Well, I'm still waiting for my Seedsman order to show up from overseas and it's time to get another one started. I have decided to start one every four weeks now and only have three of various ages in my tent at an given time.
So, I'm gonna have another go with a Dinafem Blue Cheese Auto. I can really see the potential in the one I currently have at 11 weeks (should be ready any day), and I'd like another kick at the can to correct the the things I did wrong with that one... not that it's terrible, but I've had a phosphorus deficiency problem with my last few plants and I need to get the cause of that under control. I'm pretty sure it's combination of no "real" testing equipment and probably a bit of over watering too.
This one will be better... and always a learning experience!
Day 5 Update: I called this diary Baby Blue Cheese because of how small the seed was... I purchased a five pack and two of the five seeds were really small... I mean really small!, I didn't think they would pop. So I figured I'd give one a go. I soaked it overnight and then put it on a wet paper towel for another day. Much to my surprise it popped... upon closer inspection I noticed two taproots?! I didn't expect one let alone two. I put it in coco the other day and sure enough, today I have twins! I'm gonna call the big one Arnie and the little one Danny lol. Never really had a mutant before, guess we'll see what happens.
Not much too report here.. the vestigial twin is still holding on, I don't expect it will make it. I'm just gonna let it go and see what happens anyway. Started on a mild nute mix this week, will ramp it up a bit next week. I am really liking my Bluelab pH tester and Conductivity meter, it's nice to know what exactly is going on in the root zone.
I'm hoping to see a better return from this BC compared to my first one... not that there was anything wrong with the first one, it tastes and smells amazing!
So far, so good... seems to be adjusting the increase in nutes just fine. I clipped the gimpy parasitic twin today, I didn't want it messing anything up it was barely an inch tall and would have ended up rotting down there or something.
Judging by the amount of clear trich's in pic 4 I'm gonna say she needs a bit longer. 😜
Looking good so far, She has perked up over the last week and there has been plenty of new growth. I think this one looks better than my last Blue Cheese at this point in the game. Can't wait to fill some more jars with this tasty strain!
I'm pretty happy with this girl's progress. She's really shot up over the last week and everything is looking healthy. This one is in farther ahead then my last Blue Cheese at this age. I can't wait to have some more of the amazing fruit this strain produces!
She grew quite a bit this past week, almost 10" in seven days. Starting to see calyx and pistil development everywhere. Ramped up to full bloom nutes with this last feeding, 1.7 EC, seems to be responding well.
This girl is on a big time stretch, hope it stops soon lol. She has grown 14" in the last seven days and 10-11" the week prior. I'd be happy if she stopped growing up and started filling in now. This plant is easily 25% larger than the Blue Cheese I popped a few months ago. Bud development is well underway, lots of big beautiful white pistils sticking up everywhere. This one is shaping up to be a beast, but time will tell.
Day 50 and looking good. Looks like the stretch is over and bud production is in full swing. She is starting to get a nice frosty carpet of trichomes and the dank smell of cheese is becoming very obvious. I've probably said it before, but this one is doing so much better than my last DF/BC at this age... and I really have no complaints about the quality of my last harvest so I'm quite excited for this one!
The stench coming off this plant is amazing! It smells super dank and dry like old cheese. The last Dinafem Blue Cheese I grew was much sweeter smelling with no where near the amount of trichomes covering this one, this one is all Cheese and looks and smells incredible so far.
If I had to complain about anything it would be that the buds aren't packing it on fast enough, but they are nice and dense for their size. She's still only at day 57, so easily a couple weeks left increase the bud meat!
I upped the Terpinator by 2ml/l this week and will most likely bump it up a bit more and continue to use right through flush.
It's looking like I'm gonna give my Dinafem Blue Cheese Auto the chop on Saturday. I gave her a good flush a few days ago and another today... just gonna let it dry up for a few days now and it's showtime. This girl is just carpeted in trichomes and smells dank and delicious... I can't quite put my finger on the exact smell, something like lemony cheese mixed with hint of Unicorn breath. Can't wait to load the bong with some and give it a rip.
I am amazed at the speed of this plant, my last DF/BC went 75 days and if I remember correctly I took it down a bit before she was ready. This one will be almost ten days faster and more mature at harvest.
This has been a super easy grow from start to finish! No real problems to speak of for the plants entire existence, it handled all use of nutrients just fine... never transplanted, fimmed, topped, HST, LST or anything really. I do some light defoliating when flowering starts and let nature take it's course. I have been smashing it with Terpinator this last week in my continued experiment. The proof will be in the smoke, but I'm betting this is gonna be amazing bud as a result of how much I've been using. I started around 2ml/L in the early flowering stages and ramped up to 10ml/L by my final flush. This is hands down the stickiest, most amazing smelling plant I've grown yet!
Harvest weights and smoke report to follow soon!
This is my second go with Dinafem Blue Cheese Auto and I couldn't be happier! This girl went 67 days from germination and has produced a nice bunch of really smelly, resinous buds. Smells of dry cheese with hints of lemon and sometimes pine.
Overall it was a very easy grow... watch the pH in the soil, don't go crazy with the nutes and she will be produce nicely and be a pleasure to grow.
Once again... I would recommend Dinafem Blue Cheese Auto to anybody looking for an easy to grow strain that produces some top shelf nugs!
Almost 68g dry weight. That's pretty much a gram a day over it's 67 day life.
This Dinafem Blue Cheese Auto has been an absolute pleasure to grow! No issues with it whatsoever. I cannot wait to dry and try a bit of this... this is hands down the most resinous buds I have ever grown, it smells like lemony cheese.
I ended up with a lot more trim than normal due to the fact that most everything growing off the buds was just carpeted in trichomes. Should make some nice budder!
My wet weights are... 103.3g trim and 263.13g buds. Dry weights and smoke report to follow soon.
Thanks @CaliGrown, My order came in two days after I started this Blue Cheese lol... no biggie though I really liked this strain so another one will be a pleasure to grow.
Next on the list is Mephisto's AvT, followed by Fast Buds Blue Dream Auto.
Blue cheese is amazballs! had It one xmas it was sooo smelly! Another level above your top cheeses. Really fruity but that stanky danky cheese overpowering everything! If you haven't tried you will LOVE!
I couldn't agree more @CAMOGROWN, this is my second Blue Cheese, my first one was definitely more of the Blueberry pheno... This one is all Cheese. I was super impressed with my first plant and this new one is even more impressive! Hands down the most resinous plant I've ever grown. Can't wait to dig in and give it a try.
Nothing like a beautiful little seedling popping out of the soil to start your day off right. I can't wait to see what potential she has in store for us to all see. Best wishes growing her. I'll pop in in a few days to see how she's come along. Should be fun to see how you train her. Cheers!
