Popped after a day in rooter plug, placed in perlite with plans to grow in perlite only. Any concerns to expect?

Has anyone tried growing in perlite? I know I'll need to monitor my nutes. I'm not seeing much difference than growing in co co except the co co seems to retain more moisture.

Hey there so you're right about it being similar to using coco. Soiless is nice cause you usually know exactly what's going in. Are you going to use like a Dutch bucket or a drain to waste setup? With the perilite only setup i think the biggest problem is watering enough and the right nutrient amounts. You'll likely need to water 2+ times a day and usually feed every watering. If you could mix enough water for several days at one time it'll save you a lot of time. If you did the D.B you could water 3-4 times a day and use around 1tsp/gal of your various nutrient lineup. Good luck with the grow, I'm excited to watch the process. ✌️

She's looking good. The new setup is proving itself as a proper propagator. Who would've thought: an old aquarium, string LEDs, a usb fan , old plastic bin lid, all bound for the trash, would prove to be so handy. Rethinking the 100% perlite. Got some new 2 gal fabric bags. Seems like it may be a better home for her to stretch her roots. I'm thinking 50/50 perlite/coir. Week3 pic r fkdup. Gotta learn to open diary before taking photos. Any/all advice is welcomed.

Learning... I am thinking about repotting into 2gal fabric, 50/50 perlite/coir. Thinking the roots are gonna want alot of room to stretch. Any advice?

yes, repotting would a nice idea.If 2gal will be the final pot,I wouldn't veg more than 4 weeks as it is coco and won't mind everyday feedings.so roots will get bigger if you keep it in 2gal too long,in order to avoid root bound you'll have to move to another pot.just water the pot with some amount of nutes then transfer the plant into it.

What a week! Topped on day 25. I am hoping she puts down some good roots in her new 2 gallon fabric pot. I had to settle with only 50% perlite. I had to add coco to retain moisture. Looks like she's going to develop nicely. Wishe me luck!

Easy week. Impressed with how well she's growing. Should I train her branches with some LST? I wanna get a decent yield from her.

Going well. Everything seems to be on track. Doesn't seem to need too much water yet.
