to 5 gal pots so hopefully the extra soil will increase the yields and I really hope I get a pound from this season. I heard these Tangies really fill up their pots and grow fast so I will likely top them very early on to prevent a main center cola growing too tall since my grow tent is only 6ft high. My guesstimates have me harvesting this in February sometime - cant wait. 😀 Light schedule will be 19 on 5 off - since the nights are cold I'm having the light off during the day between 1pm-6pm so the light will be on at night which will help keep the tent from getting too cold. Right now during veg im using a single GreenGo LED (cheap amazon LED) on veg mode by itself as my Advanced Platinum LED300 has been sent in for repairs as some of the LEDs burned out - I hope it's returned so I can add it back to the grow before these girls get too big.

week 3 and day 16 not much to say really. found several mushrooms growing in my soil - not sure if that is normal for strawberry fields or what. planning to top the tangies and the crystal soon as they are growing well - the blackberry is looking despressing with mirco features and frozen growth. 😢 If its like my last grow it will grow out of it but never yeild much in the end. in my last grow i had problems with retarded blackberry plants and thought it was because i planted the seedling in soil that had too many nutrients so i bought rapid rooters so the roots would develope for a couple days before touching soil to prevent retardation but it seems all my efforts were in vein because this little blackberry looks exactly like plant number 4 in my last grow looked like at this stage, tiny micro features with leafs cupping as if there is nitrogen toxicity - sigh... I guess it's the genetics and not me.

week 4, day 23 I topped the Tangies and the Crystal METH early last week but left the blackberry alone since its not really growing. Im starting to get worried about this blackberry - In my last grow the retarded blackberries were growing more then this one and eventually fruited some decent nugs but Im worried this one is going to become a total failure.. If it doesnt grow out of this retardation soon im going to pull it and plant another Tangie because this is too early in my grow to allow this space to go wasted. I rated these blackberries a 9/10 because I just blammed myself for all the retard plants I had last grow and one came out great but Im having even worse problems this grow with this one even after fixing what I had thought I done wrong so instead of continuing to blame myself Im going to blame the genetics and I wouldnt rate it 9/10 if I was doing it today thats for sure. Sorry kind of a rant. The other 3 plants are doing well but seems like this soil may be a little too hot for them but its not effecting them too bad.

week 5, day 30 Just one picture since there are just vegging but once I get something to show off Ill take more pics. Everything is alright except for the mutant freak blackberry which is getting some height but still looks tiny. The Crystal METH has purple undersides on her leaves and both Tangies are looking good. Theyve all gotten over the shock from being topped and I see pre-pistols forms so next week will be updated as first week flowering.

week 6, day 39 As I suspected the mutant freak blackberry has a sudden growth spurt and accelerated flowering - these will develope some nugs but not nearly as much weight as if it grew right. Tangie A is short so I switched positions and moved the crystal meth back row with the Tangie B and placed a box under Tangie A to keep the canopy mostly level. This is really going to fill up my 3x4x6 Tent and its already beginning to smell so I hooked up the 4inch carbon filter which has been through one grow already and I hope will make it to the end of this grow, i havent really dialed in how long these last but I hope it holds through this grow. I defoilated a lot of the fan leaves since its already so bushy but will go in a 2nd time and clean up all the lower areas. I fed these for the first time so far with Sensi Bloom A & B also I used Terpinator. I skip the Grow series of nutrients because I figure the soil has enough amendments to get me to the flowering stage so until now I've only used the Growers Recharge to promote root growth. There are tons of tops poking up and ill probably have to put up a trellis net to help position all the tops for most lighting.

week 7, day 44 - Sun, December 29 2019 A.D. Everytime I open the tent the smell smacks me in the face and I love it but I have to be careful for where I live. Thankfully it seems my 4inch carbon filter is scrubbing the air well because I dont notice it until I unzip the tent but in all my diaries I've never had a smell this strong especially this early in the grow so makes me a little nervous. The Crystal METH looks strong as champ growing her tops straight up with thick stems and getting nice purple colors right in the center of the flower working its way out expanding as the flower grows. Tangie A is short but bushy (I have her sitting on a box to keep her canopy level with the rest and her flowers are developing the same as her taller sister Tangie B - both are doing great. The mutant freak Blackberry is chugging along as well as could be hoped for with such under developed leaves her flowers are growing fast and have a nice purple but likely will not be dense. This girl if she is like my other retarded blackberry babies she will mature fast so ill probably pull her down 2-4 weeks before the rest are ready to come but that will give them a little extra room and me some smoke since im out. Sorry about the lighting in the photos ill try to work on that. p.s. So im in the market for a new light maybe a quantum board but they are so much cheaper if you buy direct from china but also seems sketchy since Ive never done it. Anyone had experience buying these LED grow lights directly from Alibaba? How'd it work out?

week 8, day 51 Things are going well and the girls are getting some frost. I hope the Tangies are done with their vertical growth, looks like there will be some major forearm size colas if these tops fill out. The crystal meth is about week or more ahead in flowering and its looking frosty. I hooked up my old mars hydro cheap LED for additional light for a total of 3 lights now in my tent (getting warm in there ~80degrees) The blackberry is being smoothered by the Tangies but its still getting plenty of light. I will go through and pluck off lots of fan leaves to help light penetrate. So, four 5 gallon pots in a 4x3x6 tent is a little much but i believe I can manage it - hopefully Ill get a pound out of this grow. I'm running low on terpinator so added some old Bud Candy I had lying around and ordered some Flower Fuel from amazon to see how it does. I have some rusty looking spots on my fan leaves so I added cal/mag.

Things are looking good I just continue to water/feed. The crytal meth and blackberry look only weeks from harvest but the Tangies may need another month for me to get the most weight out of it. I ordered a kingbrite 2-PCB quantum board light w/240w meanwell driver direct from China via Alibaba for only $149 w/shipping so hopefully it will arrive in time to finish the last weeks of flower but it might not get here till feb so I wont get much use however it will be my main driver for my next grow.

i done it again. Soil pH down in the 4's and I tried a little flushing but the truth is I never really flush well and I always try to water just enough so I dont have much run-off because I don't have a good system to deal with it. My saucers aren't big enough to hold much run-off and I have to use a shop-vac to suck it up which is the same vac I use for dry stuff and I don't like mixing it together so I just dont lol and now I'm paying for it. Next grow I plan to buy some plastic totes from wally world and cut the bottoms off and leave about 6inch of side height and use these as flood trays since actual flood trays cost a lots of $$$ just for a piece of plastic imo. This way I can fill it up and even have room for a small water pump to pump it all out. Any other suggestions on how to flush without having to buy proper equipment would be appreciated. You know when I grow in 3gal pots I dont have as much of an issue with this because by the time the soil gets toxic the plants are done and ready to harvest anyway so thats something to consider for next time as well. Other than all that everything is going fine the flowers are fatting up and filling in those spaces on the colas, they are all getting frosty and if I have some cripy leaves thats okay because I dont smoke the leaves, this is 100% personal use and I will turn half of this into wax anyway. No nutes this week

I have pH lockout - run-off reads pH 4.8 (ish). I've added a few table spoons of dolomite lime to the top layer and watered with pH 7.8 water to try and help bring it back up but I'm only a few weeks away from harvest and wondering if you guys think I should do a more or nah?

flush it,use vacuum pump,I have the same situation my saucers can't hold much runoff that's why I'm using some very basic equipment under my pots to hold them above the ground.this makes it easier to catch runoff.that lockout possibly made by amounts of nutes in medium.I would only do a very good flush at this point as buds are ripening.you'll have a good yield but smoke can be a little harsh.flushing is the ideal solution in my opinion. Also if you can check soil ph and see if there is something wrong.Which I don't think there is something wrong with soil.nutrients dropped the ph down that's all I guess.Flushing for a few watering sessions and coming closer to harvest.good luck

I chopped down the freak blackberry and drying it now, not sure If ill bother with a harvest update for it since it was a mutant freak and probably wont give me much but we'll see. The tangie A has lots of burned leafs but the nugs look frosty and still growing wont be long now. The Crystam Meth is falling over and Im keeping it upright with green garden tape but this girl is probably ready to harvest whenever I want but Ive been letting it go because I dry in the same tent I grow and would like to dry the tangies at the same time. I flushed tangie A for about an hour and the soil still read acidic so I gave up and will just water it like normal till harvest. Next grow I will try and get flood trays or make some myself with plastic totes. Flushing is a pita when you dont have a good system in place. Got my new light in the mail direct from china in about 9 days, its a kingbrite and was only $140 after shipping. This light is so bright I think i could run it alone with success, maybe next grow.

I got away with it again woot woot! 👏😎 Tangie A dried = 6.2 oz Tangie B dried = 5.9 oz Crystal M dried = 5.2 oz Blackberry (pulled early for stunted retarded growth) 2ish oz Total = 19.3 oz I had some pH toxicity at the end of flower but overall my goal was a pound and I beat that by a few ounces so im very happy. Where I live 19oz would cost several thousand dollars and to think my entire set up cost as much as 2 oz retail or less its great saving so much money.
