Steady growth after supercropping 2 weeks ago, need to trim lower growth as leaves are not getting enough light and dying. Topped all around a few days ago. This is first week of full strength nutrients at 1500-1600 PPM. Some main stems are still split, seems like slow healing. I’m considering adding more silica. I’ve noticed after supercropping, the PH has reversed from steady rise, to steady drop... I’ve been adding pinches of baking soda at 5.4 to 6.1 pretty much daily. Changed reservoir recently to help with fast fluctuations but it’s still reversed. Can only guess it’s due to the high stress of the super cropping and that it is still healing.

Noticed magnesium deficiency, purple stems everywhere, added Epsom salts to help. Added a bit of nirvana cause I had it, so why not. Just did a FIM of both plants and lollipopped earlier in the week.

Took some clones this week, 9 of the best top shoots. Filling up the 4x4 nicely, looks healthy, no deficiencies. Next week I think I’ll move to the 4x8 and scrog.

you can be, with the beginning of blockages of nutrients the excess of one leads to these causes, before throwing the old water do an analysis of the ph and ppm in the hydro change the water do half the strength with good nutrients keep an eye keep your ph at 5.7 in a few days you will see results these old leaves will not change the leaves wait for new healthy growths, in serious soil a wash with PH 6.7 water until things come back in place I hope I have helped in something good harvest friend!

So here’s my set-up. I water-cooled my 2 HLG 550’s with a home-made system. (I am a master plumber so why not). It will drop the air temp in tent about 9-10 degrees F and is more efficient than A/C. When I first got my equipment, I tested the temps and it was getting up to 90’s! In summer months, I’ll definitely need to be running it 100%. So with that, I bought my 3rd 1/4 HP chiller that chills my 55gal RO holding tank and cycles it over my lights. Got a 1500 gal/h pond recirc pump, so quiet and comes with a mounting speed controller, makes my control board even more pretty! The 8” AC infinity inline fan comes with temp / humidity control, also mounted. It’s all very quiet, lower speed settings 1-3 usually. Loudest piece of equipment is the air pump. I am living with the tent so opted for extra quiet and efficiency. Plants still in veg, recovery from the super-crops under the net look ok, it has been a week, I lollipop’d them yesterday with some light defoliation up top, the older deficiency seems to be corrected with new res change last week. New growth looks good... (note to self, dont be lazy and just change the reservoir) I topped today, only 1” off the tallest tops. Hopefully it evens out a little better. I’m thinking about waiting just a few days to flip to let them recover a bit more with all the defoliating. Flipping Friday I think, but if it’s looking unhealthy in any way, will hold off till Wednesday. Thanks for reading the whole thing!!!

Decided to start flower on Sunday, so here we are... Day 3, I did a little defoliation at top of canopy. I think the bottom third needs a prune soon, she got some random wanna-be-branches tryna make something of themselves... they need the pimp hand to keep ‘em from actin’ up. Seriously tho, the whole defoliation with pros and cons and nay sayers to experts... so confusing, I think I’m going to choose a middle ground. Some defoliation... prolly less than 50% fan leaves... but, we’ll see...

Today is start of 2nd week, technically day 8. I am trying out an HLG 100 watt 4000K spectrum added to the middle of the tent, I hope it compliments the 3000K and doesn’t cause weird issues. I don’t think it will, only 100 Watts right in the middle of 1000 watts right... I also did more defoliation; bottom 3rd of left side under first net as well as canopy. The right side only canopy as I already did the bottom third like 3-5 days ago. I also added the second trellis net, not sure if it’s in the right spot or if it needs to be higher. It’s about 10” I guess from first net... I hope the lower shoots grow more to even out. As for nutrients; mixing silica first, at 1 ml/gal, then cal-mag. I get some cloudiness when adding the CX horticulture bloom enhancer. I watered it down in half litre of RO and it helps, but still some cloudiness that dissipates quite quickly... a rep from CX said it was caused by PH imbalance. Not really sure how to fix using this CX bloom enhancer and silica. I will try no silica next week, maybe the cal-mag will affect it similar?? I am currently brewing up a worm tea. Cheese cloth with castings, some planticillan and Mary-Jane with some blackstrap. Brewed for 48 hours... I recently bought some botanicare sweet citrus, but I’m worried about adding sugars to hydroponics as it easily feed bad bacteria. I don’t want an issue with Cyanobacteria. The beneficial bacteria should allow me to use the sweet citrus and it’ll just feed bennies instead of baddies if I use enough of them. One thing I’m not sure on tho, is the condition of the tea, I usually strain it, cause it has some floaters of what looks like algae but, it has no light... not sure if it’s a clump of bacterial waste or a colony or if it is in fact, bad bacteria or algae... maybe I’ll ask on the question section... As for the PPM.... I drain the Rez, and both tubs of plants, but when I added the RO and turned on the pump, all the water from piping and I guess within roots brought the PPM to 1400 and I didn’t even add anything... so instead of draining everything again, I just filled it with nutes and now it’s sitting at 2040... I did a calibration on it as well with a PH calibration. Maybe the unit is shit. Maybe I’m shit. Shrug.

Day 15- Week 3 Okay, so this week I corrected a large PPM issue. Was sitting at 3500 by the time I got to it, oddly enough, the plants didn’t look to stressed about it. Maybe it was like a bud ignition happy fuck up!?!!? Anyway, I had to run some flawless finish to dissolve some salts in the root ball and I cleaned through the hydroton as well. New RO water running though the pump came in at 100 PPM, much better than the 1400 after a reservoir change last week! We back on track with special thanks to a fellow grow diary member, MOSPEADA, for putting me right with the plant gods. So now, with everything looking good, the left side plant has greener foliage and is about 2 days ahead of the plant on the right. Not really sure why at this point but hopefully it’s not genetics cause I took clones of the right side plant only. I kinda suspect it’s because the water level is slightly lower in that bucket due to pump and less roots were able to suck up nutes. I plan on getting a small 4 inch hydro mesh bucket to use as a cover for the hole inside bucket to increase the surface area and push back roots. They are sneaking through but not clog worthy yet. I’ve been thinking a lot about the nutes lately, expensive liquid from shops is eating away at my wallet. Noticing how other diaries are incorporating raw nutrients such as Calcium Nitrate...(again Mospeada) I did some internet searching for hours and learned about the 6 base nutrients and ratios to mix them in and save a shit ton of money... I have ordered; 5Kg of Calcium Nitrate, 5Kg of potassium nitrate, 5KG of Potassium Sulphate, 5kG of mono potassium phosphate and 5kg of chelated Trace minerals. I also picked up; 5kg of fulvic acid powder ..and now I got to save a bit before investing in amino acids, humic and B1 vitamins. I have recipes in grams per litre that should work well for grow and bloom and I may tweak a bit to get the most perfect veg ratio for cannabis of 3:1:2. And bloom of 1:1:2... I also bought a kilo of Jack’s 5-12-26 Hydro, I should be able to manipulate the nitrogen ratios to anything I want. I guess I bought it out of curiosity... I’ll wait till after my CX horticulture nutes are used up first tho. I just got excited and blew my load (money) on dry nutrients... Oh ya! I’ve been defoliating daily, always trimming the upper fan leaves shading lower sites, about a handful from each side. I hope I don’t go too far and fuck something up, maybe I should dive in and really aggressively do it. I think everything is good so far for 2 weeks complete in flower... hope week 3 brings more fat buds. Day 21- I’m increasing lights on to 12.5 hours. Day 23 - I haven’t done any defoliation this week and the buds have not visibly increased in size for a couple days. The stretch is minimal at this point, haven’t noticed much vertical growth lately. They are still drinking and eating. I Topped up water yesterday with added nutes. Today I noticed some purple on a branch, I believe that’s magnesium or sulphur deficiency. I added 3 tablespoons of magnesium sulphate. ppm rose 300 to about 1180. Day 18 right plant showing first signs of calcium deficiency, I noticed a couple days ago and added magnesium sulphate and cal-mag. It raised the ppm to 1250. Some branches are showing more purple blotches, seems like a lot of calcium and magnesium tho to prevent it... I’m using a lot. I think. Currently sitting at 1990 PPM with the extra cal-mag and light base nutes. I feel lost with the current reservoir not knowing exactly what’s in it...not sure what the plants are and are not taking up. I know they want more cal-mag... I’ll try a 3ml/L next change out on Sunday. Also, my lights are cranked as high as they can go, closest tops pushing 20” away. I think it’s likely I’ll get light bleaching on a couple. Day 20 - I’m just gonna drain reservoir, I don’t feel good about all the shit I put in it. - reservoir changed, but, I didnt go light... I decided to try to find a max PPM they can handle so added nutes at full strength (manufacturer recommendation). Now I’m sitting at 2200 PPM with all nutes available to plants in CX-horticulture ratio. iPhone note recent change 2 days early from start of week 4. Starting EC of 100PPM Water volume 150 liters. Day 21 - Decided to run a high PPM for tolerance and watch plants, second day of 2200 PPM, refilled reservoir and now at 1900 PPM. Plants look okay. One leaf tip showing actual nute burn but it’s very small and I think that was from the beginning of last week with 3400 PPM mishap... I think so far, so good, at 2200 max. Thats full strength nutes and additives. Since I have stopped defoliation, the transpiration of all the extra overgrown leaves are adding to humidity levels, sometimes 60%. I may defoliate one plant heavily if humidity becomes more of an issue in the weeks to come. I may do it anyway just to do a side-by-side with/without. Day 22 - Had another close look at plants, I think they getting worse (added pictures, they were over-exposed so I ran them through a filter to highlight what I’m seeing). I added water to rez and now sitting at 1550 PPM. I think I’m getting a calcium deficiency which is weird with such a high ppm of it... I don’t know what else causes kind of a blotchiness like that. Whole leave too... Day 23 - I noticed a genetic deformity on the greener, healthier left plant, all the 9 pointer leaves are actually missing a leaf and are 8 pointers!!! (4 Photos added at end) Right plant is still looking like something bad happening to leaves, it’s just not pure green, it’s getting rusty patches through the whole leaf evenly... no help on “questions”, they see no deficiency yet, but it’s there... will wait longer to see what develops. Day 24 - No issues with nute burn, been steady and holding at around 1550 PPM, they are drinking and eating at the same rate. Added 5 pictures to show difference in leaves between left and right plant. Same nutes, same strain, same age, from seed. Increased lights on from 12.5 to 13 today, I’m little late to my own schedule. I forgot to do it at beginning of week. Will hold at 13 till start of week 7 which will then become 12.5, week 8 will be 12. Week 9 if not ready is 11 hours light till 48 hours dark, then harvest. I did a heavy defoliation of 1/8 of right plant... I’m too scared to defoliate this late in flower without knowing how the plants will respond. So small test section, top to bottom thinning out. Will watch for bud growth, or lack of... Day 25 - got some information from general question area; it’s suggested, there’s a possibility of phosphorus deficiency. As they are definitely different pheno’s, due to growth type, health with same nutrients/light etc. The right plant demands more energy and is hungry for more phosphorus as shown by the leaf deficiency, it looks like calcium, maybe magnesium, possibly phosphorus... I’m going with phosphorus at this point, with the information I have as to what I have done... To attempt the correction, I have added 43 grams of monopotassium phosphate in dry powder and tossed 12 grams of a bloom booster I had kicking around from old grow. New PPM of 1800. Let’s wait and see what comes to fruition. 🤞 Day 27 - Not feeling comfortable about the nutes in reservoir. I did a full drain and RO with flush. Drained again, filled reservoir with new nutes to 1600 PPM. Grow tent is in basement of a 4-storey split...there is condensation forming on top level windows. It doesn’t feel humid but I guess I need to fix extra humidity in house. New purchases include; 1) a water meter to measure exact water dispensed from RO tank into reservoir. I now will fill to 100 liters exactly and use that as the point of reference for everything. 2) A 35 pint Dehumidifier and stuck it in tent, running continuously it drops the humidity from the 55-60% RH to the 42-45% range. The dehumidifier drains into a; 3) Condensate pump, which moves it back into the reservoir. As great as all that sounds, the tent temperature increase due to lower humidity is not great, not to mention the humidifier itself is pushing out a little compressor heat. Unfortunately, the night time temp is now 71, even when it’s like 63F cold in the room. I’m not happy about the dehumidifier inside tent and may move it outside the tent. The new daytime tent temps.... 85F! That’s with increased vent fan speed. I had 92F when I lowered the exhaust fan speed so now it’s running 50% as well. The electrical bill gonna lick balls... I cant run my water cooled lights yet because 55gal drum is filling back up with RO water. Tomorrow I’ll see what happens when it’s running water... I got around 650 PPM eXhale bag CO2 and I hear 85F is where you want to be for LED grows anyway, since LED doesn’t produce radiant heat. They say, in a 1000 watt HPS room, the temperature on leaf surface is about 85f in a 78f cooled room. For LED’s, an 85F room gives you the same 85F leaf temperature. I’m happier running it cooler if I can. A couple days ago I noticed some leaves on the left plant were just starting to show the same calcium/magnesium deficiency as the right plant, now I really got to fix the problem! I will defeat the hydroponic feeding learning curve.... 💪 Day 28 - They drank 13 liters of water, PPM of system remained the same. I’ve decided to change the way I do things, from the wrong lazy way to the right way... I used to fill res, then just add water to top up every few days, sometimes adding nutes to correct the problem I created... I figured it was good since there is still nutes in water, they’ll be fine... I thought you added nutes in the correct ratios for even feeding of all nutrients and weekly change outs are good. BUT NO! This doesn’t work for me. The hungry bitches are taking in more calcium and magnesium and probably phosphorus than anything else and accounts for majority of nutrient loss. My new tactic, which everyone probably already does but for some reason evaded me, is fill a bucket with RO to replace reservoir water AND extra nutrients to make up the PPM loss on a DAILY basis. So, I filled a 5 gallon bucket to 13L and added 13 grams of Calcium Nitrate, stir, 7 grams of magnesium sulphate, stir, and 13g of Jack’s Hydroponic. The PPM of bucket was 2250. I am shooting for 1800 PPM so I’ll decrease jacks for tomorrow’s fill up. I am anticipating I’ll probably need to increase calcium so let’s try 18g calcium, 9g magnesium, and Jacks to get to 18-1900. Once added to the main reservoir, the PPM of system is now at 1759. I’m happy with it. This new method of not being lazy should eliminate any deficiencies I may have.

Day 29 - They drank about 23 Liters of water. With 23 liters of RO top up, I added 19.7 grams of Calcium Nitrate, 9.7 grams of magnesium sulphate and 10 grams of Jack’s Hydro. I will substitute jacks for Monopotassium Phosphate soon. Just want to make sure I can feed everything they might be lacking to fix whatever TF is going on with right plant. Hopefully they feeling better this week so next week I can PK boost. I have removed the dehumidifier outside of the tent, I don’t like the increased heat. Some bud tips on left plant have their pistils a little shrivelled, I’m thinking it’s a bit of heat stress. Day 30 - I added 43 grams of potassium sulphate, 0-0-50, and 44 grams of magnesium sulphate in 15 liters of water. That’s more PPM then I wanted at 2200 but I’ve established they can handle about a max of 2200 PPM. I’ll top up tomorrow with less cal-mag and no jacks to bring it back down to 1800ish. I think I have mostly a magnesium deficiency. Probably signs of some calcium, and potassium deficiencies which are making it hard to diagnose. Doesn’t help that I’m slightly colourblind and some shades blend into the same colours. I am just guessing and adding potassium and magnesium as the progression seems to be getting worse on both plants now. Although, I’ve Only been adding small amounts of extra calcium, mag and jacks 5-12-26 for 2 days, I’d like to see it stop dead in its tracks. As for CX horticulture, I’ve read other guys diaries, that in SOIL grows, they had no issues with deficiencies using a feed as per label. I am not doing anything wrong and using every CX-horticulture nutrient available for hydro grow. Yet, I’m dealing with this... my water is measured exactly to the liter, nutrients measured to the mL, mixed in proper order. I gotta find some sort of proper feed ratios or... I may scrap the use of CX-horticulture altogether and just start with dry nutrients with the gram per litre recipe I got from a cannabis forum. Let’s hope the magnesium and potassium boost, supplied in equal amounts, will help them feel better. One thing is for certain, for my first hydro grow... things are definitely not “dialed in”. 😭 ...12 hours later.... BAM! I HAVE DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM! WHAMMY! It’s bitter sweet news.... it’s my roots . ACK! Algae growth was always very minimal, I was using beneficial bacteria and without realizing it, it kept the algae at bay. I wanted to try to step away from using beneficial bacteria as others didn’t use it and had good results, so, since I stopped using them, they grew. Fast! BIFF! This last week it’s really taken off... CLASH! That, along with my local hydro store told me I didn’t need wilt guard as it is for coco only with bio balancer... ZAMM! However, after speaking with CX in an email, they have informed me otherwise. Wilt guard is recommended with all RDWC. It also has my missing nutrients on the phosphorus and potassium side. SPLATT! I’m glad I found the issue but... FAK!... 30 days into flower and now the buds are stalling. KAPOW! Where the is the light coming from? I’ll cut some pieces of black/white and place over the hydroton. It’s the only place light can enter. I’ve light proofed everything with black/white everywhere except there. AIEEE! I’ve added beneficial bacteria to soak roots till I can pick up wilt guard and hydrogen peroxide tomorrow, FML. FUCK! Can these girls be saved from the evil grips of the bog monster? Tune in next time, same bat channel, same bat time... OOOFF! 😣 .....30 hours later.... Day 33 - Sooooooo. Apparently, Wilt guard hasn’t been approved for use in Canada yet. No wilt guard for me. I have soaked the roots in a H2O2 solution for about 26 hours. Drained. The roots weren’t as bad a I thought, think I caught it early enough. Added pics if you wanna view. New reservoir of 1/2 strength nutes with a shit ton of bennies... planticillan, a free sample of enzymes, and more bennies from another product line... The PPM is 400 of just bacteria. Hopefully they eat up whatever dead matter is left and leave me with healthy roots for week 6 of flower. I also added regen-a-root. Total PPM is 960 after diluting a bit... In 4 days, on Sunday, is week six. I might do a res change on Sunday, root health pending.

Day 36- Left plant taking off, loving everything. Right plant stalled and still looks like week 3. Not really sure why, I’d have to guess the leaf damage had given it too much stress. I think I’m managing the nutrients better, based on the growth of the left plant. Really wish I cloned the left plant instead of the right, I’m going to have to really fine tune nutes for this finicky phenotype. We’ll see what I can do next grow. See ya next week... Day 39 - New experiment with nutrients -1 gram per litre of calcium nitrate, -0.5 grams per litre of Jacks Hydroponic 5-12-26. -1mL/L of 70% fulvic acid from concentrate at 150g/liter. - 1mL/liter citrus sweet. - 1mL/liter 3% H2O2. Total PPM in 100 liters, 1420.

Day 40-something.. I think the lack of bud on right plant is due to a light leak. (Added photos at end). It looks like they started veg again with some new leaves popping out the top. Sad times. I’ve covered up an air vent that could let light in on right side and moved timer to 12 hours from 13. It may have been from me increasing lights on to 12.5 then 13??? Picky phenotypes do that? Anyway, after harvest, I’ll run an intake pipe inside for fresh air and stop with the tent screen vent. The Left plant. Still going good. Was hoping for fatter kolas but I’ll take it. Day 48 - Trichromes macros uploaded. Added 100mL of AN Overdrive with 15 Liter top up. Currently 110 liters @ 1450 PPM

I have decided to name my 2 plants... the left beauty shall be called Natasha.... and the right plant is Pat. Took a few pics of Natasha using a standard 355mL can as a perspective to help compare sizes for later grows at day 50. Day 50 - Pat seems to have some buds that may be worth while harvesting, I will have to check it out after drying. It’s unfortunate about the night cycle light, but it has been corrected and my knowledge has increased. Day 52- Started with UV-B treatments, once at 15 minutes. Day 54- UV-B once for 1 hour. From now on in this diary, I will only be discussing Natasha. Harvest numbers will be one plant only. Day 55 - Started a flush, 125 Liters RO, 150mL florakleen. PPM 270. Day 56 - Drained, filled with RO. 66 PPM

Day 57- Did a light defoliation. RO water at 66 PPM. Running until more Ambers pop. Day 58- checked trichromes, ambers are showing up in clumps, I’d say about 15-20% amber trichs at the moment. PPM 55. Day 60: 4-5 day flush brings me to harvest. Cut down both plants, light trim of larger fan leaves and placed in tent. I used 2 scrog nets to hang the buds, worked ok, need to make tighter next time... too much droops! So far, First 24 hours of tent at 68 F and 70% humidity. At 48 hours 67F and reduced to 60% humidity At 72 hours 69 F and reduced to 55% humidity, maintaining till dry. Trying to get temps a little lower but no A/C... Trying to stretch drying time close to 14 days. Anything after 7 and I’m happy.

Dried in tent about 12 days. My inexperience in growing made this grow a bit of a headache at times. I got good news and bad news. The good news is, I got a shit ton of quality 100% feminized Glookies seeds. The bad news is, I got a shit ton of 100% feminized Glookies seeds. The left plant turned out good, it got pollenated from the hermie on right. I really like the bag appeal of Glookies with the left plant... the right hermie plant that revegged in week 3 still got 350 grams of average smokable buds. The left plant got 612.3 grams of pretty dense nugs. Still, even tho I pulled hundreds of seeds from lower buds and killed a lot weed digging them out, there are still a lot in the buds. Can’t wait for next Glookies harvest!!! 😀😃😄😁😆 Now what do with a shit ton of seeds? 🤔
