Germition:
- Stored in fridge for about 1 month
- Put into a glass of water, kept dark and at just around 20-22 degrees, until sinking, 24 hours
- Put into wet paper towel between two plates, 24 hours
- Planted 22/02/2020
- Day 1 (seedling): 25/02/2020
- Day 3 (seedling): 27/02/2020 - Installed new lights, updated diary details to match
- Day 6 (seedling): 02/03/2020 - First watering, 1 L
(Updated: Have ordered some new lights, that hopefully will arrive within a week or two.
So will be running under a HLG 135 QB RSpec after a week or two.
Will change the diary to that and note it in the weekly comment.)
I'm looking into hydroponics, and have been looking at the GHE waterfarm. But worried that with a pot being 37cm and my tent being 120cm, I'll run out of space. At least having to turn down my light to prevent bleaching or heat damage. Any advice on this?
I know exactly what you are dealing with. I run Dutch buckets so I lose a lot of height, so I have to have taller space. With your dimensions there will be issues with your height. You really need a taller tent, or go with a different setup like coco. Some plants stretch like crazy and it can totally kill the enjoyment that you should get out of the grow. Good luck with whatever you decide!
Growing strong, but also a little lanky.
I think the old lights in the beginning, was a bit too far away.
Have a tendency to fall to one side, but supporting her with some clay pebbles.
This soil goes dry fast, so there will be a lot of watering this run!
Looking into ways of making a ScrOG net for her, need to keep the height down as much as possible.
Also trying out growing some chilies, since the ones you get here is more like bell peppers 😄
So far so good.
She's definitely taking to the new lights.
Nodes are coming close together and expanding fast.
But being used to blurple, I have to adjust to seeing different green colors and not interpreting it as deficiencies.
Still not sure if I should just do LST or try out some sCroG, any advice?
Otherwise just feeding and keeping humidity up as much as possible.
Oh, the new lights do get a little hot.
Not sure if it's direct heat, or the heat sink dissipating into the tent.
Made some PC fans into an active heat pull from the heat-sink, guiding it towards the air out-take.
Will update with pictures and results when installed.
Update: Did some LST, and a single leaf Defoliation on day 19 (Week 3).
The main stem is bulking up like crazy, had to do a little bit of Super Cropping to get her to bend without snapping.
Added a bit of Cal-Mag to try and get ahead of some minor deficiencies.
Discolored leaves at the bottom of a 3 week young auto flower, full feeding schedule in diary.
Was thinking Cal-mag deficiency, but after 4 days of running 2mL/L Cal-mag supplements it's still getting worse.
Could it be lack of phosphor, and will BioBizz FishMix/Grow be enough?
I see a nice growing Plant, with wonderful green color. and she looks like ready to go into flower. I wont do big actions on her now. Because she looks well balanced. Your feeding schedule looks good, i see no bigger Problem here. Just watch out that biogrow contains 8 percent N and calmag 2 percent. that is adding up. One of the products is enough.
I would wait and watch.
So it's been a rough week, have had lots of problems and have definitely seen some stunted growth due it.
First thought, last week, was CalMag issues, or pH trouble.
So tried to correct this by adding CalMag to the feeding.
Still got worse though, and leaves felt.. wrong? - hard to explain, but it wasn't a happy plant.
So I got my HomeAssistant to log data from a Phillips Hue sensor, Lux and temperature.
Also got a cheap amazon humidity sensor (that I sadly can't log).
Through this data I realized that my environment have been running away from me!
I made some changes recently to make more vertical room in my tent.
Moved my carbon filter out and using the inline fan to push through it.
Apparently that didn't work so well, and the air didn't get recycled.
I removed the filter, for now, and saw a lot more flow and lower temps almost instantly (as seen in the picture).
About 24 hours later, she was back to the impressive growth I saw before these issues! 😎
I want to thank @Mrs_Larimar and @OimRausch for their advice, and of course the people that answered my grow question.
Btw, how do I tag people in text? 😅
So far the sCroG is going alright, I'm stopping guiding her now and just letting her grow up again.
But I just noticed, while taking these pictures, that the new leaves are growing in a little purple at the top.
Is this just caused by temps, or more likely overwatering?
- leaves look fine I think, not too droopy, but also not reaching high though
Got my new tent set up!
Perfect fit, decent quality (especially for the money).
Great place for 2 plants at a time.
So I've had a few issues, both with environment and with droopy plants.
But it seems I've been under watering.
Not being able to lift the pot and check watering status by weight, due to scrog, have apparently made it hard for me to gauge.
So I'm looking into getting a soil hydrometer thing.
Scrog looks good, seeing some good growth, and the very delayed bloom phase has been good now that I stunted her a few times.
Excited to see her switch to bloom and stretch up through the net.
So I'm a day into week 6 with my RQS Northern lights auto, and still no signs of switching into flowering.
When should I start worrying that she might not flip by herself?
I got a young auto seedling in the same tent, so going 12/12 is hard :/
Any other ways to force it?
Hey Mate,
I wouldn't mind,
Larimar would probably say
P A T I E N C E! 😜🤣😂🤣😂
The switch will come, keep your lights @18/6..
Cheerz, and have a good one..
O.
So week 6 came and went and still not really any signs of going full into flowering.
She also seems a bit droopy, but definitely recovering.
Think I might have over-watered her a bit, so will let her get nice and light again.
I'm pretty sure this is over-watering, combined with some ScrOG training stress.
But would of course love some input from some more experienced growers as well.
Currently just letting her dry out a bit and then keeping more to a watering schedule.
See the puffy leaves? That's over watering. The clawing and yellow (burnt) tips is over feeding. Give it plain water for now and only once the soil dries up
It's the first day of week 8, and still no flowering signs showing.
I removed all nutrients from a couple of feeds, only adding Acti-Vera.
Seems to be working, as she's recovering and growing a little again.
But let's see what week 8 will bring, now that she can focus on growing and flowering again :)
So I'm at a loss, this plant is happy one moment and the next droopy and sad.
Just entered week 9, and still barely signs of sex and no real signs of flowering.
Just changed light schedule to 18/6.
So what should I do, there's no signs of switching in week 9!
I've tried changing to 18/6 lighting, but have only been running it for a couple of days.
Besides that she is really droopy and the soil feels really hard (maybe lots of roots).
Any advice is appreciated :)
If water don't fix this its roots I've had this problem before. Your roots are smashed together so much she can't breath you need to look at the roots and see what they look like. If its solid. As a rock like you. Say. I'd. Get it wet and soft and. Run some small rods like a cig. Or smaller. All the way to the bottom very easy like to help let some air in there that has fixed mine. Before. I've also had to transplant when wet and carefully let as much soil as possible come off and add new soil as much as possible that's not like. Stone. If you gotta go cheap bro rocks and sticks. Will work good luck bro
Still no effect from reducing light/dark time.
Using no nutes in the feeds now.
She will be moved out of tent and into my living room, for a more drastic 12/12 move.
We'll see what happens..
So another week passes in the life of a 11 week veg autoflower.
Seems like switching to 12/12 has started something.
She is stretching like crazy, can easily see it every morning and night.
But it seems that some catalyx and pistels have appeared, so I'll keep her going.
Maybe she'll be a monster.
Stopped feeding her, for now, and shows no signs of any needs.
So a lot of growth has been happening, stretching like crazy.
She's definitely grown into a bush now!
But it seems to have slowed down and she's focusing more on growing bud 😎
Still keeping her in the dark 12 hours a day though.
Coming along nicely, starting to bud up.
Haven't had any issues with her, no drooping or anything since switching to 12/12.
If she keeps on like this, I'll be swimming in Northern Lights buds for a while 😎
Starting to fill out nicely.
Being grown fully in a window now, no more indoor lighting used. Still going 12/12 as well. Can feel that she's getting more thirsty, having to water and feed more frequently.
Hoping she'll be done in 4 weeks or so.
Really starting to make my apartment reek, but luckily I got the top two floors 😎
Not much new to report, she's doing fine.
Only getting sunlight now, not sure if my old LED would be better though.
Still, seems to be budding up nicely, but still +4 weeks to go I'd guess.
Got a slight peppery smell now, not strong though.
Can be smelled within a few meters, but doesn't pollute my apartment (as i feared). 😅
Fattening up nicely.
Have had to move her under my old LED, since the weather have changed from very sunny to mostly cloudy here.
Some hairs have gone orange, but still far from ready to harvest.
So still some weeks to go, and by far my longest grow to date!
This one was a rollercoaster.
Should have been an auto, but turned out not to be.
Finally got all the needs dialed in, and got a decent result.
Buds are quite fluffy though, not the prettiest I have grown.
Harvested with <10% amber, and hope for a nice uplifting high.
