Week 5 - Despite my efforts to control the nutrient issues, she is getting lighter in colour; looking a little yellow. 😡 She is still growing though. I wonder how well she would grow if the nutrient balance was perfect. I will continue to make small adjustments and hope for a happy medium.

Does anyone have an idea what is happening to this plant? The lower leaves looked like calcium deficiency so I gave her cal/mag. Now the upper leaves are looking bad. Is this light burn or a deficiency?

Yellow between the veins / veins stay green / at the base of the plant = nitrogen (N) or magnesium (Mg) deficiency The large dark areas + the random yellow dots worry me more. Could spider mites. -> Check for small brown-ish dots under the leaves, like @LaBOSSANOVA said. Under magnifying glass, you should see microspiders. I recently had an invasion over my basil with similar symptoms. Neem oil killed my basil in a few days by the way. One of your pictures shows a leaf with a much larger dark spot: brown necrotic tissue. Have you under-watered by any chance? Upper level, some of the the veins are affected also, as it shows with some scorched tissue - could be a mild calcium deficiency.

Week 8 - She seems to be doing a bit better with lots of water and generous nutrients. I tried to find any evidence of a pest infestation but so far, nothing. The other ladies in this tent don't look like this. She's still growing taller and filling out. Her fan leaves are huge! I wish the affected leaves looked better.

@Scribs scribed “Neem oil killed my basil in a few days by the way.” Neem is vile stuff and offensive for several reasons. I’ve had excellent results using a tea tree oil spray. Kills bugs not plants. And doesn’t stink. It has a pleasant aroma to my nose. I mix in enough until the spray smells strong but not cloying, like neem. Foliar spray at lights out to avoid spotting.

@Scribs, yeah man i'm with @growdoctordc on this one , dont really get why people will defend neem to the grave on this site but hey we're all here trying out new things so....

@growdoctordc, I learned that the hard way indeed. I'm trying to use organic products only and read somewhere it was safe - it's even OMRI listed but as I read somewhere, even OMRI isn't a label that's 100% trustworthy. Will stay away and try your suggestion instead next time. Thanks dude 👊

@THCandME, well if the problem is not really spreading then it could be the pests hatched, ate and left (or got killed via a normal wet/dry cycle) - not seeing pests is always good news growmie glad to hear it!

@CRiSPrGrow, So far I haven't seen any sign of pests. I will keep looking though. Thanks for the response!
