What a week! Topped on day 25. I am hoping she puts down some good roots in her new 2 gallon fabric pot. I had to settle with only 50% perlite. I had to add coco to retain moisture. Looks like she's going to develop nicely. Wishe me luck!

Has anyone tried growing in perlite? I know I'll need to monitor my nutes. I'm not seeing much difference than growing in co co except the co co seems to retain more moisture.

Hey there so you're right about it being similar to using coco. Soiless is nice cause you usually know exactly what's going in. Are you going to use like a Dutch bucket or a drain to waste setup? With the perilite only setup i think the biggest problem is watering enough and the right nutrient amounts. You'll likely need to water 2+ times a day and usually feed every watering. If you could mix enough water for several days at one time it'll save you a lot of time. If you did the D.B you could water 3-4 times a day and use around 1tsp/gal of your various nutrient lineup. Good luck with the grow, I'm excited to watch the process. ✌️

Learning... I am thinking about repotting into 2gal fabric, 50/50 perlite/coir. Thinking the roots are gonna want alot of room to stretch. Any advice?

yes, repotting would a nice idea.If 2gal will be the final pot,I wouldn't veg more than 4 weeks as it is coco and won't mind everyday feedings.so roots will get bigger if you keep it in 2gal too long,in order to avoid root bound you'll have to move to another pot.just water the pot with some amount of nutes then transfer the plant into it.

I grow in 100% perlite. It doesn't hold moisture well so it doesn't work very good in regular pots. You can mix it 50/50 with vermiculite and it will work great. Perlite works great in setups like dutch or hempy buckets.

@diggemms420, I did a diary on a solo cup challenge. I used perlite and it was a lot of work just keeping it watered. I wouldn't do it again without adding vermiculite to hold more moisture.

@Wicked_Stix, I'm running low on space. I'm thinking about using a solo cup of perlite inside a slightly larger ceramic pot w/ drainage hole. I'm going to have to switch to 12/12 soon so, we'll see. I'll be happy with a half ounce or so.
