Day 29- Did more LST adjustments. Yellowing seems to have stopped but I have been taking pictures to monitor progress. Start of week 5! Day 30- LST adjustments. Yellowing seems to have stopped. Also cut off lower bud sites. Plants will receive nutes tomorrow. But I think I'm going to start monitoring my runoff pH and see if my issues are due to pH. I don't think they are, but that's one less thing to check off the list. Day 31- Didn't end up watering today as planned. Will be watering tomorrow for sure. Day 32- Watering plant with 1/2 gallon of water dosed at 3/4tsp Big Bloom and 3/4tsp Grow Big. Runoff pH=6.4. So maybe my issue was not enough nutes get. I'll keep monitoring it with pictures. Day 33- LST adjustments and tucking of leaves. Plant looks like it's worked out it's issues. Next watering I'll give another 2ml/gallon of CalMag Plus and water till runoff. After this next dose of calmag, whenever I do water after nutrients once I reach flower I'll be adding two tsp of unsulphered molasses. Plant is still stretching away! Day 34- Did more LST adjustments by bending the main top down again. I also trimmed up a lower bud site that wouldn't get enough light. Also did more tucking of leaves. Yellowing seems to have stopped, but I have noticed a few rust spots. (Calcium Def) Day 35- End of week 5! LST adjustments.

Day 36- Start of week 6! More LST adjustments and also watered plant with a little over a 1/2 gallon dosed at 2ml per gallon of CalMag Plus. Plant seems to be stretching still, but I will probably introduce bloom nutes on my next watering. Day 37- Pretty much limited on LST at the moment since she's starting to slow down on stretching. Pretty much just tucking leaves behind one another at the moment. Day 38- Tucking of leaves away from flower sites. Day 39- Never have messed with defoliation before, but I decided to clean up the lower part of the plant's structure. I only cut off the leaves that were severely damaged and curling due to my earlier calcium/magnesium deficiency I had during week 3 and week 4. I also added a stake in on one side of the plant to eventually support that cola. I tucked leaves to expose other leaves. I counted around 5 "main tops". So far I'm impressed with this grow. If things continue well I'll have a bountiful harvest, I'm sure. Day 40- Watered plant with around 3/4 gallon till runoff. Dosed with 3/4tsp of Big Bloom, 1/4tsp of Grow Big and 1/8tsp of Tiger Bloom. Runoff pH=6.4. Plant looks extremely well considering how my first plants looked. Day 41- Tucking of leaves to expose flower sites. Day 42- End of week 6! More leaf tucking adjustments. There was some hidden flower sites that are still popping up, coming to canopy level. I could a total of eight now.

Day 43- Start of week 7! Leaf tucking adjustments. I think she's about as tall as she's going to get, so now we're to the fun part, watching her put on some weight. I love my ladies chubby. Day 44- Watered with 3/4 gallon of water dosed with CalMag Plus 2ml/gal. Runoff pH=6.4. Also did a little trimming along base of soil to cut out little bud sites taking up energy. Day 45- Rotated plant and did more leaf tucking. Besides trimming up smaller bud sites on the lower part of the plant where light won't reach, I decided I'm not going to mess with defoliating. Day 46- No major adjustments. Day 47- No major adjustments. Plant will be watered tomorrow. Day 48- Cut a few more damaged leaves towards bottom of plant. Which opened more of the plant up. Also watered 3/4 gallon till runoff which was dosed with 3/4tsp Big Bloom, 1/2tsp Grow Big, and 1/8tsp of Tiger Bloom to a gallon of water. I feel like I'm slowly but surely grasping the concept of growing. Day 49- End of week 7! No adjustments besides rotating plant in tent.

Day 50- Start of week 8! Plant is starting to fill out more, bud size wise. Excited to see the progress as this week continues. Until harvest I will be rotating the plant at the end of each day, to make sure I cover every angle. Day 51- No major adjustments. Day 52- Watered plant with 3/4 gallon dosed with CalMag Plus at 2ml/gal. Plant is now starting to put out a little bit of smell. Day 53- Some of the primary fan leaves that first grew on the plant are starting to slowly yellow. Plant receive one or two more doses of nutrients, but not more CalMag Plus. After that is done I will start my flush with regular pH water till harvest. Day 54- No major adjustments. Cola's are starting to slowly but surely put on weight. Day 55- No major adjustments. Day 56- End of week 8! Watered plant with 3/4 gallon dosed with 3/4tsp of Big Bloom, 1/2tsp of Grow Big, and almost a 1/4tsp of Tiger Bloom. The leaves on top are starting to get crystals all over them.

Day 57- Start of week 9! No major adjustments. I will give the plant probably one more round of Fox Farm nutes around day 64 and then start my "flush" for harvest with watering of regular pH adjusted water. But I will not be giving any more CalMag Plus. Day 58- No major adjustments. Day 59- No major adjustments. Day 60- Plant received 3/4 gallon of regular ol' pH balanced water. She's really put on the weight in the past week. Can't wait to see her all fat 😍. May have to get around to staking a few of my side branches later on this week, to support the extra weight. Day 61- No major adjustments. Plant is 15" below lights. Day 62- No major adjustments...but she's getting frosty ❄️ Day 63- End of week 9! Tomorrow will be the last watering with Fox Farm nutes. After that it will be plain pH balanced water till chop. With soil I like to withold nutes for at least two weeks, that way the plants feeds off whatever is left in the soil before harvest. So this plant will go to at least day 78 but I don't plan on harvesting it till day 84-85. Now just to wait and watch her fatten up! 😍

From now on she will be fed plain pH balanced water until harvest. Her buds look they've been sprinkled with trichomes! I'm sure she will only get more "crystally" towards the end. Day 65- No major adjustments just rotating plant. Day 66- No major adjustments just rotating plant. Day 67- No major adjustments just rotating plant. Day 68- She's still getting fatter each day it seems like. Plant was watered with 3/4 gallon of pH balanced water until runoff. Day 69- The end of the week is tomorrow and I couldn't be happier how this plant has turned out. No major adjustments besides rotating plant. Day 70- End of week 10! 2 more weeks give or take a few days, I will be harvesting this beauty. She's still putting on weight. No major adjustments.

Day 71- 2 more weeks give or take a few days, I will be harvesting this beauty. Technically, on day 78 I could harvest her, because that would be a 2 week flush of no nutrients. As much as I'd like to, I'm going to try something different this time around and harvest when a majority, if not all my fan leaves fall off. As you can see some of my leaves are already starting to lose their luster and green starting from the bottom, original fan leaves. Depending on how that progresses, I see myself realistically making it to at least day 80. But have my mind realistically saying day 84. Let's watch these buds fatten up these last 2 weeks! Day 72- Had a little wilting going on when I opened the tent today. She quickly received pH adjusted water and drank up almost a gallon until runoff. I'll keep an eye on her, but she may be drinking more often than every 4 days, now that she's ending her life cycle. Day 73- No major adjustments. Seems like she's swelling up. More of her leaves are starting to drain their nutrients as I had two lower fan leaves fall off today as I was taking pictures. Day 74- No major adjustments. Yellowing is progressing on all of the leaves, which means closer to harvest! Getting excited to cut this lady down. Day 75- No major adjustments. Day 76- Not watering due to harvesting tomorrow. Hoping to increase resin production. Trichomes are all milky and a few amber that I've seen. I checked multiple bud sites all over her, so she will be chopped down tomorrow. No pics unfortunately. Day 77- Harvest day! Let's just say I think this is 10x better than my first grow. Yes, the buds will lose weight once dry enough to put in jars. But I think what I love most about this time, is that my buds are actually dense. As. Fuck. Can't wait to show you, my gromies, this harvest once she is dried. Expect an update soon, when she goes into jars. That's when I'll upload the nug porn. End of week 11, and what a better way to end it with a harvest and a Patriots loss. Texans ain't got nothin' on us. 💪

Grow Questions
KCChiefers
KCChiefersstarted grow question 5 years ago
I know breeders timeline for seeds is unrealistic, but this plant has gone two weeks past expections for seed. Not that I'm rushing it, but does she look ready? I'm only curious so I can have room in my tent for the next two for my perpetual setup. Thanks in advance! 😊

I've had autos go 2-4 weeks past the breeders estimate before and on the other hand my green crack was ready in less than 9 weeks from start to finish! You have to do what the plant and your instincts tell you to do, does it look ready, does it compare to other grows of same strain, do the trichomes look cloudy/amber when viewed as close as possible? So many different conditions and variables!

Due to my fault she had some minor issues first few weeks. Ive got two more seeds of this strain left that I'll have to try knowing my setup now. She's my second actual harvest and I couldn't be happier. It's more of a don't get off the couch for a few hours kind of high which I love. It tastes sweet 😋 I can't wait to see what the cure does for her.

@KCChiefers, I normally grow autos. I have a few on here. If you ever want any advise. Feel free to give me a yell. I am pretty comfortable in coco and with autos. I got 3 or4 oz from my BG. I forget. She was a short bushy one, but nice solid buds. I use the GH flora grow trio my self. I finally have that dialed in pretty good so I can feed the autos a little more. I let mine finish her stretch. About 3rd week of flower. Then trim every thing under my scrog, stuff you know will not get light off. Once I am about 2/3rds in. I will start removing fan leaves. They are just there to help the branches grow. Little by little. I will remove all of my large fan leaves and a lot of the second set. I never touch the leaves connected to the buds "sugar leaves" This gets light to the lower buds and lets all the energy go into it. If you follow my Bubba kush. You will see what I mean. I started trimming her down last night. I will take pictures each night. To show about what I take each time. She is a super bush lol. I cut and she replaces them with even more. Good luck with your grow here. I am fallowing it closely

I am looking at this and you have at least 4 weeks to go. This will build up some really nice bud in the next 2 weeks. Any idea why she came out so small? This is a normally small plant. But it turns out pretty nice. I will add my BG to a journal here and tag you to give you an idea what I mean. I grow in coco as well.

@KCChiefers, I have used coco ince day one. it is a little more work. But it gives me a little more time with the plants. And your yields will be considerably more in coco. What I use is pretty basic Coco bricks, Perlite, GH flora grow trio for nutes. I use AN bud ignitor and AN Overdrive. Cal mag and you are ready to roll. You will also need a run off tray and a stand so the tray can sit under it. I made my own using an old bed frame and some wood. Added wheels and They are working out great. I hope mentioning other sites is ok here. Here is what I am working on now. You can find me over here a lot. I am in the lab there a lot. but come to the free side often. https://support.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/t/not2sure-and-she-loves-me-she-loves-me-not/37570

@justright, getting ready to take a look at it now! Have you also used coco as your medium? I've been interested in trying coco as it shows hydroponic results in terms of growth and all. Its just I'm so close to finally dialing in with Ocean Forest I think I'd be overwhelmed doing a side by side comparison. Besides nutes/pH what other things do you have to do with coco? I really haven't been able to find a good, detailed guide.

@KCChiefers, Thanks. I am looking at where you are and where mine would be. I am going to see if I can upload the complete grow in one shot. So you can get an idea of what I got. MSNL have always given me great seeds. My big bud auto I did from them gave me 9 oz dry on my very first grow. I am in coco though and not soil. Autos seem to really like me. I am just starting to grow photos. I will get the grow on here now though. I will tag you in a just a few

@KCChiefers, you should try some on Sunday. We'll try some the same day we start the cure, several days after, and then as needed. I would suggest that was well that way you can understand the profile change during the different stages of the curing process. You may find that you enjoy it more after a short cure versus a long cure. Two weeks is what people say, but it's not a rule that needs to be followed.

@KCChiefers, I think we are all in the same boat there. Every plant we grow gives us a little more info for the next. My Critical purple is finally showing that she may be a little monster like the first I did. She is finally starting to build buds sites at a good rate.

@KCChiefers, what are you doing to determine if the soil is "dry" or not? 4 days this late in the game seems really long between watering. Not saying it's not possible, but it sounds excessive.
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommented5 years ago
@KCChiefers, well one thing I have learned is to NOT use a human schedule to determine what the plant wants or is doing. The finger method is also somewhat subjective in my opinion. We all don't have the same fingers and sense of touch. My suggestion would be to pinch the soil with all your fingers and pick it up. Does it fall loosely out of your hands? And by loosely I mean does 90%+ fall out of your hands. Or does it stick together in chunks/clumps? If it's falling away, the soil is dry. If it is trying to stay together there is still enoguh mositure in the soil. Waiting until the top layer is bone dry is also drying the soil futher down which can have a negative impact on water flow and nutrient uptake. You also risk harming the roots that should be trying to grow near the top as well.
KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented5 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, honestly just been watering every 4 days as a schedule. I haven't really checked besides lifting the pot. Do they require more watering later in flower? I should probably go back to the finger test.
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommentedweek 95 years ago
@KCChiefers, have you defoliated any of the fan leaves pushing in towards the middle of the plant? If not, you may want to consider leaving the exterior leaves on to keep collecting light but removing anything facing the inside that is covering up flowering sites. Then you can get more bud growth without sacrificing your light collecting capacity too much. Later in growth, the fan leaves aren't as important but can still be functional for light collection and nutrient feed as you begin the flush.
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommented5 years ago
@KCChiefers, now that I look at the photos again. I can't say if you should do more defoliation. I can't see enough of the flower sites to see what if anything is blocked. If nothing is blocked and you are happy with what you have don't cut anything, Just keep tucking like you are. Tucking really is better if you can avoid having to defoliate. I've been tucking as well but will have some defoliation coming up soon. I'll need to get rid of the dead weight and help expose some areas.
KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented5 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, I have not done so, because I was scared I'd shock it somehow and because I've never done any major cutting besides what is on the bottom of the plant that wouldn't get light. Should I cut a few every day or just trim all in one day? I would say about 20-25 days she'll be done. There's maybe a handful of leaves that I would like to get rid of. Everything else I was able to tuck out of the way
