Week 1, concluding the first week of vegetating (germinating): Hi(gh) guys! New project, taddaaa!!! This time from the G.D. – sponsor 420 FastBuds, the Smoothie Auto strain, and not to forget my first time ever growing autoflowers, so wish me luck. Plant D is going to stand below inside the tent, next to the Gold Bar’s. E and F are going to stand one floor above them, like my vertical grow’s before. I now only going to use LST, and maybe some defoliation or a single topping, but I’ll have to see how they develop first. But it’s clear that I can’t go all-out with stressing these plants. On the other hand, the Gold Bar is already growing within week 9 at this point, and next year coming the end of March these smoothie’s will be ready, and then the Gold Bar still has to go another month, how cool is that? At least I have to see for myself, kind of hard to believe that they’ll catch up! Planning to harvest on 8 March, but there is some room to wait more if necessary. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 2, concluding the second week of vegetating: Hi(gh) guys! Everything is going by the book, I think! No XP with auto’s so its finding out for myself now. I’d tune back the hours of light to 20 hours, and it’s going to stay there for at least the vegetating period. This week helped the seedlings with a mild spray containing just 0,1ml OGL, 0,2mlMR and 0,5ml HAP, applied when the surface around the seedling dried up. Furthermore they got two proper waterings, each 250ml. At this point only additives and no nutrients, first the seedlings can feed on the soil as is. The photo’s where taken today, on Monday that is. This next week they will receive their first mild dose of nutrients, already growing in the third week now so let’s see how they react on that. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 3, concluding the third week of vegetating: Hi(gh) guys! End of week three, and this is where i can start to see the differences between photoperiod strains and Fastbuds Smoothie Auto. Looking back at the GoldBar, who started 7 weeks earlier, at this same point in time they look much different. In the same week they were transplanted into the 18 liter pots and at that point I was removing very small offshoots (axillary buds) from the nodes of unwanted leaf-sets, and sparing the upper ones. The axillary offshoots from the Smoothies are much farther at this point, forming actual small branches, and besides pinching them from the Smoothie Auto is not very smart anyway. This week they really kicked into growing, and I think next week there is going to be massive progress, looking at the rate their growing now. Still hard to believe that in two weeks’ time flowering is going to kick in. I decided on topping the two plants who are going to move to the upper part of the tent, and the one Smoothie that’s going to join the GoldBar’s can just keep growing. If space is going to be an issue I can use some LST on them. Last Sunday I’d made a container of nutrient mix with a mild dose of OGL, just 0,7 ml. Today they got their first dose of 250ml with 2 ml OGL. Next week I’m going to continue with 2ml’s if they react good on it, and then it’s just another two weeks of growing, ending with 3ml’s OGL before switching to OBL. In less than a week time I should also add Fast Buds, only I’m still out. The upcoming week I’m starting with Big Fruits also. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 4, concluding the fourth week of vegetating: Hi(gh) guys! The Smoothie auto’s did kind of an umbrella-thing, suddenly there’s an entire plant! At the beginning of this week little hairs appeared showing that there already into transition, and at this point the little bud beginnings start to show, and it’s just four weeks. That’s indeed fast. Let me point out once more that one plant is going to join the three GoldBar’s at the ground floor of the tent, and the two smallest Smoothie’s are going to stand on the first floor. Therefore I’d decided to top them, to avoid getting into trouble with the height. The biggest one has a little bit more of that on the ground floor, and today the biggest plant already joined them. After that the GoldBar’s transitioned into flowering, I’m going to up the lighthours to about 13 hours and 45 minutes, and after the two plants are also standing on the second floor, back again to 12 hrs 45 minutes. This is because I’m going to let the Scroggmaster 360 start that hour earlier, and it will provide light onto the lower plants faking some sort of sunrise. This round the plants will stand onto a roster instead of the top of the Scroggmaster 450. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 5, concluding the fifth week of vegetating: Hi(gh) guys! The Smoothies are doing great! And come tomorrow flowering has officially started, everywhere the little crowns have appeared. There is also quite some differences between the three of them, plant D grows mostly in the same way as plant F in a pine tree shape, albeit that F isn’t topped, it certainly has the most grow power. F stands inside the tent for a week now, and stretches more because of the blooming LED’s. But on 10-01 F was 20cm, and today it has doubled in size in just 9 weeks’ time. Plant E has beautiful developed side branches, begins to show very nice scent and is very nice plant in general. They are at this point exactly on schedule with the GoldBar’s, which is funny because they are already 12 weeks on the way. The two biggest ones are already 60cm height, pot included, but I guess that next week plant F doesn’t grow another 20cm’s? Does she? I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 6, concluding the first week of flowering: Hi(gh) guys! Funny how a single decision can get you into trouble big time! Three weeks ago I’d decided to top plants D and E, plant F being the strongest grower and the biggest plant I thought if she would stand next to the big goldbars there would be enough height to grow. Yeah, but no! Plant F’s total height sits at 1 meter, leaving not enough space for the ‘upper-decker’. In just two weeks it’d grew from 20cm to 73cm! So I decided that F has to go, unless anyone has a better plan? But I don’t want to risk stun her entirely. Besides, plant D has a nice bushy structure and I suspect it to stretch a bit if placed under flowering lights. I’d kept it underneath blue until now, so it should have some growth left in it? We’ll see! That means that plant E is left as sole upperdecker! At this point, plant E has the fattest budsites, although it also has grown underneath the blue growlights. At least it has enough space. E also has a really sweet smell, but you must rub some leaves to smell it at this point. Week 6 they got their first little dose of Organic Blooming Liquid (OBL), that’s going to be upped for the next week. Week 8 sees them already working towards the finish, and I’ll start giving a little dose of OMP by then. So, for recordkeeping, as from the start of week 7, plant D sits next to the goldbars inside the tent hoping to get one last grow spurt. Plant E remains under blue until later that week (when I find some time), and plant F is decommissioned until further notice but is put back underneath blue for the time being. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 7, concluding the second week of flowering: Hi(gh) guys! Five weeks to go, and everything is looking up now. Plant F did grow so fast in just two weeks, and that kind of took me by surprise, and I didn’t have the energy at the time to properly act on it. A friend here on GD asked me why I didn’t just train it? So after giving it some thought how I’ll be able to do that at this point, I came up with the solution as seen on the pictures. At this moment the plant is secured with two fish lines to the pot itself, holding straight the base of the plant. The horizontal sticks form the base to pull the upper part into an S-bend. I’d also finish a proper shelf inside the tent for the upperdeckers. So at this point all three Smoothie Autos are standing inside the tent, and exactly like planned, hooray! Last week I’d also got a little stock up for the Green Buzz Liquids products that were missing. It was the last weekend that the plants were supposed to get Fast Buds, so I’d made a batch of solution containing 5ml/l FB, a high dose to kick start flowering. Also upped the Big Fruits to 2ml/l. Plans E and F both have a great smell, only D doesn’t show much signs that it’s going to deliver something nice, maybe a late-bloomer? Nice to see all that big plants standing together inside the tent. It’s going to be a nice harvest! I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Week 8, concluding the third week of flowering: Hi(gh) guys! I find it useful to stay critical towards myself because otherwise I’m afraid my progress goes backwards. So a little recap is necessary: I went into this auto-flower adventure unprepared, finding things out as it goes along. These last months I haven’t been actively reading about growing because I’ve other things to worry about right now. So after receiving some constructive criticism I must conclude that I would do very well by growing autoflowers onto coco instead of soil. That’s no biggie, Biobizz’s got coco mix as well so next time that’s my choice. I’m growing inside 18 liter fabric pots, and I’d already learned about those air-pot’s that they dry out much faster than a closed plastic pot, and I guess the same goes for fabric pots. Besides, I was growing inside 11 and 7 liter plastic pots for quite some time, and watering every other day or even two days was not a big problem. For 18 liter pots, the plants seem to drink exponentially more than in smaller plastic pot’s. If I give 1000ml one day, end of the next they are completely dry again! At two occasions I thought to give 1000 and ignore them for two days. That was a big mistake, two autoflowers lost quite some lower leaves and also some fan leaves, that where D and F. And E and F also show little spots on the leaves. Please look at the pictures for that. Then pheno D made me happy at first by the way it was growing, only it doesn’t really smell nice and the bud is small. And like I said it lost much leaf. All in all I don’t think in the end there’s much quality-bud coming off this plant. But maybe it’s a late-flowerer?? Plant E is small, but has got the strongest smell and the fattest buds, that pheno looks healthy apart from the spots, but is going to deliver nice candy for my sweet tooth ;-) Plant F I’m really happy I didn’t decide to cut it down but train it instead! The main cola on this plant is impressive, only the secondary’s look underwhelming at this point. The pheno smell’s also really sweet. Only point of concern are also the spots, although less than plant E. For the rest of the time they get 500 ml’s a day, and one or two times 1000 ml’s. Then I can flush with Ph’ed solution without nutrients, just additives. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 9, concluding the fourth week of flowering: Hi(gh) guys! Another three weeks to go and the Smoothie autos will have a total of 12 weeks on the counter, of which 7 weeks cover the flowering period. I gave some room to the planning, because underneath my LED’s I must always flower a week extra, but end of the first week of March is in my agenda. Hooray! I’m already on medicinal oil for a month now, nothing to vape, so this harvest will be most welcome. And this time I have enough oil left for a couple of months, so I’m planning on letting the Smoothie auto cure properly first. Speaking of oil, please check on my new round that’s being started next weekend. I will grow 4 big plants from a RQS strain that has very high medicinal value. People who could have benefit from using oil often have problems with the initial psychedelic effects from cannabis, but certainly from the incapacitating effect that Indica dominant strains have. CBD is the chemical counterpart from THC, and neutralizes the effect but not the medicinal effect. Danceworld has 12% CBD and 12% THC (75% Sativa), and activate both type off cannabinoid receptors in the body. Sativa dominant means that there will be more activating for the body and uplifting for the spirit. Please check on the new round to see how I turn it into medicinal oil in the end, because I’m planning making an video tutorial since I’m already quite experienced in the matter. Last week I stated that this round is not optimal, but for a first time growing auto flowers inside, second time in total I’m not disappointed. Plant D is improving but still the bad pheno, plant E really has fat buds! I’d made some pictures with the FastBuds package next to it, and they look really fat and tasty. Plant F has an impressive main cola, check the pictures and see for yourself. The only problem now is that I keep losing a lot of leaves. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 10, concluding the fifth week of flowering: Hi(gh) guys! My biggest lesson this round is do your homework. Many mistakes were made this round resulting in the autoflowers looking all quite worn at this point. I’m no expert on how certain deficiencies look, and certainly no autoflower-expert yet. But it’s intriguing to realize you can do quite well in half of the time. I did however decided to look this one out for an extra week. Although the pictures sometimes seem white-ish, in fact most of the trichomes at this point are still clear. And the buds are still fattening up more. Later this week I’ll start the flushing period, but today they got there last round of normal water with this time only the additives and not the nutes. I can however give an idea about the end result, when I look at plant E then I want to vaporize it immediately. All of the buds are nice and really fat, glistening with resin, and have an amazing sweet smell. Plant D however ’s still the bad pheno, low resin productions and not a pleasant smell. Plant F is the biggest and the smell is pretty much comparable with E, only the material on all of the side branches had to little light and will be going into oil. The main cola however? Well, just look at the pictures! ;-) I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s progress next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

Week 11, concluding the sixth week of flowering: Hi(gh) guys! One week to go until harvest. I had two weeks planned for flushing but I think one week is enough. At this point most trichomes are becoming milky, and I’d spotted a few amber colored ones too. The buds are fattening and the big main cola on plant F is really impressive. Plant E is also really fat and heavy. Both have almost the same strong sweet candy scent. Plant D is also fattening up and is producing some more resin, but the smell stays not really great. Last Monday (today Wednesday) I’d started flushing with Clean Fruits, giving 1000ml and Tuesday another 500ml. Today I’ll let them dry out again, but tomorrow or the day after they will get a dose of 2ml/l Big Fruits and 5ml/l Humic Acid Plus. That will give them a very sweet and sticky finish. This update covers last week, then each plant got 2500ml nutrient solution, only containing additives and no nutrients. For this week it will be the same amount, only the last 1000ml will be the BF + HAP solution. Next weekend I’ll look how far they are, and the next update will be harvest. I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Smoothie Auto’s harvest next week! Grtz, Budcrack ;-)

As for growing auto’s, really cool to grow such crop in so little time, so I’m going to focus on them more. This round was not ideal, speaking in terms of the ideal condition for growing autoflowers, but it did show me the potential. This certainly isn’t my last time! Almost half of the bud are fluffy, so I’d chose not to further trim the bud because there isn’t much to be won by that. The compact buds from plant E and the big one from F are going to be cured for a month at least. The rest is dry enough already to vape.
