Clones are rooted and transplanted into red solo cups for vegging, 1 to 2 weeks to establish root structure. Transplanting to 1 gallon pots by week 3. Vegging for another week or so then forcing flower by week 5/6.
Roots are now well established and growth rates have really started ramping up on all the clones. All 4 clones looking great! Since this is a 2 plant flower run, I will be selecting two of the best clones for flower. At least 2 more weeks of veg. before flowering is initiated.
Clones have moved up to 1 gallon pots for 2 weeks of veg, then transplanting to 3 gallon cloth pots by day 28 of veg. Following the final transplant, one (or two) more week(s) of veg depending on how much of the SCROG net has been filled. Then its flower time! Expect 2 to 3 more veg updates, then flower starts.
After watching the Grow Round Table Ep. #56, I figured it might be prudent to veg these plants longer to develop their root structure. The largest flower stacks I have gotten on any plants was when I grew plants in 5 gallon hempy buckets for 50 days. Planning on 35 to 42 days of veg time total for these girls.
Also reset the mom as she was completely root bound and I do not have a dedicated nursery (yet).
Not much to see this week. Didn't take pictures since I was busy with the holidays and harvesting 3 plants. By the end of the week, the plants were moved into the flower tent under 15/9 lighting. Over the next several days, I will be transitioning them to flower by increasing the dark period by 15 minutes every day.
I have not had the pleasure of growing a genetic specimen that exudes as much funk as this cut does in veg. Waiting for them to fill out the SCROG net more and then on to flowering!
Day 34 update: stems are starting to green up. Transplanted to 3 gallon pots.
Started flowering after 40 days of vegetative growth (counted when transplanted into planters from cloner). Stretch has started; pruned shoots that will not make it to the canopy.
Day 6 of flower: more canopy management, removed short shoots and shoots that were crowded out.
Stretch really started now, each shoot is gaining an inch to an inch and a half each day. Lots of tops and I may be forced to prune more of the canopy in certain areas.
Stretch is slowing down. Flower set has started. 2 to 3 more weeks before bulking begins!
Aroma is beginning to overpower the carbon filter. Very funky smell which I attribute to the Stardawg male.
Feeding at around 700 (+- 5%) ppm. Runoff measured at 900 ppm, little over half a gallon of runoff this time (last two feeds had minimal runoff).
Rocking and rolling. Easy sailing so far; keeping the feed at 0.75 tsp per gallon on the MegaCrop (left plant) and MaxiBloom (right plant). These babies should yield nicely!
These twins are a week into calyx stacking. At the end of this week they should begin to fatten up real nicely! Think they are beginning to fade as well, despite feeding at 1.6 EC, keeping the pH between 5.7 and 6.0. Appears to be minor Magnesium and Potassium deficiencies.
Pushed the feed strength to 2.0 EC on day 38 -- both plants responded extremely well, clearly stacking many new calyxes in just 12 hours. These girls are REALLY impressive!
Smell is really escalating now. Terpene profile is being expressed more and more each day. Starting to smell like sweet and fruity chemical cleaner. Absolutely caked in frost and looks real greasy with resin. Bulking begins 💪
Nearly at the finish line now. Roughly two more weeks until the harvest window. Aroma is pretty close to a sweet, artificial strawberry flavor. The strawberry flavor is pretty delicate, but its definitely there.
Day 51: Better pictures. Aroma reminds me of sweet strawberries and fermenting bananas.
Day 55: Bud porn galore. 7 to 10 days before harvest.
Down the final stretch folks. Colas are leaning hard and smelling wonderful -- artificially sweet berry flavor like strawberry or blueberry gummies. Thinking the acerbic or diesel tones will come out more during the cure. You can already smell those too.
Harvest week! I don't check plants for wet weight, especially when the harvest was this large! My current scale is woefully inadequate for the task, much to my disdain. Harvest report on dry weight to come in exactly 7 days!
Aroma has now changed to more lemon-berry and ammonia or bleach-based cleaners. Definitely not the strawberry tasting Bruce Banner #3 phenotype, but delicious nonetheless!
Effects are more on the functional euphoria that slowly fades to stoned peace. Best hybrid high I have experienced yet.
Great 4th grow! Thank you to Gu of Greenpoint Seeds for offering impeccable service and top notch genetics for a far more reasonable price than any other breeder.
