December 16: Placed seeds into rapid rooters for germination.
December 21: Seed has germinated and broken through the top of the rapid rooter.
December 22: Planted in seedling pot.
December 23: Start of mild fertigation.
After 1 week of growing, the Blue Dream'Matic is doing well. I am going to slowly increase its nutrient solution strength and lower the lights to dial in some stronger growing conditions. It has been enjoying 1-2 times a day fertigation so I think the coco medium is draining well.
I have included a time lapse of the first week of growth. I am working out the kinks of the setup, so the video is a bit messed up towards the end, but it shows potential that I am going to keep working on!
Day 8: transplanted to a larger pot as a significant number of roots were growing out of the seedling bag.
Day 9: It looks like there has been a cal-mag or root issue affecting the first set of leaves, which grew in while there was a lower nutrient EC. The new growth has not been showing the same issue, so hopefully the issue has been resolved.
Thanks for reading, and happy growing!
There is some damage on the first set of leaves, I was thinking it's either due to fungus gnats which I am in the process of eliminating, or an early cal-mag issue from before I increased my nutes. Any thoughts?
I have had a few seedlings that have had similar issues. Strange because other seedlings in the same environment didn't show any issues. One time my pH runoff jumped to 7.5 in fresh perlite and it caused similar damage. I think some seedlings are more sensitive and have a harder time adjusting to pH and nutrients. The new growth looks good so she should be in good shape now. I have never had a calcium deficiency earlier than around week 4 with the Flora so I don't think that is your issue.
As of day 14, I am happy (although a little worried) about how the grow is going. Growth continues to be somewhat strong and new growth seems to be healthy, but the issue that affected the lower leaves has left me a little spooked. It has continued to the second set of leaves to a limited degree. I have mostly eradicated the fungus gnats who moved in from some houseplants so that is a plus. Poor transplanting technique could have also damaged the roots, as the issues became most apparent after potting up to 1 gallon containers. Although I have been very careful to PH my nutrients after mixing, I realize I was not PHing at every fertigation and may have missed some early swings upwards in my watering reservoir so I am now being more diligent making sure the PH is consistently under 6.2. I am hoping that these actions will have fixed whatever issue was occurring, but if there is anything I may have missed please let me know!
I have a expanded the timelapse to contain all the growth up to day 14, and will continue to re-edit it for every week. Thanks for reading, and happy growing!
Day 16: began LST to expose/encourage the new branches. There has been plenty of healthy new growth, so I suspect that the leaf issues were due to temporary PH fluctuations in my watering reservoir that went undetected. Thank you to those who answered my grow question! 👍
Day 17: FIMed the Blue Dream'matic, which has been growing strongly. I went a little more aggressive because in the past I have messed the technique up by getting mostly leaf instead of the new node of growth. Hopefully it goes well this time!
Day 18: more LST will wait as my smaller plant Staples do not have enough hold, when I transplant to 5g pots I will continue.
Day 20: a few lower leaves continue to show the browning. I will transplant at day 21 which will give me a chance to check the roots, and I will be adding h202 to my watering bucket to prevent pH swings due to bacteria (which I believe has caused the issue). The plant is still growing vigorously and is branching well post FIM.
As of day 21, growth is strong and I have begun LST. I have transplanted to a 5g grow bag, as the roots had fully populated the previous 1g container.
The lower leaf browning has continued, despite a nice healthy root system (confirmed during transplant), so I have added h202 to the reservoir. This should prevent bacterial growth/PH swings, and will hopefully this will fix the issue.
Overall, my nutrient mixing and fertigation schedule is the following:
-H202, wait an hour.
-Liquid silica, wait an hour.
-Cal-Mag
-Micro
-Grow/bloom
-Humic acid
-Rapid start
-Confirm EC (1.3)
-PH down to hit a PH of 6
Then I fertigate to 10-20 percent runoff. I fertigate 2-3 times a day, as the coco/perlite blend is very resistant to overwatering.
Thanks for reading, and happy growing! 🌱👍
As of day 28, the Blue Dream'Matic has been growing very vigorously with tons of branching. I have added to the plant's timelapse to include the previous weeks growth. I have begun training it wide, and considering it is not yet in its flowering stretch, it will be a pretty good sized auto. I am sticking with around 1.2ms/cm during fertigation as any higher than that produces leaf tip issues for this plant.
Any lower leaf issues seem to have stopped and all the new growth is healthy. Its very close to switching over to flowering, so I will be transitioning the nutrients and updating the diary to reflect that.
Thanks for reading! 👍🌱
Day 30: flowering has begun.
Day 33: very stretchy, it is getting to be a pretty large auto.
As of day 36, the Blue Dream'Matic is turning into a monster. She's the largest autoflower I've grown at her age, despite sharing my 6sqft tent with another plant.
As the growth has been so healthy and the transitioning to flowering nutrients has been smooth, my main concern is how much stretch is going to occur in this early flowering stage. The new nodes that are budding are getting tighter so I'm optimistic about the quality and yield come harvest time.

Note: Cannazym is used once every couple weeks at the full dose, but not in every watering due to the use of h202 which would render the enzymes ineffective. The Cannazym is mixed in its own solution along with other nutrients on an as needed basis.
As of day 43, the Blue Dream'Matic has gotten taller than any other auto I have grown despite the LST and FIM I had performed earlier in the grow. I have had to support the FIM location as a vertical split has just begun to form. I have two stakes pushing up the opposite branches where the split has formed so hopefully that prevents any further progression.
The buds are slowly swelling, and will likely form nice long colas. I have paused uploading my timelapse as I sort out how to get more consistent images of the swelling buds. I believe I have sorted out my clamp mount, so hopefully I will have some better results to upload next week.

As of day 50, the plant is pretty much just putting on flower weight and developing terpenes. It is starting to smell of citrus and blueberries which gives me high hopes for it's final taste.
It is also starting to heavily produce trichomes, even on fan leaves and stems. This is beyond any autos I have grown in the past, so I have to give credit to the genetics and the hydroponic grow method.
As long as nothing horrible happens in the next few weeks this plant is going to produce a really nice harvest. Thanks for reading! 🌱👍
Day 53: it has developed a strong and distinct smell of blueberries.
As of day 58 the grow is still going well! The buds are long, fragrant, and firming up. The blueberry aroma is getting stronger and stronger, and is just a fantastic terpene profile.
I have been dialing up my bloom nutrients, and added raw yucca as a wetting agent. The yucca will be essential for my auto feed setup next grow, so I want to use it a bit with my hand watering first.
The plant still has a ways to go, at least a few more weeks. But I have high hopes! Thanks for reading 👍
As of day 63, the Blue Dream'Matic is bulking up well and getting closer to what may be a really great harvest. The smell off the plant has gotten unreal, both powerfully sweet and distinctly of blueberry. The buds are completely frosted with trichomes, and some of the pistils are turning orange, so the plant is getting closer to harvest by the day. I am sticking with this current nutrient profile until the final few days of ripening when I will run extra enzymes and perform a short flush.
Thanks for reading!
As of day 75, the Blue Dream'Matic is getting close to harvest. It is showing its age with a bit of yellowing on some of the leaves, but most are green and healthy for good bulking and ripening. The smell continues to be enchantingly of blueberries, and all the buds are covered with nice sticky trichomes.
I have dialed the overall nutrients down to an EC of 1.1ms/cm while still running high PK for ripening. I will begin a short flush in a few days, and likely harvest around day 80.
Thanks for reading!
Day 80: I have taken some final photos of the plant outside my tent before harvest. The nugs are long and dense and I am very happy with how far they have come. Most of the colas are around 2.5in in diameter, and I am guessing the yield will be at least 4oz from the single plant. I have been flushing the last few days, and everything is ready for the plant to be taken down.
I definitely did not expect the density of growth and foliage, so in the future I am going to try to do a more thorough early defoliation of low branches/larfy buds. But I can't complain because the Blue Dream'Matic had been a fantastic plant to grow.
I included some bonus pupper photos, and will be posting a final timelapse later when I post harvest info. Thanks for reading, and happy growing!
Overall this was an excellent grow. I was not prepared for the huge growth and yield from the high frequency fertigation growing in coco, and the genetics of the Blue Dream'Matic. I should have defoliated it a bit more earlier on, just due to how vigorous the growth was. But I will not complain with 200g dried bud from 3sqft of tent under a HLG100 light. Hats off to Fastbuds for the great genetics. I really feel like my growing came together at a new level this time, and I am excited to experiment with even more improvements next grow!
