watered with lemon for ph down and recharge. had to stake the c4. too much stretch. light was too far away. harvested 4 plants. collected feminized pollen from c4 branches treated with colloidal silver. so far i really like the structure of the gelato. stout and strong. too much foliage. a ton of leaf. but it produces grenade buds. more sweet skunky smell than the blackberry and c4 which smell rich and fragrant like perfume. 3 more plants should be ready by end of week to harvest. wont know dry weight for a week or 2. --------------------- *UPDATE* Top dressed with dte bio-live and dr. earth grow at half strength. watered with lemon for ph down, botainicare cal/mag/iron at a little less than full strength and recharge. Harvested a blackberry after 48 hrs of dark. Smells wonderful. Very fragrant/perfume smell. Two c4 plants are almost ready for harvest. not enough amber trichomes yet. 1 c4 is in 48hrs dark for chop. *this website wont let me update my day/night temps for some reason. day 80f night 73f rh 50% ------------ Harvested c4. Pretty big yield. two c4's left. Germinating photo-period seeds. Unknown local old head genetics. Might try to turn these into autos.

*Note: Check out my new grow diary! Just germinated unknown photoperiod plants! *Note:The website wont let me update my room temps. Day: 80F Night:73F RH: 50% WEEK 6 and 11 The plants are doing fine. The 6 week olds doubled their size which is normal. I need to pollinate these plants but I think I should hold off until their pistils are bigger. Thoughts? Also, the two C4 plants (week 11) still don't have any amber trichomes. Its taking forever! I am using an old jewelers loop to look at sugar leaf trichomes. I would like to upgrade to a cheap digital wireless microscope soon. 1.) Colloidal Silver Treatment I started spraying the lower branches of the gelato auto with colloidal silver twice a day. I haven't heard of anyone using one plant to produce feminized pollen (on the bottom branches) + seeds (on the top branches). So i am going to try that out with the Gelato plant. 2.) Harvest week 11 I dried and trimmed a C4, Blackberry and a Sweet Gelato (all autoflower plants) I do not have the dry weight yet. Still waiting on 2 C4 plants to get some amber trichomes. I really thought they would be mature by week 9. Bummer. 3.) Rearranged lights in room. 4.) Strain Review (uncured) Sweet Gelato Auto I am really a fan of the Sweet Gelato Auto from Sweet Seeds! They were free seeds so I thought i'd try them out. Glad I did! It is heavy on the indica side with tons of earthy sweet auroma and dense buds. I am eager to cross breed it. C4 and Blackberry Auto Some phenotype variation with the c4 where some plants looked almost identical to the blackberry. They both have a really (weird to me) pyramid bud structure. That is probably good for pressing and concentrates. This seems to be Sativa dominant because it grows tall (mine are over 3ft) and has sparse foliage and thin leaves. Blackberry smells like beer shits. Super perfume. Blackberry-Earth-Fragrance. Almost too much for me. C4 smells a little less like perfume with a sweet almost citrus smell. Blackberry and C4 have very few leaves compared to the Gelato. (less trimming!) I think that I am going to scratch in some DTE sea bird guano for flower in a week or so. Thanks for all the comments, help and support. Great community! Lots of knowledge! ------------- *update explosive growth. started some LST moved 11 wk olds into 48 hours dark for harvest. first sign of amber trichomes. just a couple but im ok with that. I Topped the bruce banner ------------- 3/8/20 update 1 yellowing on autos new growth is super yellow on the autos. i will water with 6.2 ph water and cal/mag/iron with recharge and see what happens. i didn't run into this with the last grow. the photoperiod bruce banner is doing fine. 2 pollinating autos using feminized c4 pollen i made with c.s. from my last grow, i pollinated the auto plants using a q-tip for an applicator. 3 chopped and hung two c4 plants for harvest. 4 c4 plant dried and ready for cure

My Auto plants at week 6 have formed pistils. I don't feel like they are quite mature enough to pollinate yet. I am basically at the halfway point of this grow. I don't want to miss the window to have fully mature seeds. Any pollination methods/advice?

It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks for auto seeds to mature so you have some time. I would give them a week or 2 to grow more pistils before pollinating. Don't stress about the seeds maturing because you can run seed making plants a few weeks past when you would normally harvest. I have pollinated autos 4 weeks into flower and got good seeds. I did a diary on making autoflower seeds you can check out also. Good luck!

1. Pollinated the autos with a cotton swab. 2. Cut 2 c4's and trimmed a third for cure 3. Spraying gelato with c.s. on the lower branches 4. Watered with lemon for pH down, Cal/mag/iron and recharge (forgot to add seabird guano. Have to wait till next water) ----------- C4 is getting tall. Have to keep tying it down. ------------- It looks like the pollen took. Pistills are turning brown on all the plants. I keep spraying colloidal silver on the bottom branches of the gelato. Hopefully I can get pollen and seeds off the one plant! Cool experiment.... But it's my last gelato! So I hope at least I get some c4 x gelato seeds. -------------- banner is getting big. topped and FIM'ed a couple spots. also some LST.

Gelato Auto Gelato auto has been experiencing severe Cal/mag/iron deficiency. Watering with botanicare Cal/mag/iron, recharge and lemon for oh down. I have been spraying the lower branches of the gelato with colloidal silver at approximately 80ppm once a day. No signs of pollen sacs but I've noticed from the last c.s. experiment that pollen sacs don't form until late into flower. So we will keep our fingers crossed. The upper part of the gelato plant was pollinated with C4 pollen. I used qtips to apply the pollen and I applied pollen twice. Just in case. Blackberry Auto The Blackberry plant is as small as the gelato with a 6 large buds. Very unusual bare looking plant. Hardly any foliage. So far it's smaller than my previous Blackberry plants. It has some rust spots. In the future I will need to feed more Cal/mag/iron in it's early stages. Probably in week 3 if I keep the same nutrient line and medium. The Coco really eats up the iron I've noticed. C4 The C4 is a healthy robust plant that hasn't shown any signs of nutrient deficiency. It's full and budding great. It's calyx are fat and pistills are orange. Bruce Banner Photoperiod Bag Seed This is a massive bushy plant that keeps topping itself. Seems like a real power house. No signs of defiencies. I've topped and fim'ed it multiple times which wasnt necessary at all. Healthy as hell. I'm going to try to turn this banner into a F1 fast version and an autoflower with the help of feminized C4 pollen or I will collect it's pollen if it's a male. I will probably wait until next week to switch to 12/12 and see if this is a male or female. I have too much electric on one breaker so I can only run two 400watt lights at a time. Need to run new electric for my 2x3 Photoperiod room I haven't used yet.

Gelato made pollen sacs that should open in about a week. Seeds should still form on top cola. The black berry ended up being a runt. 3 bud sites and no foliage. It should produce some seeds. The C4 is doing awesome. Not super tall but healthy with tons of bud sites. It will probly give at least 2 oz. And hopefully lots of seeds. About half the buds look pollinated. The Bruce banner is the only Photoperiod. It's doing great. Showing preflowers so I took some clones. My first 3 clones died. Not enough humidity without a dome. Bought a jiffy starter pack and used the peat pucks and humidity dome and all the cuts look good now. Switched lights to 12/12 to see if that will push seed production on the autos and make the banner flower.

Major temp issues with spring time coming. Heat went up to 90F. Ordered an inline fan and carbon filter kit. Seeds are maturing on the blackberry but not popping through the calyx yet. C4 is behind on maturing but is the healthiest autoflower right now. The Bruce banner is huge. Want to take a bunch more clones before putting it into flower. The gelato and blackberry is mature trichome wise but the seeds aren't finished which is a shame. Going to run them until seeds mature. The gelato made pollen sacs but I only sprayed two branches so I didn't get hardly any pollen. It's super cool that I got pollen and seeds from one plant!

Blackberry x c4 seeds are mature and splitting calyx! The trichomes haven't turned amber yet. Gelato's trichomes are degrading. Plants ready to chop but it's seeds are still green! Ugh. C4 has a couple more weeks to go. Super healthy. Bruce banner has been defoliated a bit and is resting under a blue veg light. Clones aren't taking root. Going to buy a heat mat to see if it helps.

I'm sorry to say this but on a budget I think you may have to cut some holes... Still shouldn't let the smell out as long as you don't cut too many and the exhaust fan is always running....A better tent could also take care of your needs depending on budget. I hope this helps....I would say smaller fan but I think even that would fail with a 4 inch vent... happy growing ✌️👊

Gelato is not producing seeds as far as I can tell. Getting a little pollen. I think all the c.s. on top of being pollinated stressed her out a bit too much. Getting healthy seeds from the blackberry and c4. C4 needs a week or two more before mature. Added a 6" out take fan and filter with temp controller. Lowers heat 3 degrees in one minute! Just up'ed my grow game 50%! Complete environment control. Supadope!

Throughout this grow I harvested 4 Blackberry autos by Fastbuds. They all averaged 12 weeks from seed to harvest running 18/6. Easy grow. The smell is fantastic. Super strong fragrant berries! Doesn't even smell like cannabis. The taste is strong, floral and unmistakably berry. It hits me instantly with an intense wave of body anxiety that shortly morphs into pure indica couch lock. The buds don't get too dense and have a pyramid/grenade structure. Blackberry doesn't have hardly any foliage whatsoever, so trimming is a matter of pulling off a few leaves. The MOST purple strain I have ever seen! Dark almost black with orange and white pistils. Super gorgeous. Some people I have shown didn't think it was real until they tried it! Super resinous. Not my favorite strain but the best purple I have personally seen hands down!

The last Blackberry was a runt. It was also the only Blackberry I had left to breed. I had some major environment issues moving from a closet to a DIY panda film "tent" room that may have contributed to the unusually small growth in the last plant. The last plant ended up being 22 grams wet weights after extracting all the seeds. The whole point was to breed a Blackberry with a C4 Matic and it was successful. I ended up with 350 viable Blackberry x C4 Matic seeds! 😎 starting 6 for next grow!

Cleaned up the Bruce banner. Super cropped her. Took clones. 3rd times a charm. Have a proper humidity dome and heat mat. Gelato is making seeds. They are not mature yet. Still white. The trichomes are past 25% Amber. Waiting on seeds unfortunately. C4 is doing great. Still not filled out all the way.

This was an experimental grow. I used c.s on the bottom branches and got pollen. I also pollinated the top cola with C4 pollen. The seeds did not want to mature. I got a couple brown seeds but the majority are small and white. This might be weird genetics because the original seeds I got from sweet seeds were comedically small and I didn't think they would germinate. I could have run the plant longer but it's all ready week 14 of a grow that supposedly should take 8 to 9 weeks. Hopefully it's seeds germinate. Can't wait for gelato x c4!

Going to make Dr. Earth bloom tea. -------- Made tea: 1/2 cup Dr Earth home grown 1/2 cup Dr Earth flower girl 1 gallon tap water 7 pH 1 tspn botanicare cal/mag plus 1 tspn molasses Let it sit overnight. pH is about 6.2 after everything's mixed.
