Alright, so, my plan for this grow is: fox farm happy frog soil Topping with a bit of living soil which I just got. 5 gallon plastic pot Using river rocks as a form of mulch for now. Mh light for the veg and hps for flower. No nutrient line this time if I can help it. I've been looking at a lot of info about Korean natural farming and over the course of the grow I will probably be doing some experiments with those practices. So if I can get this baby to harvest happy and healthy I will be very happy. Also I will be doing a couple of other diaries at the same time so i should have a pic everyday but most of the weeks will probably be far less wordy. First week was a success, i was gifted this seed and I've never heard of this seed bank and there is really not much info out there about this particular strain. I'm hoping it's one of those super fast autos but who knows. As long as it puts out something decent I'll be happy.

Still alive. This part is kinda of dull. Day 10: topped up the pot with some dark matter living soil. Hope this helps the plant get the most it can out of the happy frog soil.

Curious to see if this is going to flower soon. The info I've found says it will around day 18. I would be truly happy if it did, I've been looking for a strain that is actually small and fast. Day 18: trying out some natural farming inputs. Fed with diatomaceous earth and fermented plant juice. Day 19: finally got some clover seeds to create a green mulch to protect the soil. Day 21: fed a little sprouted alfalfa seed tea.

Day 36: switched the hours of lights to accommodate the photoperiod plants in the tent. We'll see how it effects the growth of this auto. Day 38: growth has been unbelievably fast, about 2 inches every day Day 42: really regretting not training this plant. Its grown way pay past expectations in height

Day 43: this plant grew over 12 inches in one week. Not expecting this kind of height. Growth is slowing now about 1 inch per day but I'm quickly running out of room for her. Day 45: only half an inch growth today. Finally really slowing down.

Day 50: she finally stopped stretching, she's just to tall for this tent. I should have known better and tried to train her. Day 51: upon close inspection I realized that she is developing her first trichomes. Day 53: for those wondering the banana peel tea is high in potassium, some nitrogen and a little phosphorus to help with budding.

Day 57: top dressed with a mix of soil, worm castings, and gaia green power bloom, then watered in with compost tea. It was difficult to work through clover but, I cut them back a bit, put on the top dressing and pulled and fluffed the clover back up through the soil. Day 58: plant seems a little pale. Nitrogen might be running out. Hopefully my amendments won't be to late. Day 61: used some organic fish fertilizer that had a little nitrogen in it. Hopefully it will give her a boost to finish.

Day 69: soil ph is a little high and I think locked out magnesium. Flushed with a low ph watering. It is pretty close to being done, the buds are getting bigger every day but I don't think they'll be very dense. The smell isn't very strong but it is really sweet which is nice. We'll see how it cures soon enough

Day 73: she's looking great after the flush Last week. Gave her some compost tea to help rejuvenate the microbials in the soil. Seeing a little new bud growth everyday. Buds aren't pretty, they look like old school sativa buds with its calyxs' growing all over the place. The smell is very sweet and sour, looking forward to seeing how these buds cure.

Week 12. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

This thing grew like crazy after week 4, I wish I had used lst to reign in the height a bit as I had to really fiddle around trying to keep the light above without cooking the plant. The buds aren't that pretty, they look a lot like old school sativa style buds with foxtails growing all over the place. Let's just appreciate them for their retro appeal. The smell is great, very sweet and sour, and now that it has cured a bit, I'm getting a bit of a grapefruit type of smell moreso than pineapple. The only reason this plant lost points is because the specs I received from the supplier were pretty far off. 20+days longer from seed to harvest and well over a foot taller than the maximum height listed. I know variations can happen but it doesn't speak well to the stability of the seed from this strain.

So this didn't quite line up with the description from the supplier, but having different phenos is pretty common with multiple hybridization. I wish I had topped or lst'd this plant before it got to tall. Max height from the supplier said 31", but ended up 46".It just seemed to never stop growing. Easily growing two plus inches every day for a few weeks there. The clover ground cover was great up to the point I needed to top dress, at which point I just pulled most of them out. I'm happy with the overall health of the plant considering I was just using organic inputs. Something else to keep in mind is that this plant has only been getting 12 hours of light to work with because of the photoperiod in the tent. I decided to harvest when half the trichomes became opaque instead of waiting for Amber's. Besides the foxtails just keep getting longer by the day. Almost bordering on dr. Grinspoon type of foxtailing. I really want an active flying high out of this plant. The yield wasn't completely terrible, 39.5 grams, half of which will probably be used for oil of bubble hash. The estimated thc from the supplier was listed at 6-14% but there maximum height was also off by a foot so we'll just have to smoke it and see. Of course smoke report and all that will follow but will probably be at least 3 weeks. Thanks for checking this grow out. 04/20: well, I decided to try this one out even if it hasn't hit the 2 week cure mark. It's been curing 12 days now after a 7 day dry time. I put a bit in a bowl and I was surprised how smooth this was already. Decent flavor and the smell is now more citrus. Very deep sweet and sour smell. I could see how some might think it has that sort of pineapple smell but to me it leans more towards a grapefruit kind of smell. The high is nice, comfortable and clear headed, just a nice gentle euphoria. I didn't smoke a lot as I'm not a heavyweight smoker, and another time I will provide a report of how it is to have a larger dose of this stuff. P.s. sorry about all the ugly hps pics. It got to a point where it was just to much trouble with all my other plants to mess with the lights.

Plant looks good. Keep feeding, bring lamp a little closer. Btw what type of lamp and nutes are you using?

@indoorontario, Sounds good, looks good I’ll be watching I’m very interested in this unique grow, good job!

@Topsrite, the metal hallide light is currently about 12 inches from the plant (just cranked up to 400 watts), forgot to change that from seedling stage. Will be switching to hps soon as this auto is sharing a tent with two photo periods. For feeding I'm messing around with some homemade organic inputs; fermented plant juice, sprouted seed teas, calcium phosphate made from charred pork ribs, will be making compost teas as well. All inspired by korean natural farming and a website called homestead and chill, lots of great resources there. This grow is all about experimenting for me and trying to keep it organic and healthy.

What was you method of germinating the seeds?
indoorontario
indoorontariocommented5 years ago
@R3eveo, soak for 18 hours in RO water, then straight in to moist soil. I'll keep a clear plastic dome over it and they usually sprout within a couple of days
indoorontario
indoorontariocommented5 years ago
@R3eveo, I like to soak my seeds in Reverse osmosis water for 18 hours and then put them directly in the soil at about 1/8 inch depth. Never had a seed not sprout using this method. They usually pop out of the soil within 2 days.
