Day 36 - Pulling back from 2.5 tsp to 2 tsp on trio nutes because far left plant has some possible nute burn (yellow tips). Added Cal Mag 1 tsp per gallon as of last night due to Afghan plant looking like it needed Calcium. Day 37 - Added humidifier. Finally able to get the humidity up.

Grow Questions

Ive got 6 plants, 2 plants per strain. In 2'x4' closet tent. I plan to choose the best plant of each strain and transplant (into 5gal pots). How do I choose the best plants? Tallest, bushiest, darkest? Example: Blueberry has one dark one and one much bushier lighter colored one.

Hey Growmie ... When picking a pheno it's suggested to grow out each plant until they are 6-12โ€ tall, or big enough to clone. Of course, you will discard some of the phenos based on their poor quality and keep the ones that have good qualities. After about 8-10 weeks of flowering, these original phenos will be ready to harvest for buds. Some phenotypes might finish sooner than others and each will probably be slightly different. Now you will discard some of the phenos based on their poor quality and keep the ones that have good qualities. Most growers are looking out for traits such as: Growth structure: The plantโ€™s height, weight, build, density, and root strength Hardiness: The plantโ€™s reaction to temperatures, dependence on water, resistance to mold and pests, and overall strength Terpene profile: The aroma coming from each flower Appearance: The budsโ€™ color and structure Trichomes: Either lanky with small heads or short-stalked with fatheads Peak maturity: How early the plant is ready for harvest Hopefully, this was helpful and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

I live in a hot and dry desert climate. Tent is around 81F in the day and 65 at night. Is this temp drop a big problem? I have a small heater I can use at night pointed at the tent if necessary. Humidity also a problem (38 in tent) but I am trying to bump it up with a humidifier.

Hey there, I also grow in a semi (ha ha, some say desert) arid climate. I use grow cabinets, in dry ambient room humidity levels. During the early stages of veg, my levels were always around 25-30%. This did not seem to affect growth rate. After the plants get big, and more water is used, transpiration (evap of fabric pots as well) added 10% more humidity. Unless the seed developer recommends a certain humidity range, it really isn't an issue to me. As far as temp ranges go, I have gone from 80F to 65F, consistently with no issues, with all of my strains. Some pundits say, no more then a 20 degree diff, between high/low. OF course some strains stop growing at certain low temps, so research your strain, and some grow tips for them.

Having issues where 2 of 3 of my plants have leaves curling downwards. One plant's leaves are turning a bit more yellow when compared to a healthier dark green plant. When I water, usually no water drains from the mesh pots. Part of the issue? Or a heat or nutrient issue?

Hello.. Hope you are well.. I just looked at ur dairy and tbh it looks like a slight over feed at sum point and ur day temp is a wee bit on the high side.. If possible try to cool down ur environment and give them a complete flush wit plain water @ph6-6.2(this will help break any nasties out) and maybe give a stress reliever like superthrive or an organic version.. Resume like normal after flush out but cut bk a little bit on her food.. Its always easier to add more on nxt feed than to flush out cuz of 2 much.. Stay safe n gud luck with her.. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

My Critical Cure plant has the issues in title, plus burnt tips. Only affect parts of the plant(?) the issue is also a bit on the Afghan. People answered Nitrogen excess may cause the curl. But the yellowing looks like lack of Cal/Mag? My Cal Mag has lots of Nitrogen.. though..

Hello.. Hope you are well.. Do not give her anything but ph'd water now.. - no cal/mag either.. Just plain water @6-6.5.. Her leaves are just the outcome of her earlier feed issues.. Stay safe n gud luck.. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

I am near the harvest window; day 51, out of 55-65. Last week they had reg water only due to nute burn issue. They have about 1/3 milky trichromes but still mainly clear. Should I feed them their food again, or continue flush until harvest? Should I use TDS meter (what to check?)

Okay again the Wide idea is that Flushing really does something.. Read this. https://www.rxgreentechnologies.com/rxgt_trials/flushing-trial/... Okay Ideally we would not want that type of saturation in Cannabis at all because plants are biologically programmed not to move nitrogen around like People think it would..

Hey :-) Look with a microscope ๐Ÿ‘ŒIf the trichome heads are about 70% milky and 30% clear, you can start with the flush. If the trichomes are about 70% milky and 30% amber, it is a very good time to harvest ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป but do not pay attention to the leaves of the trichomes on the buds ๐Ÿ‘

Hi! I think it's best to just keep on giving water only or if you have somekind of flushing/ final solution you can add that ofc. The time of harvest is coming and my first girls took almost 2weeks from 70% clear to being 70%Cloudy and rest amber. If you want to use tds meter you can flush with some runoff and measure the tds of that runoff to see how much nutrients is in the soil still. The bigger the difference the more there is nutes left. Optimal situation would be that all of the nutes have been flushed or used by the plant before the harvest and the girls start to use the nutes stored in the leaves to get better taste ans smoke

Growers have said my plants are burnt/curling due to nute burn, but I noticed that they are only particularly bad on the upper leaves and the sides of the plants that are more directly under the lamp. Is this light burn? What do I do? Ive been flushing but the burn continues.

Hello buddy.. Hope u are well.. As we av all been trying to resolve with u.. Yes its both.. But a combination of both is why ur middle plants wer effected mostly.. Obviously its a wee bit cooler on the outsides of tent wer air flow is easiest.. But leaves are still burning at tips.. Once problems arise with cannabis it csn b very difficult to resolve these by time of harvest unless in veg stages.. Flowering problems are harder to rectify because she's already on the path to finishing.. If possible on ur mxt grow just b more cautious with heat.. Aim ur fans at slightly upwards bringing fresh cooler air from ur vents up thru ur canopy and another fan on lights to cool them down.. Maybe try to invest in either a big outtake fan or add a slightly smaller intake fan to help keep cooler air directly into room n not thru just being vacuuming by outtake fan.. All other factors seem great n uve just been unlucky tbh.. It happens to us all.. All u gota do now is think howcan u get round this problem n stop it happening again.. Wen all leaf is trimmed off n she in curing she will look alot better.. If u can fix these problems ur yeilds will definitely increase as ur plants will b healthier.. Stay safe n gud luck in future gardens.. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Hey man great grow. I had the exact same problem with my leaves, growing in foxfarm soil. I think its both a ph and magnesium deficiency. I seem to have got this when I started PHing the water, as weird as that sounds. After I just started watering without PHing, it seems to have stopped.

@@SpiderJar, Well thats good to hear. I think that I will be following your grow cause its very similar to mine. Lets hope things are all sorted out and we get some tasty buds my friend.๐Ÿ˜œ

@Thundrfuk, mine seems to have gotten better after transplanting to the 1gal pots. I am now adding the nutes which should further help. Only the lower leaves are affected so fingers crossed... Edit: mine is also fox farm soil. I didnโ€™t see a place to put that in the diary specs but I should write it in the notes !

At this point I would use something to help the with uptake. Microbe powders. or If you continue to flush sledge hammer by fox farms will help with solid build up or nute lockout. Also check your run off ph.
