I was looking for Tangie seeds from Crockett family farms. Its sold out everywhere I look. Citrique has interesting genetics and should produce memorable terpenes.. Looking forward to getting underway.

I thought I would be starting this diary with a seed based grow. Turns out that I am starting up this diary again with a diary about clones of Citrique.
What a wonderful plant. Its fast growing, the sativa in her assures one of that and the smell is very pungent, perhaps one of the most pungent and appealing smells I have come across so far... Therefore, here we are. While I am waiting to find worthy Cookies plants to use for a mono grow, these Citrique girl clones were ready for their planting and the phenos have impressed me with their potency. Lets see if I can control my growing variables well enough to see this one through, unlike the last.👊
Happy growing GD friends.

Citrique #1 was culled because of its lack luster smell. Her growth was vigorous enough. I would have grown her again had she smelt strongly.
Durban X Kush is a very intense plant. She is my safety if the Citriques don't make it through the run.
I am going to grow these ladies with minor pruning, contrary to my last grow where I didn't let any shutes develop below 3 nodes from the top.
or something like that. Lets see what happens.
I need much less vegetation in flower and tighter buds this run. I think I know what I have to do.
Cookies is along for the ride. Growing her for clones. Her growth rate is picking up.
All plants are under stress and have reverted to single blade leaves. One of the know causes, taking clones from a mum who is in flower. which is what I did. Another could be hormone related. Too many accelerators perhaps? or Vitamin B's?
Cheers and happy growing, grower friends.

This weeks observations. new fan leaves showing greater number of leaves, The girls are moving past the gender reassignment stage. The phase change slowed growth.
Still unsure whether the stress was resulting from nutes or taking clones in flower. Suspect accellurator and/or photosynthesis plus. They were the foreigners to my garden, but I could be wrong.
Another interesting thing I learnt this week about over vegetation:
1/2 the nutes when using mycho's.
Another: Don't over compact the soil when transplanting, and probably prune the roots a bit. This last run the roots did not spread into the 3 gal pots, not at all!! wif.
Happy growing GD buds,
I am off to visit Cali later this week. To sample the goodness in the land of OG.

Repotted the ladies before heading out of town. Added a new product by Elite91 called Jordan Myco. Keeping my ppm's low. They have had a week to recover. Still looking scrappy. It may take another few weeks before I have robust growth and enough to go into flower.
Deploying LST to keep canopy low so to maximize the perimeter of even light spread. They are spreading their wings. No issues.
Light is at 22/30/30. Just upped from 17/20/20 @ 4'.
Feeding only the water they need once a week. They are drinking about 5 oz per plant per day. Will give them a waste to drain feeding next round.
Trip to Cali was buzz. Sampled a lot of strains but fell for a lovely Bubba Kush. I like the metholated nose of the one I was testing and its type of euphoria. Light and laughy.
Met Mr Soul of Grimm Seeds at the IndoExpo show held in Richmond. He set me up with a few great strains from his collection. Check out my diary if interested. I am planting DTC99, and Cinderella XX.
Wishing you all well in GD land. Cheers.

No major issues, I dosed with CalMag earlier in week. The deficiency became apparent after LST. I think this process must contribute to this deficiency. Its the second time I have observed this phenomena. The last time was going into scrog, last grow.
I am hoping to improve the root structure this round. So far so good. The mycos are effective. I haven't had roots growing through the air pots before!
Leaf growth is almost back to veg format but offset leaf nodes have not quite disappeared completely.
I see evidence of some shoot stalks fattening. The first sign rapid veg growth is underway, I hope.
As I mentioned earlier, I am not adding any accelerators or boosters this run. Cogo's only. Growth is slower but I am Looking for better quality bud. Lets see what happens.
Happy growing GD friends.

Greetings GD friends.
The garden is moving ahead slowly.
New word for me this week, Decussate. ie leaves growing in pairs are decussate. Some of my clones, taken in flower stage are still showing signs of leaves emerging alternately instead of in pairs. I will keep vegging until this condition changes.
I have set up my preferred watering system this week. Once in place, watering and feeding are effortless and this set up gives me a lot of control. I can measure the amount of feed going to each pot and check run off if I feed to waste, which is how I fed the girls this last feed. 7.5/8 is the A to B nute ratio I am using, not the amount shown above.. Cogos nutes are very efficient so only need a 1/3 recommended dosage to hit 310 ppms.
TIL: I spoke with Mr Myco Jordan this week who tells me optimal results they achieve in their grow they do so by using a one part fert.
10 8 18. and adding Mycos at 2 tbs / 5 gals 2 or 3 x per week. I am at 9 7 12. I am upping my watering schedule from here on out.
P levels lower than 15% are important he says. High P puts the myco's to sleep which I thought was interesting. In other words, you're be wasting good myco's if you use them late in flower.
My canopy is thin and I have big holes to fill. Probably in veg for the next 3 weeks. Looking to pick up the pace of growth. Upping the ppms and regularity of feed/watering to 2 x per week, eventually.
Happy growing all,

Friends and bro-mates,
The garden is on automatic at this stage. A little bit of leaf tucking here and there. Weaving the shoots through the trellis.
This is time for patience as there is not much to do except to wait for the arrival of a full canopy.
The gaps are filling in but I expect it will take another 2 weeks, at least, before I can switch to 12/12. As mentioned last post, the shoot stems are thickening. Veg growth is picking up speed. The garden should be fun to watch from here on out. I like the water ring system. Its easy to use and the plant roots love the needle spray. It oxygenates the water when it hits the top layer to a point the top 3" of the pot will consist of a very dense network of roots.
My observation this week is: The red petioles and stem stage has past. We are growing through it. No Cal Mag needed. Cogo's only.
Happy growing to you all.

A very low key week in the garden. Plants are filling in the canopy slowly but surely. I am spending most of my time stuffing leaves below the scrog net and expect to be doing this for the next few weeks. Cogo's plant fert. is performing well. Leaves are looking good. No new signs of Mg deficiency or Ca deficiency. From here on out, plants are to remain in veg. while they work to bulk up the canopy in prep for flower.
Cheers, GD friends, and happy growing.

Painfully slow development but I did trim and rebuild the scrog last week so I could install my new secret weapon, a light mover.
The scrog is also wider and bigger than last week. Not my intention to go 3x3 but with light mover hot spots have been eliminated so this limitation longer matters.
There are Another couple of weeks before flower. Can't wait. The Citriques have a lovely nose. fuel-orange. ish. I am looking forward to smelling her terps.
Upped my nutes, 1 girl is showing signs of cal mag deficiency after 2 waterings on low nutes. Scrogging contributes to this also, it seems.
When I scrog, my petioles and stems turn purple. I am growing through this stage. No additives. I upped the light levels by 10% which contributes to the purpling also. I am starting to see quite clearly the tolerances of this strain.
Happy growing GD friends

Citrique #5 is slowly coming back into optimum growing zone. She was fairly stressed for the last 3 weeks and showing red petioles and stems. There is a slight yellow tinge to the leaf color compared to the other clones.
Like last time this happened 2 months back, I upped the nutes and grew through the redness stage. Optimal nute zone is only a minor nute adjustment away it seems. I am often surprised at how subtle weed sensitivity can be.
Looking for canopy to be 12" deep before switching to flower. At least 10 days away would be my guess.
best wishes to all my grower buds.

Another week closer to 12/12 and flower. I have my markers on the wall representing 12" canopy. The girls are growing well and I hope to hit the marker level before the end of the month, if I can be that patient.
I upped the nutes, keeping same A/B ratio, to eliminate the magnesium deficiency. The girls were hungry for more feed. You can see from a few close up photos the new growth is pink stem and petiole free. One more week and these girls will be in optimal health and ready for the flip. Can't wait.
I continue to shape the plants with light trimming aimed at focusing growth to the top shoots without slowing growth too much. Happy growing GD friends.
JUNE 25: ps. an observation. my canopy here is under fed. You can see it in the color of the light green leaves. What i can say 3 days later with upped nutes, the leaves have darkened and the mg deficiency has gone. 100ppm made the difference. Only 100ppm.
Should be obvious in next weeks post.

Flipping to flower today. Happy about that.
Changing nute ratio to 7/8 for the next week.
Got lots of new veg. growth this last week.
Planning to limit stretch by tuning my light to intensify blue spectrum and by under watering. Not visible here, but since taking photos, I have trimmed the lower leaves. Focusing plants on bud development.
Lets see how it goes. Lots of pre flowers. Transition should be quick.
Happy growing GD friends, bros, and bromates.

Hi GD friends,
Just back from adventures in Mendocino county. Took a trip up to Wonderland Nurseries, Garberville to pick up clones. This is in the heart of the Emerald Triangle and run by Mr Wonderful himself, Kevin Jodrey . Check out his video's if you don't know him already and you'll appreciate why I took a side trip 2 1/2hrs north of Santa Rosa where I was based. He has a passion for OG's. Its second to none. I picked up clones of Blood diamond OG, OG-Chemdog, Zkittlez, Creme Brûlée

Meanwhile while I was away, No real issues with garden except for the fact one of my ladies has balls. wTF. Not a hermie but I misread the sex earlier on. Damn. 1/4 of my garden just got culled. Replacing with Cookies and Cream ladies from the window sill. They are not as mature but this should be manageable, I hope.
Apologies for the lighting in my photos. Florescent gives a better rendering. Next time.

GD friends, My garden has a hole in it from where I had to remove the Durb Kush male surprise . Sad. The cookies replacing it are no where mature enough root wise and some of the leaves are still in the revegging stage. They are quite small compared to their Citrique breathren but 2-3 weeks of stretch to come so I hope to get some decent buds eventually. Fingers crossed.
I started trimming the Citriques, got a bit carried away. Budlets are forming quite quickly. Root system is really really solid thanks to Myco Jordan. I am very curious to see how this run turns out.
Mag deficiency has been quite a useful gauge for me. Stem purpling shows me when my nutes are too low. Not just when there is a Mag deficiency. The girls are hungry but responding well to higher and higher ppm feedings. Light levels are almost at max.
I tried controlling the stretch by not watering as often, every 5 days instead of every 3. I am not sure if it made one iota of difference. These ladies are lanky and I am running out of head room.!!
Looking forward to seeing first frost in about a week. Citrique smells beautiful.
Best wishes to you all.

Hi Friends.
The garden is moving ahead but for one major screw up. I am feeding with too high a ppm it seems. Plants are suffering from toxicity. Its like I am growing a cannabis version of Spanish moss up there! It happened to me last grow also. I have attempted the first step to recovery and 'watered' instead of feeding this last cycle. I added Elites 91 Roots a week ago. Wondering if this triggered the toxic veg? Pulling out for now and will continue to water only until I see the bud leaf growth recover. A painful process. Runoff was 380ppm which seems pretty good to me. My lights are now at 80% power. 80/80/80. I am hoping to get quality buds 2' deep into the canopy. I am measuring an average of 800 ppfd at the highest point. Enough for good flower quality, I believe.
Garden is now producing a sweet flower smell. Loving it. Leaves are in early frost mode. I need to keep my fingers off them. Its almost mid flower and my girls will have to kick into another gear to close gaps. Did I screw the pooch once again? Let's see what happens, bro-mates.
Happy growing to all.

GD Buds, This week I learned: Dosing with Elite 91 'Roots' too late in flower was adding too much Nitrogen to the mix and all other kinds of good stuff to make leaves grow and budlets over-veg. during flower. Probably encouraged the super stretch also. I dropped Part A concentration to 1/2, lowering the N. Feeding @ 400ppm. I should have read the label more carefully. Roots should stop early flower.
All good otherwise. I can see the end of this run. Its in sight.. Hoping to do a better job this time.
Happy growing to all.

Buds,
3 weeks out from harvest. Calyxes are starting to fatten, buds are firming up, smell is strong. Loving it.
Dropping the N earlier and more rapidly than guidance because of previous over nute-ing.
These girls sure are lanky but it seems most of the buds above the trellis are ripening at same rate. I may chop tops and give the lower reaches an extra week.
Photography is a work in progress. Thanks for your patience.
I think Grow Diaries needs a ' Frosty as Fuck' award. I want to enter. The Citriques are looking like they could be a contender.

GD friends,
The pistils are dying back although new pistil growth is still quite vigorous. The calyx to leaf ratio is more obvious this week as calyx are starting to swell. The room smells really nice. Very diesel-y but more floral. The fan leaves have plenty enough trichomes on them, I don't need to squeeze the buds to put scent on my fingers. I love the aromatherapy aspect of growing. Its one of growings great pleasures, IMO.
Feeding with only part B, diluting the 0/20 ratio to 600ppm.
Hard to say when finish will be. I have been vaping for the last 2 weeks.
My buds are at the end of their grow. They are greasy to touch and very smelly. My shit has usually dried out at this point so happy to be this close to harvest with buds in such dank condition.
Happy growing to all,

Hi GD friends and bro-mates.
The calyx trichomes are showing 50/50 clear to milky. Thinking I'll go for another week and chop the top 1/2 of the canopy and give another week of strong light to the rest.
I have started flushing. Run off is sub 100pppm and ph'd.
Not expecting much of a fade.
The ladies are still producing a lot of pistil. A vigorous flowerings stage with these ones.
Buds are a bit feathery. Not sure why. Warm room was probably a factor. But these girls are as dank AF, sticky and smelly AF also. The effects? These are early days but so far Citrique is uplifting to start, melt in with the couch 20 mins later. No question, she is strong and quite physical girl.
During drying stage with sample budlets, there is no hint of grass. Terpenes are over whelming. Its going to be a blissful autumn. Cheers all.
The cookies have 2-3 weeks to go.

GD friends. I am still harvesting. DAY 64. All is going smoothly. Harvested buds are sticky and smelly and getting more so as they dry. The lower unpicked buds are getting additional time in the sun, although to be honest, they are looking pretty much done now. I may pick tomorrow and start to prepare for the next run. Will get back in a few weeks with a more complete report. Citrique is the very intense. Not light weight stuff when smoking green bud. Curious to see what a good cure will do to this monster.
To her credit, calyx to leaf ratio favors the trimmer and the stoner. ;-) She is easy trimming. The stretch helped also.
Surprisingly, the late adds, Cookies and creams, has until Tuesday before harvest window opens. She is also very strong stuff. She's very up and expansive, physically speaking and I was thinking she was growing under suboptimal conditions. The next run will be interesting. C&C are getting 8 weeks to grow their roots. Much to look forward to. Cheers bro- mates. More details to follow. happy growing, all.000
