Hell yeah, what a grow! That’s the summary we’ll go with on this one. She wasn’t the biggest or stinkiest, but she was definitely the prettiest and most manageable plant we’ve grown to date. Humboldt seems to put out some incredible genetics and this one was so much fun to watch. She did go longer than planned and the extended flush may have added a little too much stress - she was showing signs of a very late flowering hermie and the nanners were starting to show when we brought ‘er down. Thankfully, she held on long enough to avoid disaster, the trichs rounded out nicely and I don’t think much of anything suffered from it.
Despite the late stress hermie issue she’s pretty close to a 10 here: 1:😎: 1:😎
Taste & Smell: 🍭🍭🍭
Effects: 🍭🍭🍭🍭
The scent profile on this girl was entirely true to her lineage. There was an obvious and earthy kush smell and at the later stages of flower the fresh baked cookies scent started to come out. While not overly strong, it’s still got some complexity and definite bag appeal. Above average 3-lolli rating here.
Post-dry update - As far as effects go, this ones a brain bender. My initial thoughts are a cerebral euphoria but well see what the final verdict is with more testing: 1:. For now, a three lolli rating without a proper sample size.
Update - date unknown - sweet holy fuck terds I wanna ride a train load of this shit alll day! She’s an absolute knockout of a sativa. Secretly, this strain is everything that I wanted Humboldts 707 to be, hardcore, mind numbing confusion and euphoria. This might be one of the best any time strains I’ve ever had: 1:. Def. gotta bump the rating to 4 lolli’s cuz I can’t feel my face right now👌.
Botanicare is tried and true for me in terms of liquids. Been using most of their line for years. Beware the base is essentially a higher powered calmag. Would recommend these to anyone for just about any application. Hydroguard really wasn’t utilized as we’ve generally found it more reliable to spike the res. With peroxide instead.
Hey, the buds are juicy, sparkling with trichs and smelled like a dream coming off the plant. I think it worked so I’ll keep using it until I run out😉: 1:
Medium:
Look, I love coco/soil, organic/synthetic just as much as anyone. I’ve never really hated on any particular method and each has its uses depending upon the environment. That being said.... hydro is likely to be the predominant indoor method for us going forward. It ticks all the boxes that the average hobby grower is looking for. Maintenance is generally pretty easy, while I’ve found myself monitoring ph and tds more frequently, I’m still only mixing nutes once a week instead of three. The hassle factor is crazy mitigated here: 1:. From a sustainability perspective, nute consumption is wayyyy down, saving more dolla bills y’all!
Added bonus is that veg. Growth rates are just insanely fast. Easily a 2 week savings in time pre-flower🤟😎😳.
It is a little bit of a tricky medium but once you dial in the ratios - smooth sail’n the whole grow. I can focus on training/maintenance instead of feeding🤟🤟.
If there’s a drawback to DWC it would be that I’d have concerns about leaving it for more than a couple days when she’s in full flower. They just drink so much that It’s a constant top off. All told, far and away the most effective and economical medium we’ve used😎.
Method 🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️
Under this COB light system, the best method to date has definitely been a mainline. It’s got so much canopy penetration that we’re pulling down 16” long colas packed with well developed buds. The mainline training didn’t take long in DWC - roughly 4 weeks of veg. And she was ready for the flip. We only extended it a further 2 weeks to keep pace with another grow in the same space. Otherwise, I would’ve cut the veg. Time back to 4 weeks which would’ve made the behemoth of a root ball a little more manageable. We also iceballed the res. With frozen water bottles twice a day throughout the grow. Just to keep temps down and avoid any potential issues. Whether or not there’s a better, more efficient way to get these kinds of results remains to be seen. We’re still trying to strike that balance between faster veg. Times and maximized yields. If anything, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the hermie issue at the end had something to do with the root ball binding on itself due to size. The true culprit was an unanticipated light leak but still - The ball could’ve been 2/3 the size and likely have produced similar results🤷♂️. I’m giving the method a slim 4 because it was a great success but too long a veg.
Yield/Harvest🌴🌴🌴🌴
Regardless of the final number, we had hoped that the yield would’ve been bigger. She’s a beauty of a plant but didn’t really puff out as much as we were hoping for. At least not a mainline on a 6 week veg. At 5.125oz we’re obviously not complaining and the colours in late flower were some of the best ever seen😎👌😎👌. What she did yield was frosty, dense and surprisingly stinky AF. I see no discernible difference in the quality of the terp. Profile vs. Any of our previous organic soil grows. For those who tout this as an advantage in soil media, I say get urself a bucket and a bubbler, then we’ll talk. Hydro is just straight up awesome: 1:. 4 palm trees on the yield - any haul north of 5oz is a great addition to the cellar: 1:😎: 1:😎.
Props - many thanks as always to the gd folks who made the platform available for us all. Big pound to all those at the boof party. Got a bunch of outdoor and couple clones to tend to now. Hopefully be see’n all you peeps around. Thanks for stopp’n in👊.
@WildeWeed, no doubt dude. It’s gonna be hard to go back to any other method after this grow. This plant is gonna easily contend for my biggest and best indoor grow ever👌🤙👍😎. Saw urs too - no slouch there either eh👍
The key to a healthy plant is in the roots 👌
That's a crazy looking rootmass and that central stem is HUGE 🤗
Defintely could hold some weight when the time comes 👍
Well done!
With love from Humboldt County✌️
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@TheBudWhisperer, Thank you for the kind words and positive feedback my friend 🙏
Your doing fine work so far 🤗 Keep it up 👍
Stay safe in these trying times 🙏
Kind regards ✌️

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, truer words never spoken. Thanks for the support and yes indeed - she gonna hold some serious weight in short order👍. Fantastic beans u guys have👌
@TheBudWhisperer,
Oh yeah. Your well aware of my venture into this stuff. Lol. It seems we’re both starting to get it a little better dialed in for sure.
Fan and practitioner of realtime dumbassedness and stoned diatribes right here ✋I appreciate an honest journal - way more informative and entertaining 👍Looking forward to seeing the end result.
@stunflower, thanks for the kind words! Hydros proven a whore of a challenge recently. But all’s well and I gotta stop gett’n stoned before work’n on the girls! 😂👊
@mr_h_kovert, cheers Mr. Kovert! I’m hoping so indeed. Got a great plant in coco for this side-by-side throughout the grow so we all might learn something👍. If not, I’m still gonna end up ripped anyway🤘. What a great hobby 😂
With that vertical stretch now over we can clearly see that all focus is now on bud/flower production 🤗
Loving your work so far my friend 👌
Keep it up and please stay safe out there 🙏
Kind regards ✌️
Team-HSO..
@TheBudWhisperer, Great genetics create great plants but to show the world what our genetics can do, we need growers such as yourself 🙏
Really, beautiful work 🤗
Don't forget the pre harvest update 👊
Stay safe my friend 🙏
Kind regards ✌️
Team-HSO..
Not to much longer for this beautiful looking plant 👍
Another 7 days at most and it'll be harvest time 🤗
Not long now 🙏
Stay safe out there 😷
Kind regards ✌️
Team-HSO..
@Wicked_Stix, cheers buddy! BTW - got some clones on the go right now and you weren’t kidding. The maxi line is proving its worth. Half the price of my usual nutes and easily gonna last twice as long. I’m a still a little shocked that u can get that much value. Proof that nutes are over marketed and overpriced by a huge margin...🙄. Thanks again for the intel👊
@Lebowski, careful there buddy! Once you try it you might never go back😉. But it is truly an amazing way to grow. I’m now converted for sure (at least for indoor).👍😎👊
