I've always been a bit of a sativa hound so I've been looking forward to this grow. Like the Blackberry she's a day behind the Gelato in breaking ground. Hard for me to call these vegging now, it's almost like we should have a "seedling" stage that comes before vegetation.
Todo lo que quiero para xMas es un nuevo contenedor!... and you shall have one. This will last a couple more weeks until we move to a final 5 gallon fabric container.
Feliz Navidad
Growing at about the same speed as the Gelato it appears. Had my dogs out to pose for the next pet contest 420 FastBuds throws out there, because it's probably inevitable. Weather is turning a little drier thankfully. Just nice to see the sun for a bit.
This baby is growing much more compact than the Blackberry - which almost seems to be stretching already by comparison. Slow, steady and symmetrical here compared to Gelato too.
January 11 > Time to upgrade the container to the final one (5 gallon fabric). The roots were more bound than I thought they would be... but we're off to the races now. Ugraded lighting in tent by adding a couple KIND light bars running vertically.
This baby is growing the most symmetrical of all my current FastBuds. She has caught up to the Blackberry vertically in just a week, more than doubling in size last week. I'm basically manually pulling on leaf sets for LST. She's very pliable, but the stalks seem quite strong.
Man this baby shot up like a rocket this week, growing like 11" this week alone. I've had to adjust my lights based on her growth and stick everybody else on something to get them closer to even. Slow down girl!
This baby keeps causing me to raise my lights every week, or every few days is more like it. She's calming down a little compared to last week, but we're up to 32" now which is more than a foot taller than hre friends so those babies needed something to lift the a bit. I used some handy photo storage boxes.
Looks like we've topped out vertically. The buds are starting to put on a little weight now. Still lots of space for light to get to the lower buds. This girl should turn out nice.
Starting to fatten up a bit, but still nice spacing between buds with lots of air flow. I'll grow another one of these babies outdoors this summer for comparison purposes, but this looks about as good as I can do
indoors in winter. Winter actually allows me to control the grow temperatures better than summer, where it will sometimes bake inside my grow tent on hot days. I don't air condition my house where we live - so we have to take what we get sometimes.
February 24 > I'll probably flush this girl next week, as I think she's about a week behind my other FastBuds. One or two more feedings probably. The lower branches are actually starting to take on enough weight to sag a bit.
Finally reached a point where I provided support for one of the lower branches that was starting to hang a bit low. Simple bamboo stalk down the side of the fabric container.
I was tying to decide when I should pull the plug on this girl and whether I should add another week and then I realized I was a week behind updating this diary, and I decided to give her one more light cycle and then probably harvest her after an extended dark cycle Wednesday. She's still drinking so she's not quite done yet. So I'll take some final live photos tomorrow.
I gave this girl an extended dark period of about 48 hours before I harvested her because she was the only tenant in my tent at the time. Last gave her fluid on Monday so she's been drying slowly for 72 hours too. I'll probably let her hang for a week or so before I prune her further.
March 17 > Happy Saint Patricks Day in honor of my grandma - but I'm afraid the surreal reality of coronavirus has overtaken current events. Living in the east bay area of San Francisco as a retiree (former State employee) we appear to be on the front line of the US, possibly just behind Washington state. I like to call it (California in this case) the front line of REALITY, compared to the rest of the US... but reality stopped being amusing a LONG time ago. We've just entered "shelter-in-place" orders as of today. Gonna get weird going forward.. but not worried.
I'm prepared and well stocked. I'm glad I took up meditation awhile back - this is when we need it.
