Live in Australia and the summer climate is horrendous, however I have a wall mounted fan in the veg area. Planted 3 seeds 1.5 cms deep pointy end up, each one in a small bottle lid sized pot. Lay a thin piece of grodan rock wool on top of the radical root when it emerged (within 24 hours), dropping distilled water on the seedling when it dried out and then transplanted into a container big enough to stay hydrated for at least 72 hours before dehydrating at the end of the first week. No nutrients applied until transplant half an asperin tablet per gallon of distilled water used to increase germination rate and extremely low dose of Äccent seed and clone plant starter" nutrient as Canna Start is not yet available in Australia. Strain types are:
Picture 1: Nirvana Seeds - Regular - Swiss Cheese
Picture 2: Royal Cookies - Feminized - Royal Queen Seeds.
Picture 3: Jack Herer - Feminized- Blimburn Certified
All purchased from GYO seeds with 100% germination rate.
Will collect pollen from the Swiss cheese if male or attempt cloning for all if they are all females to determine viability for breeding.
Have cuttings inherited from a long line of cuttings currently growing which I am unsatisfied with (Currently Finishing grow is in profile pic). Have fixed the multiple disease issues with them finally which included and was not limited to:
- Black Mould on the surface layer of the grodan that caused the trunk to rott and had Pythium Ultimum fungii growing in the root medium. (Had to remove infected top layer of rock wool, treat with chloramine in the infected mediums, steralize grow area).
- Broad Mites and Russet Mite infection:
-- Initially treated by using Kelthane on a terranium and putting the plants inside as cuttings)
-- After a 3 week period, put plants in a fresh terranium with the following beneficial predatory insects:
--- Lacewing
--- Californicus
--- persimilis
Old strains are:
- Northern lights - Sensi Seeds
- Barneys Farm - Triple Cheese
Healthy bud formation has resumed in those strains and mutations of leaf, reduced yield and reduced health has been resolved sufficiently.
After fixing the issues, I resumed with Great White, Rhizotonic and Roots Excelurator as per my usual routine.
All planned Nutrient for the complete Cycle are listed.
Had major surgery and wasn't as collected as usual, burnt some leaf with nutrients. Applied 500 lacewing eggs and 100,000 californicus eggs to promote good health. Sprayed top layer of rock wool through with water in a pressure sprayer to remove any algae growth and reapplied nutrients.
Removed leaf burnt by nutrient and applied oxy plus (hydrogen peroxide 50%) at low concentrations, indole acetic acid, napyhalene acetic acid and low concentrations asperin at week 3.
Had a small topple with the swiss cheese. Noticed about 5 hours later and misted it twice with plain water to recover from the shock. Lost a few nodes but it is growing again and it is still too early to sex the cheese.
