Week 1. Vegetation
I've heard a lot of back-and-forth about whether or not you can up-pot autos, so I thought I'd give it a shot myself and see how it goes; I want to see if it results in any kind of difference in root development. I started this one in a small fabric seedling bag (they're about $1 for 100 of them on Amazon), the soil is FF Bush Doctor Coco Loco soil mix. I put it in the same tent as my other 3 autos and it was a little too far from the light so it stretched on the first day, I'll bury it up to the neck when it comes time to up-pot. I plan to up-pot just before the tap root hits the bottom of the bag so I can transplant with as much root mass as possible but without having to expose the tap root to any trauma.

Day 9 - Got some little roots poking through the bottom of the seedling bag today. Will probably transplant today or tomorrow, then we'll see if it stalls or if it keeps going without any hesitation. Day 10 - Transplanted. Pretty sure I screwed up everything that could be screwed up in a transplant. Dropped the stupid thing, broke the plug in half, didn't bury it deep enough, tried to re-bury it... We'll see if it continues to grow and if it turns into a decent sized plant. Day 11 - Seems like it's doing fine despite my efforts to end it's life. I thought for sure it'd be withered or droopy, but it seems strong and happy. Now we'll see if growth stalls or not. If it continues on strong, I may adjust my technique and continue with the transplant method every time. I always thought the trouble with transplanting would be slow plant growth afterwards, I didn't anticipate the slow growth being a result of my fat-fingered clumsiness... oh well! I figured destroying the roots wasn't enough so I decided to top it. Some of these have been getting too tall for my tent and the top colas shade the sides too much.

Day 31: after getting back from a couple days away, I noticed it topped itself, 2 strong tops with a third smaller one. Day 33: trying some LST to open the top so I don't have 2 colas growing right up against each other. Day 34: pulled some big leaves covering the nodes growing in near the bottom. I'd normally strip the lower nodes, but since I killed the second branch I'm going to see if I can get the bottoms to grow in better. Day 35: attempted more lst, snapped top right branch. This one may grow back in place, we'll see. I've never snapped branches doing LST before, I don't know what my problem is with this plant.

Looks like I'll be starting the flowering journal next week. Lots of vigorous growth happening right now. Not quite stretching, but it's getting close. Also, despite breaking a branch yesterday, it hasn't missed a beat. The broken branch has stayed full and green so it's healing fine! Day 39: Major defoliation Day 41: LST and defoliation Day 42: 1gal @ 6.5ph, .25tsp Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom. More LST and defoliation. Nice even canopy on this thing. Despite losing half the plant early on, I'm expecting a decent harvest on this one; everything is filling in really nicely.

Day 47: should have watered a day or 2 ago, it was droopy AF this morning, I gave it 1 gal plain water today @ ph 6.6. I was also able to lower the light to 18"; last night I harvested the 3' tall plant that made me have to set the smaller plants on plastic bucket risers and keep the light jacked up to the roof of the tent. Day 48: Looked REALLY droopy this evening, picked up the pot and it was light as a feather despite giving it a gallon of plain water the morning before. I watered it in the evening: 1gal 6.5ph, 1tsp Tiger Bloom, .25tsp Big Bloom. Day 49: 1 more gallon plain water 6.5ph Been pretty droopy, also drinking a LOT of water, about a gallon every 24 to 36 hours. Maybe getting the lights a few inches closer did it? If it doesn't improve in the next day or two I may back the light off a couple inches.

Day 50: Pot was totally dry, light as a feather, watered again with 1gal plain water 6.5ph. Day 51: Expected pot to be really light again, but this time it seems that it didn't drink it all overnight, so I didn't water this morning. Day 53: Noticed the top leaves are a really light green and there are dark brown spots on some leaves. Pretty sure it's Cal Mag def. Watered 1gal @ 6.5ph, 1tsp Flowering Cal Mag & 1 tsp Tiger Bloom. Day 54: A bit perkier this morning than it's been recently, good sign. Day 55: Droopy again, pot was light and bone-dry. Hit it with another gallon of water @6.5ph, 1tsp N-CalMag, .5 tsp Tiger Bloom.

Grow Questions

This thing has gotten really droopy over the past few days. It seems to perk up toward the afternoon, but gets droopy again hours before lights out. I've grown maybe 10 of this strain, only 1 other did this. I never figured it out but I got my biggest yield ever from it...

Day 57: 1gal plain water @ 6.5ph Day 59: 1gal plain water @ 6.5ph. I'm noticing the greener growth looks perky, but the leaves that yellowed mostly stay droopy. I think the CalMag deficiency did its damage, but despite that the buds still continue fattening nicely. Probably just going to look like this the rest of the way through. Day 61: 1gal @ 6.5ph, 1tsp Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom Day 63: 1gal @ 6.5ph, 1tsp Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, .5tsp Flowering CalMag Seems to be recovering somewhat from the droopiness with more frequent watering and more nutes. Buds are really starting to get chunky!

Drinking about .5 gal/day, pushing the flowering nutes a little heavier, and the buds are getting quite chunky Day 66: 1gal @ 6.5ph Day 69: Looks like it's starting to fade. 1gal @ 6.5ph, 1tsp Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, N-CalMag. I probably should have fed more than a gallon, there was no runoff this time.

Day 76: Definitely fading, but I'm still feeding nutes every other watering because the buds are still throwing out a lot of new pistils and fattening up. Smells awesome too, skunky and fruity.

Started throwing out a new batch of pistils on day 84, other than that, not much changing. Getting real close to harvest, will probably just start flushing now and ride it out till the end.

Interesting grow all around. Tried my first transplant with this one and wrecked the roots a good bit, after it recovered I topped it and broke half of it completely off a couple days after (trying to LST), so I just trained the remaining half good and flat. Got the biggest buds I've gotten yet, pretty much no popcorn, which made for crazy easy trim. I didn't water for a week before harvest, and it went straight into a MyHerbsNow dryer, took a little more than 48hrs to dry (really low humidity here). I used an oz already to make gummies for my wife, the rest is now sitting in jars, currently in the low 50% humidity, I'll rehydrate with some fresh leaves from my other plants. Overall, really happy with this grow. These Seedsman NL autos may not be the flashiest thing out there right now, but after having grown a half dozen of them, they are vigorous and tough plants that just seem to produce no matter what you do to them.
