Started with 4, only this one survived. Had previous success with stonewool, but oversaturation of 4" block that plug was placed in caused problems early on.
Overwatered, probably fed nutes too early, causing seedling stress. Wrinkled, droopy leaves. Seedling plug to go into four inch stonewool cube in 3 gal bucket for perlite hempy.
Overwatered. First time hempy. Misjudged moisture of stonewool block from the beginning. Tried to avoid watering onto the stonewool. The 3-part AN ph perfect PH'ed itself to around 5.8, when this switched to Coco A/B, PH settled at 6. The other plants in this run were coco-perlite hempy, so even though this one didn't have any coco under it, it got the coco nutes. The plant didn't appear to suffer because of it (possibly until mid-late flower).
Photo is from end of week 8. Around this time, defoliated some under/side branches as there were several plants sharing space. This probably further stunted the plant. Wasn't going to use big bud initially, but after defoliating, started late.
Week 11, not nearly as sugarcoated as the stunted Canuk cheese auto growing next to it. The two have different smells. This one is more peppery smelling than the cheese.
Not ready. In addition to nute burn, noticed leaf spots--probably deficiencies from PH swings. Got too busy for a few days and let the plant drink down its hempy res. This may have caused PH swing.
Interesting that stress appears to have delayed and maybe elongated bloom phase. This is a resilient cultivar and/or pheno. About ready to check trichs. More leafy than preferred, probably promoted by environmental swings (no dehumidifier/humidifier; temps got cold (57F) at night and hot (80F) on some days)
Pistils on most branches are turning brown. About 5 branches on one side of the plant have buds swelling back up and showing white pistils. Still, buds aren't all that thick even with the swell. Trichs are still cloudy and clear, probably more than 50% cloudy with hardly any amber seen. It never got as covered with trichomes as the Cheese autos. Would like to go a little longer, but space is needed for unstunted Cheese still going in shared space. Began flushing with Flawless Finish. Will go to water only on last day of flush then 48hrs darkness.
Almost a first time grow and it went ok. Started four, but the others died in oversaturated stonewool. This one was the survivor and it flowered late and longer than expected based on CK's description. It has a fair amount of crystal on it, but never got as resinous as the Canuk auto cheese that grew next to it--that one had sugar leaves like rabbit ears. Early Miss has a smell distinct from the cheese--more peppery. It's not bad, but I preferred the smell of the cheese. Will post cheese run eventually.
This Miss withstood an oversaturated stonewool block. It went from paper towel method to four inch stonewool block to 100% perlite hempy in 3 liquid-gallon sized buckets. It really hung in there throughout the early over watering, some humidity fluctuations and later PH imbalances caused by not refilling res daily during a busy week. It also tolerated defoliations pretty well. It was pruned at unideal times throughout the grow. Weird nute run: started with Advanced 3-part PH perfect, but moved to their Sensi Coco Bloom because the other plants in the space were in coco-perlite hempys. Wondered what would happen, but it took to the change fine.
Next time, will go with AN bloom all the way through. It bulked up some in the last weeks and more than half of the plant developed new white pistils. Harvested in stages: first, the part of the plant that was looking ready and wasn't flush with new pistils, then the rest.
Overall, I learned a lot for next time. I would grow it again, but there are too many other cultivars to explore. It will be a while before returning to this one. This was my first hempy run and second CK grow. Previously grew Trainwreck auto to success several years ago in 100% rockwool.
Looks real good👊
I have some early miss seeds from the cropking😛
Going to try those and candy cane on my next grow🙏
Good luck on your next grow👍
Grow Big!!!
