New year, new grow. HiJack will be grown together with two other plants in separate diaries. Tent size is 60x120 cm² and I'm using five Sanlight S2W with each 62 Watt (from wall), so I'm calculating 0.24 m² and 103 Watt per plant.
Germination started on 27.12.2019 and she broke ground on New Year's Day. Everything is fine so far.
HiJack is taking the lead. She is growing as vigorously as the Super Skunk in my last run. It was the biggest seed and the fastest one to germinate. Hope she will continue to do what she is doing currently.
I was sick, so some of the photos are a bit blurry. Sorry about that.
HiJack is growing perfectly. Very vigorous. But this makes it even harder to diagnose what might be wrong with the other plants as all are sharing the same environment and conditions. Well, in the end they all are individuals...
HiJack is in berserk mode, the plant is exploding. I think I never saw such a fast growing plant. She is perfectly healthy, everything is so hassle-free it is almost boring. She has confirmed her gender on day 18 and seems to have already started her stretch. I'm especially happy because this strain is the reason for this grow in the first place. Hope things will continue like this.
I'm in love with this plant. She has the perfect stature, very light and open. Amount and size of leaves is simply perfect, there is no need to remove any of them. Seems she has almost finished the stretch. Absolutely no problems so far. And many, many budsites. I'm so excited to learn how she will evolve in the coming weeks.
Jackie is in full flower, buds are beginning to fill up. Lower leaves are turning yellow, so I removed some of them. Not really defoliation. Luckily she is done stretching since there is not much headroom left. Also looking quite happy. I raised her by 10cm to keep up with the Zkittlez.
Jackie is growing buds like I like it. I removed a few lower leaves that turned yellow. Apart from that, not very much to do other than staying patient.
Day 52. Jackie is building up buds and is looking mostly healthy. My only concern is that the leaves are of very lime colour, some are almost completely yellow. Increasing BioGrow and giving Cal-Mag did not have any effect, but at least she did not react the same way as Zkittlez and showing brown spots. Maybe this behaviour is just normal for this plant? She was extremely fast to grow and enter flower, maybe the same is true for the senescence... At least I know from my last grow that even a plant with yellow leaves during flower can still provide a decent harvest, so let's stay optimistic.
Day 59. Jackie is doing fine, buds are still swelling nicely. Her leaves are bit too yellow for my taste, but it seems to be normal for her. She was very fast to grow and flower, she is also very fast to age. Maybe only one or two more weeks to go.
Jackie is almost ready. She will be harvested in some days. Looking quite good. Her buds could have filled up a little bit more, but she also was affected by the overwatering mistake. However she could handle it much better than the over-sensitive Zkittlez. I'm so curious how she will turn out. She is my first Sativa dominant plant and was the main reason for this grow. I still have quite some Indica stuff.
Jackie has been harvested on day 70. The buds are very, very dense, so I have absolutely no idea how much it is. Update to follow once it is dried in about a week.
This is a great strain for beginners. It grows by itself and extremely fast and is quite forgiving. She was also affected by my overwatering which certainly has impacted the yield, but she could handle it much better than the Zkittlez.
Even without any cure the smell is unbelievable; I think it is the strongest smell I ever experienced. You do not need to burn it in order to get stoned 😁 It smells and tastes extremely sweet, almost like caramel or cookies. The effect focuses on the head, it is very uplifting, almost euphoric. This is combined with some mellow body stone. I think day smokers could like it as it does not make you sleepy at all.
Will definitely grow again in the future.
Drying went very fast due to low RH. It took only 5 days and buds are already somewhat overdried. They are hard and dense, but looking much lighter than the ones from Zkittlez. The smell is almost unbelievable. I'm getting more and more convinced that low temperatures during flower are an absolute must for a good aroma. Both plants harvested so far are smelling and tasting so much more intense than any plant I grew last summer. Next grow definitely will be in winter again.
Hey Bhudda, I really envy you. Still have the feeling I'm Lightyears away from growing such plants...
Beautiful Señorita... congrats!
👍👍Cheerz, Oimrausch.
@Buddha2, Extremely wise words. Bunch of thumbs up👍. Slow and steady wins the race. I also agree with your other comment. I'm starting to like the minimalist approach more and more. I do like to train though. I'm totally guilty of that. But no cuts, no stress, no recovery... I'm starting to see the huge benefits with this.
I like your thinking and your plants! Have a great week with them👌. Cheers Buddah
@@OimRausch, when you want to become a master juggler: Will you start juggling with three running chain saws? No, you gonna start with two or three softballs and then train, train and train. Once you have mastered the basics, you will start slowly increasing difficulty. I think applying this strategy also to growing is the way to go. In this current grow, there is just one thing I need to do: Give the right amount of water. And I've failed even on this elementary task. So it is pointless trying to apply even advanced growing techniques. Maybe some time in the future...
B-E-A-Utiful. Loving the colors. Such a treat seeing them put on a show. Thanks for the great pictures this week👌
Have a great week with them and best of luck✊
@TegridyCal, I also do not have any experience here. And my gorilla is from the same breeder, but looking totally different. We will see. Happy growing!
These look really great! Nice bud development and stacking. All on such an efficient light setup. I'm looking forward to seeing your finals. Happy growing!
