Ashbash Light: HLG 288 V2
Soil: Canna Terra Pro
Pots: Fabric pots
Nutes: General Hydroponics Flora Trio
Tent: 60cmx60cmx120cm
Was planning on running a few more pots in small pots but in didn't really work out.
Running zkittlez again from Fastbuds which was one of the better ones before, hopefully the temps will help a bit this time, not too hot anymore.
I started them in small cubes and left them in there a bit too long, about a week, so they're smaller than they could be by this stage. Just left them to it so far, no nutes yet.
On day 21 I have topped one of the plants at the 4th node after the single leaf node which I have removed on both plants.
Side branching is strong already. I will be applying some lst to balance the canopy later in the grow.

Ashbash Hey growdiaries,
Another week and more progress. #1 has developed several tops and looks very nice. Flowering has started and pistils are starting to shot out of both plants. #2 is gonna remain untrained as I'm interested in seeing the difference in yield. If you're interested too follow along!
I have noticed that with the air pots dry out far quicker than the plastic pots as I am having to water everyday. Where as the plastic would take 2-3 days.

Ashbash Hey guys,
Definitely into flowering on both plants now. On #2 I have done absolutely nothing but let it grow. On #1 I have topped at the 3rd or 4th node (can't remember) and from there I have just left it. No LST even. I really am interested to see the difference in yield.
More onto bloom nutes now as it seems to be well into flowering. Using recommended dosage on the GH bottles. The plants behind will get their own diaries very soon!
Both plants seem extremely similar otherwise so looking like stable genetics here. Hoping for a good week of bulking up now.
Peace.

Ashbash I think they're both at the end of the stretch now so bulking up time.
#1 has kept a pretty even canopy with just one topping and no LST so pretty happy with that.
#2 has very high side branching so it may edge out #1 in final yield.
I haven't been watering as much as I should have as I'm in need of a drip tray large enough to cover the bottom of the tent, but giving them some everyday and they haven't looked too dry yet.
Feeding every other water now as I have seen slight browning on the leaf tips which I understand to be a sign of burn especially prevalent in autos.
Still looking good I think!

Ashbash Lots of yellowing at the bottoms so I have started feeding every time I water. Still a while to to go I think. Both are bulking up and frosing up too.
Not a huge smell coming from them but hopefully it'll come out soon.
Still not sure which one will yield more very interested to see.

Ashbash Very much at the bulking up stage now. Smell is getting stronger but still a few weeks to go till finishing.
Going easy on the nutes now as there are signs of nute burn. 2 cycles with plain water to one with half strength nutrients. #1 is looking like it is gonna be a dense one, #2 not so much yet but still a few weeks to go.

Ashbash Both plants are into the final maturing stage now I think.
#1 looking to be more dense, #2 longer and fluffier.
Very temperamental with the nutes, shows signs of burn and deficiency, I think I'll leave with just water from here on out.

Ashbash Another week has gone by. Still not seeing any amber trichomes but a lot seem to be going cloudy so hopefully another 2 weeks MAX for this one.
Both plants are looking kinda deficient but only a week or two left so not too fussed about that. Both plants smell very sweet and are both the same smell too which suggests a nice strain stability.
Still unsure which one will yield more, one being topped and one left to its own life.
Hopefully next week we will see some amber!
Hey Growdiaries,
I have uploaded two trichome videos on week 10, but i think I am hopless at reading trichomes hahaha.
Do the trichs I have uploaded look clear or milky? And how much longer should I expect these plants to run?
Many Thanks,
Ash
Topping worked out better. lost weights as i closed notepad before the damn website failed on me. They are 69.3 total.
Strains decent, very sweet and both plants smell very similar. #1 definitely has the edge though.

Ashbash good strain very similar each time so must be relatively stable. will top all future plants as this worked out very well. Not just yield but bud size and quality too. Sorry for lack of pics site is playing up and wont let me upload and i cant be bothered to type out the whole description again. and it didnt save any of it in the restore button π
Plants are looking great, Do you find the Fast buds responds well too topping? I super cropped mine this time or others call it mainlining, Topping is similar too this, Zkittlez from fastbuds has exploded in growth since I did this. Check my diaries out if you get a chance. Happy growing
@Bashgrowsitall1989,
Hi dude,
I found they responded very well to topping. I topped one and left one this time and there was about 15g more off the topped one.
They were also much more uniform and dense as all tops were equal distance from the light instead of just the central cola.
I topped at the forth node for a total of 8 main tops.
Hope this helps you out.
@Ashbash, I accidentally super cropped mine as I knocked.my fan over and it decapitated it. But now u say this, my canopy seems too be staying even and if I get a half Z more I'll be so happy! Thanks dude
Beautiful girls man. Your temps seem a bit high though for flowering. Should be around 26ish? Anything 28 and above can seriously hurt the smell, quantity and potency of your trichomes. Just a heads up, don't want to see all your work get hurt.
https://www.growweedeasy.com/temperature
@Dr_Green_Thumb_420,
Thanks bro, appreciated. Temps are somehing I have struggled with my whole experience and these are the lowest I have ever had haha.
I'm running a 140CFM 4" inline fan for extraction, with the pipe pulling from right on top of the light. Another less powerful 4" inline bringing in new air low down.
Any suggestions as to helping with temps? Ambient outside the tent is between 18 and 25.
@Ashbash,
I'm assuming your running your fans nonstop then,
- Try to make sure your intake is down low outside your room, sucking in the cold air from down low.
- Try to make that cooler air come into your room, and come out of your piping up high to mix with the hot air, or above your fan, so it can mix with the warm air.
- Make sure your exhaust is on the other side of your room, up high to suck out the warmest air in your room.
If this doesn't help, you have a few options that I know of.
- Change the size of your fans or add a couple more to move more air.
- Change your lighting to LED's, my room runs at 18'C with only the light on.
- Make sure your running CO2. At higher temps, C02 will enable the plants leaves to absorb more light. I use an ExhaleXL in my room.
She is more and more beautiful, the inflorescences seem to be very good, especially the central one she hoped will give you great satisfaction, maybe I would remove that yellow underneath but ask someone else that I am really beginner
@TegridyCal,
Thanks man, the central cola on the untopped one is quite far now!
And I think the yellow leaves are my fault. I was using Biobizz allmix for soil before and it has quite a lot of nutes in already to last a few weeks. This time I used Canna Terra Pro and I understand now this has less food in for plants. I did not realise this and did not give the plants any N for a few weeks. Should start to look better now I am adding some N.
Thanks to everyone for the input on the trichs. I have decided to pull the plant now. Should keep developing for s little while so better a little early than late.
