What's a guy to do, but grow his favourite weed again?! I grew 1 round of 8BK, then cloned another round off that. Currently flowering some GSC, and now I'm starting a whole new generation of 8BK from seed! Hempy perlite buckets, growing under a 40W desk lamp until the GSC finishes flowering and I can move them into the tent. It will take a while for them to start really growing, probably 2 more weeks -- partly because they're under a desk lamp. I soaked the seeds in water for 8 hours before they both sank to the bottom of the cup. I then planted them before they popped open, and covered with foil to block light. After about 24 hours they were coming up, so I removed the foil and put them under the desk lamp. For the first week, I sprinkled pH-adjusted bottle spring water on them twice a day. Today I did full 1 gallon waterings on each bucket with 1/8 tsp Maxibloom and 1/4 tsp CaliMagic in each 1 gallon jug. I am in Canada, so the jugs are technically 4 Liters, but in order to keep it simple I just call them a gallon and then I'm watering with "1 unit" per plant every day instead of 4 -- just makes for easier math and tracking. Off we go!

Pretty much autopilot here, steady as she goes growing under the desk lamp for now while the GSC is flowering! Finished week 2. Used MaxiBloom and CaliMagic this week, today I swapped MaxiBloom for MaxiGro which will be standard for week 3. I did have one blunder this week, I left the heater on "nonstop" and the room got up to 102F!!!! But only for a few hours before I walked in and freaked out. They don't seem to be affected by a few hours at that high of a temp.

Standard procedure, just waiting for the grow tent to free up in a few more weeks! Not much else to say. I spend like 10 mins a day watering them. I flushed today just because I hadn't flushed yet since I started using nutes.... Otherwise same shit different day for now!

Sorry for not posting on time last week. The pics are from the appropriate day last week! However I was unable to post them until now due to the brakes going out on my truck (busted brake line and just old crusty brakes in general). Still growing steady under the desk lamp until my GSC finishes!

Trimming, LST, and heavy defoliation. I trimmed off all the old, large fan leaves to serve three purposes: 1. to open them up to more light; 2. to make them grow a little slower; 3. because the fan leaves were getting too close to the desk lamp and sometimes being smashed up against the wall. Basically just biding my time with these until the GSC is done flowering in the tent. Then I'll move these girls in as fully mature but small plants, and as soon as they are exposed to the grow light they will explode vegetatively for 2 or 3 weeks until they will be ready to flick over to flowering and fill out the tent! Autopilot. I spend about 10 minutes a day watering and caring for them, which equates to around 1.25 hr a week.

Sorry for missing posting this week and the lack of pics, I've been busy harvesting my GSC grow and trying water curing :) Any moments of spare time I have has gone into that. Not much has changed, they're just growing a bit and I did some defoliation. They are about to go into the tent though, either today or tomorrow, so check back for next week's post -- when everything changes!

I finished harvesting and drying my GSC in the tent and then moved these ladies in! They stunted for a day after the move into the tent and then took off. I did some heavy defoliation and LST to expose the nodes so by the time I post next week they should be significantly larger. Will let them go for a couple weeks and then flick over to flowering!

Autopilot again this week, easy peasy. I let them go for a while and didn't LST or defoliate at all this week until today! Had some good growth over the last week. I got them nice and defoliated to expose all the nodes and remove the leaves underneath that aren't getting any light at all and never will, to help open up airflow. This upcoming week I'll be inserting the watering tubes and ScrOG net to grow them horizontally that way instead of continuing to use LST. Will do this for a week or two and then flick over to flowering.

Grew amazingly the last week, I'd say they've adjusted well to being in the tent. I just routed them through the screens today, so I'm going to continue tonight with the 18 hour light cycle in case they are a little stressed, then tomorrow night I'll flick over to 12/12! No problems, smooth sailing, amazing looking plants now that they're in the tent doing their thing. No defoliation this week. I've found that it would be difficult to ScrOG properly in a 2x2 tent with 2 plants... but I'm happy doing what I'm doing and calling it ScrOGing until I can have a larger setup :)

First week of flowering went well! I've managed to fill out the net and I think I'm just gonna let them grow vertical at this point. Increased MaxiBloom without changing other nutrients. Starting tomorrow though I will drop the MaxiGro and just feed MaxiBloom for week 2 of flowering. After week 2 is over, I'll cut the MaxiBloom in half and introduce some Bud Blaster (PK boost). Onward and upward!

Cruisin' along! This week I fed MaxiBloom and CaliMagic only to support the second week of stretch. 8BK pretty much finishes stretching right at the end of the second week, so I'll now be adding in my PK booster every day starting tomorrow! I purposely held off defoliating until today. It was turning into a jungle and everything was blocking everything else, so I did a healthy amount of cleanup. Will probably stunt them for a day, but it's in the interests of airflow and light penetration which are extremely important moving forward from this point. So yeah, into week 3 we go starting tomorrow!

Edit: I logged 2.5ml/l for bud blaster. I meant to log 1.25 ml/gal  So I just changed it. Wow they stretched hard in the third week :O Grew another 6 inches! They're done now though. Otherwise, autopilot again this week :) Just watering once a day as usual. I cut down to minimal MaxiBloom this week and started on the Bud Blaster (PK booster). Crystals starting to form on A, but not so much on B. I think I'll probably end up with two completely different harvest dates at least a week apart! I let them grow for the week then performed some "extreme defoliation" on the last day. Increased smell this week, I love 8BK!!! Mmmmm.

Cut back even further on the MaxiBloom this week. Had to do a little more defoliation to open up light, but I only removed about 10 leaves. Plant A is maturing so much faster than B, which sucks because it's in the back. Doh! Otherwise, autopilot, not much else to say :) I spend about 20 minutes a day hand-watering them with an ebb and flow (basically pour the water in, let it sit for 10 mins, then drain it out) and looking them over. 8BK is so low-maintenance!

Continued with same nutrient/watering schedule as last week. Only needed to remove 10 leaves this week, just enough to keep sunlight from blocking some of the shorter colas! Otherwise it's been autopilot. Plant A in the back is maturing about 1 week ahead of plant B, so that'll be interesting. I may have to try to cut it down first without interfering with B, and then do a 7 day water cure while B finishes. Or I may just over-mature it until B is done and whack 'em down at the same time. Any suggestions? Just gotta keep on keepin' on at this point!

End of week 6 and they are stacking it on, especially plant A in the back! I'm going to try holding out until the end of week 8 to harvest, so if I can make it two more weeks from today........ Everything is just smooth sailing. Haven't changed anything. Spending about 20 mins a day watering and admiring them (because once I water, I let it sit in there for about 10 mins before I drain it). Nice strong smell. Plant A's top-most buds are starting to show amber trichomes. Hoping it can hold out for 2 more weeks!! Should get my biggest yield yet from this, methinks :) :) :) Big thanks to those that have helped me learn and supported me from afar along the way.

So!!! Some of the buds up top were definitely ready. Ambering out like crazy. I began flushing 3 days ago. But after chatting with someone on here, I decided I would harvest the plant in two stages! The first stage today, where I take the topmost buds, even out the canopy, and perform a small amount of defoliation -- then another harvest sometime in the next 7 days (pref waiting 7 days unless something goes awry). As of today I'm giving them only 0.625ml/gal of MaxiBloom and keeping the rest the same. Then after more discussion, I decided I'm going to re-veg. I'll leave the bottom third alone on the next harvest and flip to 24/0 for a couple weeks to try to bring them back. Both as an experiment, AND so I can take two clones off plant A when they've re-vegged and ready to flower again! I really like the way plant A grows and the buds it produces, and how early it matures. It's like the perfect phenotype of my favourite strain. I want to grow two more pheno As after I re-veg and flower again! Plus then I don't have to do anything at the moment to setup for the next grow. Might it fail? Yeah absolutely. But I'll learn a lot either way, and if it goes great, I'll be able to do a couple more rounds of pheno A clones before popping new seeds. The buds I harvested today have been wet-trimmed and placed in a bucket for water curing. I will change the RO water every morning. The bowl with water in it is to weigh the bag of bud down so they all stay underwater. I covered with foil and placed in the corner of our bedroom where there's very little light. It's around 65F during the day and around 60F at night there -- this spot is where I do all my water curing.

After trimming the top buds at the end of last week and getting them water curing, I continued to grow the plant. I cut the MaxiBloom in half and kept everything else the same. The remaining buds actually packed on nicely with the tops removed! It let them get more light and they fattened up. After several days they were no longer producing new calyxes, at least not noticeably anyway. So I took everything but the bottom 25% of the plant! I left all the buds on the bottom too. Got it in the bucket for water curing as well. My wife actually helped trim this time, and she seemed to really enjoy it :) It was a nice way to spend a few hours together. <3 I'm now currently working on re-vegging the plants! If plant B survives, then I'll get more bud when they flower again -- if it doesn't survive, then no worries. I want to take clones from plant A, which is the one in the back, which looks quite healthy and I'm expecting good results there! Next grow, I'll do two clones of plant A, which is an amazing phenotype. I may even get some colloidal silver and make some seeds outside this summer/fall :) I was wondering how plant B would react as it was quite yellow, but it seems to be turning green again. The girls are obviously stressed, I can see it in the way they hold their leaves -- but they're taking it quite well! I dosed them heavy with MaxiGro (high nitrogen) for the first two days in an attempt to shock them out of the flowering phase, which caused some mildly burnt leaf tips here and there... Then I flushed them for a day and now I'm just adding 1/8 tsp of MaxiGro and 1/4 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon. The water curing will be done Sunday evening and at that time all the buds will have between 6 and 8 days of curing. I'll have to pull the re-vegging plants out and put them on my desk, so that I can put the drying rack in darkness in the tent. I'll dry the water cured buds and all the trim, which is currently in the freezer, over 24 to 30 hours... then I'll process it all and post an actual "harvest week" once it's all done! :) Going to make some lazy-man's hash and some gummies out of the kief. I'll be using Greenmachine's gummy recipe from his Bucket of Cookies diary :)

First full week of re-veg attempt! I was running 24/0 and adjusting nutes a bit here and there, threw in some MaxiBloom a couple times just to make sure plenty of P and K. Took a few old fan leaves off here and there, maybe 10 total throughout the week, just to keep light penetrating where it needs to. Plant A already has some nice re-veg growth (of course it's mutated shapes and stuff, but it's definitely vegging!) Plant B is just starting to show signs of re-veg growth. This is why I want to preserve plant A! It's just FUCKING AMAZING! Will give it another week or two before I take a couple clone cuttings from A.

(Will be posting results from first harvest soon as well, just need more time in the day) The second week of re-veg went really well. Definitely vegetation coming back to plant B now for sure, and plant A is just growin like the weed it is :P Have stabilized the nutes. Removed some leaves cuz they are really packing them on at the moment. Because plant A is doing so well, I decided to take two clone cuttings. The bottle tops on them are to help hold in some moisture. They eventually fog up a bit, I leave them on as a "dome" for a few days to keep the plants moist then take them off to encourage any new roots to grow a path to moisture! Used some powder from the same $6 tub of Miracle Grow rooting hormone that I've had around for a long time. I'm not saying it's the best shit ever, but it works just the same as anything else. They will get their own diary next week, if they survive the first week :) And on she goes. I'm thinking 1 or 2 more weeks of reveg before I flick these over.

I just let the re-vegging moms and the clones grow this week because I wasn't able to do much or make a diary entry due to life problems. Sorry for the lack of detail but there wasn't anything exciting that happened anyway. The clones didn't root this week.

I flicked them to flowering a week ago and hooooooooly shit they are exploding in growth! Tons of defoliation and still more that needs to be done, I just didn't want to take any more of the plants until next week. Re-veg is amazing :O Feeding them more nutrients now as they need them for the stretch. Everything is going nice and smooth so far, I'm on the lookout for bananas just in case one of them had a little too much stress. But 8BK is resilient so I'm not really expecting any problems.

Other than some extreme defoliation today, I didn't touch them this week outside of normal watering. They're pretty much on autopilot. I cleared out tons of stuff below the ScrOG line today and thinned out the branches as no light whatsoever was getting through, the canopy was so thick! Onward to next week we go...

I wasn't around to post for a few weeks! Life got real busy real fast. Everything's still going as normal though! These were growing fan leaves and colas so fast and tight, I couldn't even keep up with the defoliation. Just kinda letting it ride at this point.

Happy Harvest Day!

8 Ball Kush is always amazing stuff! I've written several reviews on it as I've grown it several times, and it's fantastic every time. Should probably only smoke this during the day if you're an experienced smoker!!! Otherwise you might find yourself completely fucked and unable to think or even complete a coherent sentence :P

NOTE: THIS IS THE FIRST HARVEST FROM BACK IN WEEK 18!!!! I also just posted week 27 flowering on the re-veg right before I posted this, will try to keep up again. It took a long time to post this because life got crazy for a minute there. Now I don't have much to say any more! They're currently flowering again and look like they will produce significantly more. I took a top down harvesting approach on this round here, where I trimmed off the top 1/3 first, the second 1/3 next, and then left the bottom 1/3 for re-veg. Next harvest, I'll take it in 1/3s again BUT will harvest the whole thing :) Took 2 clones from pheno A about... 5 weeks?... into flowering and it worked out great, they have their own diary.

I continued to flower the re-veg for several weeks and harvested again, however GrowDiaries is not letting me put a second harvest week in a row for whatever reason. I'm going to try to put a week in between here, this represents several weeks.

Well it wont let me post a secondary harvest so ... here's another week of flowering added to represent it. I got about 90 grams after water curing, including the kief/hash.

You are the 8 ball kush master! They look perfect. I would say let it run late and harvest at the same time. It looks like this round has the potential to get fatter buds.

@Jwjoh, yeah you just root them and switch them to flower. Then start misting them when they start putting off pistils

@Wicked_Stix, thanks! The clones are lookin nice too, over in their own diary now :P Both clones of plant A, I want the phenotype. May follow your method for making seeds toward the end of summer! Can you do the colloidal silver thing with clones?

How did the gummies turn out? Mine taste pretty bad but they do the trick.

@Wicked_Stix, I made them without cannabis, and they tasted great! Shared with the kids and they loved them too. But man, the minute you add cannabis, they taste like total shit. I can't even bring myself to eat them as they make me want to barf and then the after taste lingers :/ so I put them in the deep freeze and am saving them for when I don't have anything else.

@Wicked_Stix thanks,it blows my mind that I can grow them under an LED desk lamp that consumes 13 watts (for the equivalent of a 40 watt incandescent output). LOL. I can tell they are ready to explode in growth though as soon as they go into the tent -- it'll be like 2 weeks in the tent and they will be filled out / ready to flower :P
