So today is finally the day! The waiting has come to an end! Four new Gorilla babies have arrived and they look fantastic! I germinated them in Easyplugs and they wanted to see the sun in 5 days. Today they were put into 1 liter Airpots to grow some roots and get strong. Well, let’s look how they will grow. Stay tuned and enjoy this diary 😉

Alright, here we go straight into week #2 The plants look really healthy. I let the substrate dry out once a week before watering again. The little gorilla babies seem to like it and keep on growing. The babies needed some help with stabilization within this week but on day 8 I released them from their sticks who‘d helped them pretty much through the week. Plus I had a high EC problem at the run-off that took me a few minutes to figure out what has happened. I used tissues to keep the coco from falling out of the airpots. So these tissues have filtered the fertilizer salts which caused an EC 2.7 at the run-off. I flushed the plants again to get the EC lower and when the EC was at 1.6 on the second flushing I knew it was the tissues who had created such a high EC on the run-off. So keep that in mind when using tissues! They are filtering your fertilizer! Happy growing y‘all!

Hey guys and girls and welcome back to week #3 On day 14 I repotted the little babies into 9 liter airpots. They are now little children and they get stronger each day. The roots were visible on each plant when I repotted them. I have to admit I did not give them water after repotting because I had another appointment. They hated me for that and when I came home all the leaves were hanging so I gave them immediately their needed dose of water. On day 15 I installed the automated watering system. Now they get their daily dose of nutrient mixture every day. The plants are growing really quick and I hope it will stay that way! Stay tuned and enjoy the diary!

Welcome to week #4 and enjoy watching the little kids growing up! The gorilla kids like their new bigger airpots and show this with their daily growth. The trunk is pretty thicc and the leaves are also getting bigger each day. Also the smell has improved. They were topped on Thursday and it hasn’t slowed down the growth much. They are strong! The plan is 1 or 2 weeks more vegetation and then they‘ll be sent right into flowering mode. So let’s hope they will grow as high as I want them to be before flowering. Stay high and tuned! 💚

Hey and welcome back to my diary and week #5! This week I removed some of the lower branches and some of the big leaves. The EC was constantly 1.5 and the ph wanted to raise everyday. I had to pull it down everyday. I really would like to know why this is happening. If somebody can answer me this question please leave a comment down there. The plants are growing every day and they are still looking really healthy! Some of the fertilizer salts are visible in the Airpot holes in the sides. But as long as they feel great and doing great there’s nothing to do than just keeping it straight forwarded and being patient. I will give them another week (or 2) in veg mode because there is still enough space to grow and then they will get their 12/12 sunshine: flower mode. So excited! If you have any questions about this grow, just ask in the comments! Any good advice is welcome!

Hi and welcome back to another edition of growing 4 Gorillas Babies 🦍 🦍 🦍 🦍 (they are grown-ups now!) Today I cutted some (a lot) of smaller branches and I hope the four ladies love their new haircut like I do! Even though there are some smaller problems with some CalMag missing which I hope they will be gone in a few days. I set the light circle to 12/12 which will make the plants ready for their flowering period. I‘m really excited how they will look in a few days, maybe I will upload some midweek photos. Their heads were hanging a little today because they were dried out until today before getting their first flower nutrients. They will surely like it. And we will see the love that is set into this grow! Stay tuned! 🌱

Hey y‘all! 2 of my 4 plants are showing up some defiencies. I have no clue what it is because it SHOULD be missing CalMag but I‘m feeding CalMag also to prevent from exactly this defiency - what can i do to get this straight again? Ph 5.5; EC 1.8 (tap water has 0.6)

@Hilkes_Herbs hi mate 5.5 is a bit low in my opinion your in coco so it should be closer to 5.7-5.9 I think the low ph is causing a minor potassium deficiency hence the pinkish discolouring Adjust the ph and your plant should return to normal

Yo what’s up guys & girls! Thank you for your support with my ongoing problems. I was told the ph was too low so I set it to 6.1 - and during this week I will see the results and keep you updated! The plants grew pretty well even with their problems and I‘m having high hopes. Also I used Purolyt for the first time during this grow to disinfect the tank and the coco. And I defoliated them again during the week because a lot of branches did not get enough light. So far the grow is doing pretty well and I am REALLY excited about the outcome this time! Stay tuned! 🌱

Yep, week #8! The plants grew a lot this week! They are almost bigger than me now! I defoliated them in the middle of the week to get some more light in between the branches and they seem to like it. Thank you again for the help with the ph! That was something I had to learn. But I'm on it now. 5.8 to 6.0 during vegetation. 6.0 to 6.3 during flower. That's the plan and it seems to work! The plants are more sativa-like! One is the most sativa I have ever seen! Stay tuned! 🌱

Welcome to week #9 with 4 tall ladies! I never thought they‘d grow this high but actually I‘m pretty proud how they developed. Also the blossoms appeared this week and the plants are still growing! The only thing that’s a bit critical is that high EC but I‘m already lowering it by just refilling pure water into the water tank. So far they haven’t shown any issues with that high EC but I don’t want to be risky. Stay tuned for more news about these four fabulous ladies 🌱

Hey and welcome back to the beginning of week #10 with the 4 Gorilla 🦍 🦍 🦍 🦍 ladies! The stretch is finally over (I hope). The buds are starting to form and getting thicker. The smell is still some kind of normal I guess or maybe I am just so used to the smell so I do not recognize how smelly they are. I really like how it's going on. Some of the plants are starting to lose some older leaves. I think it's because of missing light and because they focus on putting their energy into building up the buds. If you think it's NOT normal, please leave a comment and let me know. I am really excited how the plants will be in the end. I mean the buds ;-) They should be finished within 3 weeks, that's so freaking close to the end. But from this point of view maybe they will need one more week. I will decide this when it's time to do so. By the way: I have an USB microscope so stay tuned for some pictures of the delicious trichomes! 🌱 Smell exploded!

Hey guys‘n‘girls and welcome back to another week of four big Gorilla ladies! The blossoms are building up nicely and the smell became awesome! It‘s like standing in a fruity forest! I removed some bigger leafes to get some light to the lower places of the plants and yes it’s not even visible in this messy leaf forest. They grow so fast! The plants get their dose of water every second day and I let the automatic watering system run about an hour. I will upload some more pictures during the upcoming week, so stay safe y‘all and keep watching the diary! 🌱 Sunday madness: first microscope pictures of some trichomes

Week #12 We are getting to the final destination, time is running. The 4 Gorillas got bigger blossoms through the week. What else happened? Ah, Bloombastic is empty and due to Corona crisis (and the lack of money) not avaible at this point. The plants don’t seem to mind, they just grew bigger and bolder. Leaves that are not getting light are thrown off by each plant. In a few weeks their destiny will come! I‘m so excited! 🌱

Hey y'all and welcome back to Hilke's Herbs with 4 mighty Gorilla lads! The blossoms still growing and getting bigger but also some of the trichomes are already on the Milky Way. I saw a few amber trichomes under the microscope also. Usually I wanted to grow the plants for 2 more weeks but I think at this point 3 weeks is better. Not sure if I harvest them in 2 weeks though. We will see. As it is the BEGINNING of the week there can happen so much during the week. I'm excited and I will keep you updated. The plants keep losing dead leaves that do not get enough light. The distance between the blossoms is kinda weird. Some of the plants are good with it some are not. Stay tuned! 🌱

Welcome back to another edition of Hilke's herbs with the 4 Gorilla ladies. This upcoming week I will start flushing with pure tap water but I will down the ph to 6.2 - the plants are still in very good condition and they are almost ready to get harvested. Some branches can't hold their own weight so I sticked them in between the bigger branches to get some hold. Time is running, tick tack... 🌱

Unfortunately I could not take the wet weight. Something to change next time again. I made a dry trim and I think it’s better than the wet trim because your scissors won’t get that sticky. It’s no time saver though! I had a lot of popcorn buds because of missing light down where the buds were. Next time I will use a Scrog net and cut everything away under it. Also the loss of bloombastic during the grow was bad. The weight is okay but I have to admit I expected more. A lot more to be honest. I mean I want to get better and don't wanna get stuck just in "medium" quality/weight. My aim is to get the best quality and weight as possible. I could have done "more" and I could have avoided some mistakes here. It was probably not the strain but my mistakes during the grow. That's why I'm here: Improvise! Adapt! Overcome! Stay tuned and enjoy growing your own plants everyone! Last words for this grow: They say it's easy work but actually it is NOT. There is a lot to do, to check and to care. I see a lot of peeps on here who try to grow their own weed and fail on all levels. But also I see a lot more successful growers. Their experience and advice is just so GREAT! Love what you're doing and you will be doing it good!
