Making and Using Your Own super soil Update
6th March 2020
With six weeks of flowering completed , I feel I am getting close to the pointy end of this grow.
Apon inspection the buds are absolutely drenched in trichomes that are already clouded in colour.
Despite my natural adversion to defoliation I chose to remove all of the lowest branches that had next to no leaves on them at all.
I also pulled off the dead and dried fan leaves that were all over the plant but left anything still with green on it.
If the buds are going to put on any real weight it is between now and the next two weeks that they will do so. This means I will need to keep the soil fully loaded with
everything the plant and it's root system can get . In order to do that I will add more Dr Greenthumbs Bud n Bloom in small amounts each week
I will collect more Fresh worm castings and add them to the soil. Plus I have a fresh batch of my mix of Fulvic Humic and Amino acids that will be added to the
Super Dynamic Tea I am concocting . This will be a mixture of "High Tea" which is a concentrated compost tea . Mollasses , Seaweed solution , Comfrey Tea 5L that was brewed
for the past 4 weeks . This will all be mixed together and Diluted to a suitable EC Level . If the ph is too high or too low I will adjust accordingly with the use of Ph up or Down.
The pictures Ive posted for this week I took last night in an attempt to show off the Frostiness of these Buds. If anyone has any Camera setting tips for me regarding Dark period Flash photography of Buds etc please leave them in the comments section below π that would be a great help .
Once again I would like to thank you all for reading this weeks update Please leave a like if you liked it and I'll be back again next Week π Stay safe Everyone
Agreed! So frosty. This is my first round in a living soil bed. I found trying to ph my tea or solutions caused more problems anything. Even with my Tap water around ph8 I have officially retired my ph pen.
Super diary , I was first seduced by the "super soil" stuff because I'm a lazy grower and Super soil is a benediction for us lazy peoples but when I finally get to your week 10 description I can see that you are using STS π that's very very interesting because I keep telling to peoples who want to sex reverse with colloidal silver : Use STS !!
Nice job bro , I'll be around
Very nice wolf. I really like ur set up. That is gonna be a serious harvest. I love the idea of tea. Med in tropic is big on tea, as well as soil microbes. Great for soil borne pests too. Hope you are getting through this hot weather ok mate and no fires in your area! Cheers wolfβΊοΈπΊππΌ

I'm located Southern Hemisphere. It hit 44 Degrees here yday. Mine to is outdoor. it's still growing. Would you know when yours will flower. Mine has been in Veg state for like 9 weeks.
@Grey_Wolf, I did this last year with a Jack Herer that i didn't want to get too big. Down fall was the high temps during Feb when she was flowering...turned out ok though.
@CryptoBudMoonBoy, hi crypto and wolf. I feel as though we are in similar areas. The plants should start flowering when the daylight hours get closer to 12 hours. The website dateandtime can tell you the exact light schedule for your region. I had a few seeds flower early on me this year necause i planted them early. Rather than see if they would re veg, i used the method bringing inside in a box every night 12hrs from sun up. Although a hassle, i got great results and kept the plants smaller too which is good for stealth. π
She really does loik like she is flowering early....looks great though. My Bruce Banger seems to be showing a few signs too...seems to be a bit of a trend down under.
@MagicMan, @Shooey It sure is interesting I know from my situation it cannot be the soil as I have 3 plants that don't have any signs of flowering and 4 that are budding all 7 are in same soil mix.
@Shooey, interesting thoughts. Last year i grew a Jack Herer and that flowered early too. I tend to predominantly use Premium potting mix so maybe there is something to it.
I dont mind the early harvest but can have issues with high temperatures.
Great reading! I am all about the soil. To add molasses provides food to the micro-organism colonies in the soil. They will reproduce at an increased rates and create a more healthy and stable environment around the root area. They are responsible for transferring the nutrients to the roots. I see you boosting your soil microbiology. You can also make your own effective micro-organisms using a fermented rice wash and bubbled with molasses. Ask google.
Also Look into comfrey Tea for flowering ππΌ I see you got the kelp going already:)
All in all itβs great to read guys are taking care of their soil πͺπΌ
Nice one!
@Grey_Wolf, Perfect. I usually half fill a 50L dustbin drum with fresh comfrey leaves and then fill with water. Keep the lid closed otherwise flies go mad and leave in the sun stirring occasionally. After 3-5 days It should be ready. The ppm should be around 1200 so when you water your plant go 50% tea to water. Comfrey is extremely hardy so you could dig up and chop pieces of the root off and plant is elsewhere to get more going.
@HappySeedsResearch, Thanks for the tips I love anything that will boost my soil and I actually have comfrey growing in my herb garden because I was gonna make
a balm out of it (supposed to be good as a body rub) Guess I'll be making a tea with it now instead π Thanks again mate
After experimenting with magnets, I plan to add magnetic iron grindings to my next soil mix. The magnet has had definite positive effects on my amnesia auto crop. The magnet seemed to accelerate and exaggerate the phases of growth. There has been many studies on the effects of magnets and plant growthπ
@Grey_Wolf, yeah you should research it! the only thing that is weird is you cant predict what effect the magnet will have. on my 2 amnesia autos, one is short and fat and all the branches grew even with the main cola, on the other it is massive, leggy but filling in finally..the colos are almost a foot long!!!
@Grey_Wolf, hi lads. It is a tough one. The new growth looks lush and nice and rigid. Would it also be droopy or concave leaves if it was overwatering?? Lots of crispy leaf tips, could it be burn?? Man it has been brutally hot this summer, not sure about you but I am now getting insane amounts of rain here in sth east qld. Seriously challenging conditions at the moment. Hope you get to the bottom of it wolf, I watch with interest mate
@Med_in_Tropic, yes a friend sent me 2 peyote buttons a year ago and I now have about 8 growing which apparently will be ready in another 12-18 months??
I just like to grow cacti so they are more a hobby than a source of hallucigens π
Fantastic outdoor grow and a good diary. Fun to read. The supersoil tips are defenitly things I'm going to use someday.
Enjoy ur harvest and stay safe there friend.
Even tho didnt fatten up like you wanted or expected, They look great!!! I love the smoke from the peyote wifi. Almost like taking anxiety medication. Very calming.
