Blazin' Skywalker F1

The color fade coming out of Maz Pheno of Blazin' Skywalker is making me weak in the knees! Combine that with her heavy fragrance of sweet candy and I can barely keep myself composed! This week I checked her trichomes and I have mostly milky with some amber so I decided it was time to put Miss Maz in darkness with some ice. The idea behind ice flushing, or most of the other "finishing moves" you may see in the gardens of fellow growmies - is simply to add an extra stressor to the plant at the end of the life cycle to trigger the natural defenses of the plant to protect itself by pushing trichome and resin production. Oddly enough, there isn't any clear scientific proof that any of these techniques actually do anything at all - there just simple hasn't been enough real research - but the idea behind them is intriguing enough to have some growers (yours truly included) trying all kinds of things! Periods of darkness, ice flushing, cold water flushing, stem splitting - all of these are different finishing techniques with the same goal in mind - adding stress to the plant in an attempt to trigger its natural defenses. Nature is effing cool. 😎 Leia still has a bit to go with mostly clear trichomes. The bud structure between the two phenotypes is so very different. So, closing out the week with one under the lights and one in the dark with some ice. 😎
