1st time AK48

Book_of_Thoth As well as my current two Pineapple Express I have going I thought i'd keep some variety in the mix and went with a third plant of AK48, after its strong recommendation from a friend to having great growth characteristics. I definitely use Pineapple as my baseline for evaluating plants now, and so far, AK48 has shown fast growth and great structure. Today she was defoliated and repotted, and after these 3 girls take up a bit more of the space available to them width wise i'll begin training the upward growths they're put out. It's exciting to be beginning something new, feel free to tune in and see what unfolds, This girl is promising so far! 😃

Book_of_Thoth Another week of growth and all is well. Here is a little run down of what's been happening in the tent -created a larger grid that covers my whole tent footprint for training the girls into -started weaving them into the grid a little more than they were, this has entailed some defoliation every other day, with high stress training implemented to make stems grow in the desired directions before they fit in just right. I trim some larger old fan leaves, but also new ones still growing in which are going to cover other branches. This is probably more necessary than if they were growing following their natural tendencies as the result of all my bending and training is leaves end up where they shouldn't. The AK48's 5 stem structure is still developing, and as I watch her grow I am getting a better idea of where all her branches could end up to fill the space optimally.

Book_of_Thoth She's another week older and a little bit bigger. Topped her tallest growth, still training her branches but not much has developed over the last week. Trimming down her leaves often too, and am seeing quite even growth. There's a large empty space to her right i'm trying to fill her into but it is taking a while to stretch her in that direction

Book_of_Thoth This girl is growing slowly but steadily, and looks very healthy. She isn't as fast to need to be moved into new quadrants of the lattice quite like her two Pineapple Express sisters. I'm excited to see how she flowers when it comes time :) Drinking more daily, and I am defoliating every other day.

Book_of_Thoth Another week down, and this AK48 is growing well. At this stage she's been in veg for about two months. I continue to defoliate heavily every 3 days, and this past week i've stripped her of lower insignificant growths. Whenever I notice the humidity in the tent creep upwards of 70%, I strip off leaves and the airflow created lowers it back to 50%-ish. This girl has one dominant growth despite my training, and it's well adjusted to having been topped, growing two offshoots. I imagine it could form quite an epic nug down the line!

Book_of_Thoth 4 days ago i made the switch to flowering, and i've noticed a bit of stretching in the last couple days. I got everything to a stage I thought looked great, and most of my branches in this tent's canopy have a few nodes each at least, so hoping that it'l result in a great spread of decent sized buds down the line. This is the most established i've ever had my plants before flowering. AK48 seems happy and is lower maintenance than the Pineapple she lives with. That's all til next week 😊

Book_of_Thoth Another week into flowering and Ak48 has definitely been doing a bit of stretching, with hopefully a bit more still to come. Pistils are a bit more prominent, and i've ramped up the amount of water she's been receiving slightly too. At the moment, she is still getting a bit of veg nutrient to facilitate stretching, and i've started to phase in some bloom too over the last couple days. I leave for a week soon and these girls will be in the care of a friend, so i'm excited to see what I have to come back to!

Book_of_Thoth I've been away for a week, leaving my tent in the care of a friend. Coming back I was surprised to see how much bud growth has occurred, as you can see colas are really starting to stack up, and trichromes are already appearing. AK48 seems to have some purple coloration creeping in on her buds which is really beautiful, just hard to capture as my led throws a purple hue on my photos in the first place. Today I spent two hours trimming leaves from the tent and have kept the airflow at a healthy level. Happy at how everything is looking, and at only three weeks into flowering she seems really promising. Stay tuned!

Book_of_Thoth AK48 is growing just great, with another week into her flowering. The purple colors are becoming a little more prominent, just hard to show under my already purple LED lights. As opposed to my Pineapple Express, this girl seems to form bud clusters that lack one central 'pine tree' shaped growth, and rather have little clumps usually with two main tops, so I might end up with some more spherical shaped nugs from her which is interesting! I would say her smell is a bit earthy/diesly so far. Hope to see her buds pack out in the weeks to come. Thanks for stopping by

Book_of_Thoth Not many weeks to go now, buds are starting to fill out, more trichromes and colors developing noticeably. This plant is not demanding in terms of attention and seems to be happily doing her thing for now. Not much leaf growth occurring at all at this stage. This plant has nicely sized colas forming and I hope to see them become more solid in the weeks to come.

Book_of_Thoth AK48 just seems to keep growing and growing, she definitely still has a few weeks left in her. The smell is developing daily to a rich earthy berry diesely type smell, and so are the colors, with the purple coloration further creeping in. Really excited for her colas to pack up fully
