This is my third run since beginning my hobby. I have changed everything on each run to test what I think gives best results and easiest to cope with. This run is opposite to my previous run. I have replace rich soil with coco and I am now using a hydro drip feed system in an attempt to avoid the watering chores. My nutrient is based on a 30L res. I check the PH and temps before the pump is turned on. Strictly speaking I should be using Aqua Canna for recirculating systems but I had already purchased the Coco bottles. The main difference is making sure the salinity (EC) of the res does not get too high as I’m guessing more salts are created from the coco range. Ppms low for first week or so. Ppms fed 200-250. Tap water is 130ppm and comes out around PH 7.0 so reduced to 5.7-6.0 MicroGrowery

Just keeping the temps correct is always a challenge in certain indoor grow areas but a tube heater seems perfect. Fan heaters should never be used as they ruin the flavours of the final product. I used a very small fan heater in my first run (obviously not blowing at my plants) but they are too aggressive in heating the air in my opinion and results in on off operation causing fluctuations in temperature. I have purchased a cylinder ceramic heater that does the job perfectly. I know that the temperature in the tent will always be in the good zone.

This week sees the start of Flowering. This should be week 4 but I lost pics of seedling stage. I changed my mind and decided to defoliate and allow more light penetration. I also took off the lower stems that had not yet reached out to the light. I am hoping the energy of the plant will be focussed upwards. My lights are sitting around 550-600 Ppfd and will sit around that mark until the end of vertical growth. DLI is around 25-30 on 19 hours of light. VPD is in the zone with temp of 23C and humidity of 47%. The HiparGero 800W LED is an excellent fixture for the price and the optic 1XL is a nice new addition. The plant sitting below the Optic seems to be very happy. Video tour of the tent added to the pics. Microgrowery

This week Shows the first signs of flower. The smell has suddenly kicked in and the initial flowering stretch has begun. One plant has grown to 60cm and the others are around 45cm tall. I defoliated slightly concentrating on the inner fan leaves that cast shadow on budsites but after a few days they had filled in again. If light can be seen reaching the base of the plant then I assume I should be ok. This Speed+ strain from sweet seeds really is a rapid plant. I have always grown Autoflowers since I started my hobby and think that I may move to photoperiods next time. Royal queen seeds and Sweet seeds have been my main breeders but if someone can suggest a good photoperiod breeder I will try them in my next diary. Many thanks for looking. MicroGrowery

A new light has been added to the tent. I noticed a bit of a droop for several hours after adding it. After 4 hours they started picking up again. They are quite healthy and seem to be very happy. PH Is around 6.0. It just seems easier to keep it around 6.0. The PH seems to rise to 6 a day after correcting it down to 5.7 so I gave up. PPM is around 1000 and cal mag is being added to help them cope with the higher light intensity during flower. Pk13/14 has been added in a very small amount and a slightly higher does will be used in the next week. Please feel free to comment if you have any info that may help :) please take time to like as it helps me know if this is worthwhile updating. Microgrowery

Noticed a small issue that looks like magnesium deficiency so use full dose of Sensi cal at 1ml/L. Some small interveinal yellowing starting around the leaf margins on a couple of fan leaves below the tops. Cal Mag fed via tank and foliar feed. The issue I have found could also be down to the small dose of pk13/14 added to the nutrient tank slightly early (Early last week) causing a lockout. Used the pk booster again this week but still added less than the recommended dose to avoid any issues. Hoping the buds start to fatten this week 😀 Using hydro is causing my humidity to stay up so I will need to find a way of lowering it this week. Ppfd 700-1000. Ppm 1200. PH 6.0.

Hi guys. The girls have settled into producing bigger buds this week and have no signs of issues. I think two of them may have at least 2 or 3 weeks left and the big plant may have 2. This is the time I struggle with the most using autos. The breeder states a harvest time but this is under ideal environmental conditions and I am not clear if I have provided the perfect environment. I am going to let them go until hairs turn 80-90% orange. Overall they are looking frosty and feel very dense. This is the part were being patient is very important and imo the most difficult part of any grow. I just want to cut one bud off and smoke it 🤪 but I won’t. I have uploaded a picture of the new seeds for my next grow. Moving to photoperiods next grow woohoo. If anyone had any suggestions please comment and let me know 🧐 Cheers guys Microgrowery

Happy week 8 yaaaall. The big plant seems to be about a week ahead of the other two. The flush has begun on it but harvest for the others could be as much as two To three weeks further down the line! The swell is well under way and they are all looking very frosty but pistils are not quite there yet. I am planning to flush the big one this week and get it hung up. Dense bud all the way down. The +Speed auto can be chopped at 7 weeks but generally require 8-10 for best results. My environment is steady and temps are perfect. VPD was kept on point for the majority of the run and nutrients fed at just over half of what was stated on the bottle. The amount that can be grown in such a small area and in such a short space of time is unbelievable. Only one plant has been harvested at the moment so I will update the harvest week of the diary with the other two once they are ready.
