Week 1 RQS Amnesia Haze. My first crack at RQS. I read that this strain is good for outdoor and can handle some warm conditions so look forward to seeing how it goes
Everything seems to be going nicely for Amnesia Haze. A bit of a slow starter but it has been very hot. Getting a good 10 hours direct sun now and handling this well. Very small in the leaves though. Transplanting to 25l pot this week and moving to the backyard
Amnesia haze seems to be ticking over well enough. Something ate at one of the top leaves, not too sure what it was though, looks a bit bigger than a bug and no other damage to be seen. Maybe it got half way through and passed out!!🤣 First topping this week
Amnesia Haze is doing nicely. Really healthy and enjoying lovely conditions with high humidity and afternoon rains. She sulked for ages after the topping,, pretty much did nothing for 3 or 4 days before deciding to get going again. The tops came up a little unevenly but they are quickly catching up. Most of the growth has been in the last 3 days, some nice changes which have me excited about the next few weeks.
This week was not so good for this plant, it has gone a light green and even a bit yellow on the bottom leaves. I’m thinking it’s heat stress. I transplanted her into a larger 25l pot, and noticed the soil was very warm and damp and gluggy. I have been moving it every afternoon so as to keep it in the sun, but I think it’s just too hot at the moment. New soil, and a shadier place this week so I am hoping to see her health improve. As a result the growth this week has been pretty poor.
Good week for Amnesia. Not huge vertical growth but a combination of new nutrients, repotting and kinder weather has seen a lovely recovery for her. You can still see the yellow and lime along the bottom with nice deep green new growth arriving quickly. I feel like I lost a few weeks but back on track now. Cheers grey wolf for some good advice. I have tried organic potting mix this time, and have found it has caused a few problems. It doesn’t hold feed well so I really needed to up the feeding. It also congeals and is not great for allowing the roots good access to oxygen. Definitely won’t use it again. Feels like the right time to add the LST now. Cheers all👍
I think I’m back up and running with Amnesia, after tying down last weekend, new bud spots have popped out everywhere and the plant is finally starting to fill up. Still no real signs of buds yet but can’t be too much longer. I had to keep her inside for 3 days due to seriously heavy rainfall and now heavy humidity, it has been a challenging summer for sure.
Week 9, and another good week for Amnesia. I only tipped once and the 2 main tops have grown through the top, so I pulled them through the sides to keep the canopy flattened out. Amnesia is really branchy. Lots of little branches have surged out of the main 2 branches since I tied it down. I’m not sure what to expect really, I hope all these branches become good bud spots In the end but for now its pretty congested in the canopy. I would say up till now amnesia seems to need more regular attention than others for sure. Buds really can’t be too far away?!?!
Another really good week for Amnesia. Not as much rain, and although the weather is a bit more mild, it is still really humid. Increased the feed but trying not to over water as well. No signs of crispy leaves so she must be loving it. The first buds have finally appeared very close to the end of Feb. I have heard Amnesia takes ages to flower, if so it would be late April harvest. I would love to put it through before then, as I am hoping to go on holidays. Time will tell. 🍻 cheers
What a great week for Amnesia. It has had a real stretch, punching through the screen and the 2 tops have grown even higher over the side. Amnesia has a really long flowering time so I guess I can expect to see things settle down in coming weeks, but it is fun now to watch the vast changes happening, especially the buds popping out and resin starting. This plant takes very heavy feeding. It seems to look healthiest when nutrients are measured on the high end of manufacturers recommendations. I deeply regret using organic potting mix now. After 11 weeks it offers nothing as nourishment for the plants so I need to feed heavily pretty much every day. There is absolutely no crisp on the leaf tips either so I feel I have the ratio in the zone. A few weeks ago I thought this one was a goner, but now it could be one of my best yet 🍻
Amnesia is really starting to fire 🔥, buds are lining the branches nicely, in particular the 2 crowns where she was tipped early on. The weather has really eased off heat wise, in fact it has changed a bit too quickly, and I kind of hope for a few more warm sunny days now. Amnesia takes heaps of feeding and loves it for the most part. No sign of burn, but I have one bud that seems to have a lime yellow outbreak on top. I’m not too worried because it’s only on one bud, and it’s going away a bit now, but it’s weird and I wonder if you guys have seen this before @grey_wolf or @Med_in_Tropic?? Maybe she got the corona!! 🍻
What a beautI full plant Amnesia is. Only 4 weeks into flowering and the resin production is seriously impressive. Looks like icing sugar dusted all over. This really only developed in the last week and a half. Buds looks lovely, lining the branches and joining together as they get bigger. Amnesia has a really long flowering time so I can’t wait to see what these lush buds look like in coming weeks. 🍻
Amnesia is a train,, every week is something new and awesome. This week buds have displayed lovely red hairs coming through. The buds have really fattened up and the smell and resin production has gone up a notch. I figure I’m about half way through flowering. Such a beautiful looking plant really. It’s still getting even taller and I can feel the main buds wobble back and forth when I move it, gaining weight all the time. I gave it a couple of days of no food or water, then a full drench in dr green thumbs high tea, recommended by the grey wolf. Amnesia seemed to really love that, then another break for 2 days, followed by a feed of half nutrient and full bloom booster. Amnesia takes heavy feeding, but I think a few days off in between is the sweet spot. 🍻
A great week for Amnesia. Just perfect weather, top temp 30 and mild in the evening, even the odd brief shower over night to top up my rainwater. I cut quite a few leaves off for the final time, all the little ones deeper in the canopy and pretty much anything that was blocking light to the buds. I heard this strain is a real slow finisher, and I get the feeling this one is gonna be a while yet. The buds are putting on weight nicely but still lots of white pistils still standing up. I am really enjoying this one 🍻
Week 7 of flowering for Amnesia, and it’s really humming now. It smells strong as. Not fresh or minty or fruity,, just rich, dank and strong. Amnesia is a notorious slow finisher and I was ready for this, but I keep feeling like it’s nearly ready. Lots of red hairs now, white pistils are not poking up, and close up pics of trichs seem to confirm nearly all cloudy and some amber. Reviews suggest a 10-12 week flower stage, but I’m only at 7 and feel like it’s nearly home,,, also some yellowing of a few leaves. Nearly all are still rich green, but the occasional one yellows off. Not sure if it’s an over/under feed issue, or just nearing the end of the life cycle,,, and ideas @Grey_Wolf or @Med_in_Tropic?? Aside from that, I am preparing to cut in the next 2 weeks,, and I almost can’t wait. 🍻
Week 17 and Amnesia is done. A few days ago I was still deliberating when it may be ready but in the last 2 days she rapidly changed, with leaves wilting and yellowing and buds deepening in colour. I am really happy with the result. This is the longest I have had a plant and it is the best looking specimen yet. Got her chopped in the laundry, and the next report will be harvest and smoke. I will be trying Amnesia again without a doubt, it has been a very exciting grow. 🍻
Amnesia Haze has been one of the most interesting and exciting grows I have had so far. It had some struggles in the heat of summer but recovered beautifully and changed rapidly from then on. It is a branchy plant that needs maintenance but all those branches deliver seriously frosty buds all over, with thick long crown buds that stretch for the sky. Rich thick smell and resin, Amnesia is visually eye catching and a great yielder.
I am really happy with this result, definitely more than I expected in weight, and early smoke tests are just unreal. Already a distinct flavour that is unique to me, but may be associated with “haze” genetics. Rich and full, not harsh even though not cured, and a strong, clear happy high that lasts for ages. Great reviews from mates so far as well. I am really happy with the way she pushed through a tough summer and pumped in final stages. Visually stunning with the huge thick crownies on each side. Dank smell and thick with resin. What a taste, a real beauty. Will give this another go for sure. 🍻
Great job with this @Shooey ! I can't believe the long veg and flowering time for an auto, 9 weeks in veg, wow - but the results look great! Sure this was a great smoke ;)
@Epokwan, thanks mate👍. This is definitely my fav to date. It wasn’t auto man, but a fem.
Those sativas pump out magic looking buds hey, but the long flower times can be a hassle.
I see you do well with autos man, but I haven’t really been able to get much out of them for some reason.
As for the smoke, so so nice. A bit strong for me though 😄 cheers mate
Hi mate, I think you girl is wanting something. I think she can use a bit more nitrogen. But with haze, it better to underfeed and let the leave yellow. Over feeding haze will get tje entire plant burn.
A safe practice would be a cup of milk add to a liter of water and feed her once. The excess nitrogen from milk doesn't really burn. And you will boost soil microbes going.
Milk is a great fertilizer but it really is too expensive. You can get the better result cheaper with guano tea or manure tea.
@Med_in_Tropic, hey thanks med. I knew you would have seen this before. It’s a weird one because it is confined to just the single bud. I’m gonna go with your milk idea,, it seems the safest way without risking burn. Even though it is some sort of problem, I must say it is visually pretty to look at with a flame yellow shoot! This hobby will really throw up something different every time. Thanks for the advice as always mate 🍻
Oh baby those are some lovely buds. Fantastic work my friend. Keep it up and may the ganja garden gods bless you along the way with this grow and all future endeavors as well
@Grey_Wolf, thanks for the advice mate, I’m gonna take it on. Trying a nutrient change through this week and I feel I can recover in a couple of weeks. Cheers mate as always👍
@Shooey, Roots can benefit from the use of Mycorrhizal fungi that attacks the bad pathogens in your soil I use a product called Great White
also Vitamin B Fulvic and Humic acids are excellent for overall plant and root health .
@Grey_Wolf,hey wolf, that went through my mind for sure, but it is in a premium potting mix which is full of nutrient, plus I am feeding with bio canna vega a couple of times a week, as well as a fish and kelp solution. I worry that if I increase feed I might get burn as well. I also may have overwatered as I noticed the soil was really gluggy at the bottom and even very warm to touch, and because of that it was a bit smelly. My shaman is in the same soil and it is pretty much only getting water and it is super healthy. I noticed on one of your diaries you had a product which improved root health,, what was it again mate?? I am happy to try another feed which includes the minerals you talked about. Do you have any recommendations?? Cheers wolf
Hi, I go by the microscope pic of the trichome. If she is ready, the cut. I dad mold issue with Amnesia left too long on the plant. She was so thick and joint.
Also people count flowering Peoria’s differently. Yes, it is seven weeks from pistils. But from the first week that you went 13 hours schedule, it had been nine weeks already.
If you are ready, give her one last week and go for the chop. Your risk is losing opportunities to fatten her up by 5 to 10 percent more. Or loose 29% of the buds due to rot.
@Med_in_Tropic, thanks med. I really appreciate the advice mate. I have held off, but I am gonna get one of those microscopes,, they have some good ones for android phones only about $25...
Hey Shooey. Looking nice. Just to put in my 2 bobs worth....i have found flowering times suggested by breeders can be a little flexible and outdoor grows in my experience tend to fiish faster.
My critical by RQS just finushed 5th week and looks like less than 2 weeks to go.
Good luck wirh harvest...she looks great!
@MagicMan, thanks magic,, great to get perspective from other outdoor growers. I think you may be right about the outdoor grows finishing a bit faster,, I feel like all my grows so far have been ready earlier than the breeder timeframes. I mostly go by instinct now. When I get jittery, paranoid about anyone who walks past the house and start bringing inside every night, I know I’m in the final week🤣🤣
@Buddha2, thanks buddha,, yes I did quite a lot of research as to what would suit outdoor growing conditions where I live. Amnesia haze seems to thrive in the humidity. It’s a slow starter for sure and a bit fussy in early weeks so will be interesting to see if it can go on from here. I’m in the sthn hemisphere so the season is coming to an end in a few months. Not expecting a big yield but it is meant to be some strong shit!! Lovely looking too👍
Sativa is slow.
Recommend that you chase the pot size up rather than give it one big go.
This is a slower strain. And it will take a little longer.
Next step of pot should be to 3 or 4 liters, then 7 to 10 liters. then to 25 liters.
This way soild would be fresher and you won't rinse away fertilizer.
Cheers
