Week 1
Another diary, but this time it is with bag seed from my own home grown critical. How I got a seed is beyond me.
Seed place in tap water with 1% Take Root for 24hrs then placed onto wet paper towel also soaked in the same solution. When the tap root was established a smear of Root It rooting gel added to the hole in the terra soil for the seed to grow in. Placed on a radiator for 24hrs till popped up then transferred to my veg tent.
I will be doing a bit of LST and defoliation to this one. This will probably be my last seed diary as I am going to be doing clones from now on as less hassle and cheaper the prices they charge for seeds is scandalous really.
Week 2
Wednesday 4th March. Nothing has changed just watering a few droplets of the Take Root solution. Will alter next week depending upon the growth of the seedling. May even transfer the lady to a 11 litre pot.
Friday 6th March. still sparse watering, well drops of the Take Root solution and she looks healthy to me. Probably during week three I will be the repotting into her forever home. That usually gives my ladies the time to feel comfortable before flowering about week five.
Week 3
Wednesday 11th March. Start of a new week and today five minutes before I wrote this entry into the diary I repotted the lady in a 20l pot. She looks a dwarf in there now. This is just to see if the size of the pot makes much difference, I would normally only use 10 - 11 litre pots for autos. I will now bump up the nutrients slowly this week and start adding Dutch pro usually at 1% and increasing as the lady gets established. The roots looked good and not pot bound so hoping there will be no shock for her and she carries on growing healthy.
Tuesday 17th March. Nice shape to the lady no height growth yet. Expect that this week as she starts to veg out more.
Week 5
Tuesday 24th March. Start of a new week still a bit small but healthy lady. Hope she starts to expand this week.
Saturday 28th March. As you can see from the photos the lady is getting bushy but no height. I have put in the tent two critical autos that popped up on Wednesday and are already as big near enough as the older lady!!! I'm sure it has to be because she's bag seed.Lets see what she grows like so this diary could go all the way or get cut short 😱
I have filled the tent again as you see with Blue Cheese clones I took and there is a Sugar Mama auto thats just about to be harvested. I was going to do a diary on the clones but forgot to take a photo of the mother before and after cloning. It will be my intention to use one of these clones as a mother for my next diary on clones. Should be about 6 to 8 weeks. I have to say lockdown isn't going to stop me having fun😂👍
Week 6
Wednesday 1st April is day 40 for this little lady. She is too small there is a problem but as I have other grows in this tent, I will see what happens to her instead of giving her the red card now😂 Apart from stunted she was very healthy but thats nature for you.
Week 7
Wednesday 8th April. We have one stunted lady as you can see from the photos. The other two that started 26th March are doing well. The bag seed is now just being grown for fun as I would not think she would give much more than 7g. I have plenty of room in the tent as I'm vegging some clones and a mother to clone in about 5 weeks.
Monday 13th April. I have today defoliated the stunted one as she had a very good leaf covering of the bud sites. This I think was the best way to see if she will at least give me something. The other two normal critical seeds are doing fine. Feeding not changed staying as we are for another week at least.
Week 8
Wednesday 15th April. Start of the week and she's started to flower my little stunted lady. Other than being Bonsai size she does look healthy so I will let her grow to harvest. The other two that were started later look good and not stunted in any way so they look on course to give me a normal harvest. No changes to feeding schedule keep things simple and carry on👍
Saturday 18th April. The Bonsai is stretching out and the other two bushing out nicely so defoliation time in a day I think.
Week 9
Wednesday 22nd April. Ground hog day again. Start of a new week and all is good so no changes to be made.
Tuesday 28th April. Day 67 of the bag seed still small but perfect in everything else. Will be giving a defoliation tomorrow which should be the last attention she gets really till harvest. The other two ladies need cutting back a little and up the feeding schedule also.
Week 10.
Wednesday 29th April. Hair cut for the ladies at the start of the week to open up the bud sites. The two later ladies are now bushing up and I expect a little bit of stretch soon but they are not a tall plant so anything about 20 inches high would be okay.
Week 11
Starting to push up the nutrients now and hope that the ladies all start Budding up.The small bag seed plant has surprised me as she has grown larger than I first thought which is a nice bonus. I will keep you posted on events but as you see everything seems fine. So will add photos when there's a change.
Tuesday 12 May. Getting bushy again and they have only just been defoliated but I'm happy as they all seem happy and healthy. Very surprised by the little one I thought she would be a poor grower but I'm thinking she will give me more than 7g when harvested. Will be keeping the nutrients at the same level for a few weeks now to try and get bud growth up.
Week 11
Getting bushy and big again which has surprised me as they have been defoliated twice which is something I don't normally do. The increased nutrients must be doing something. All three look healthy so carrying on with the same regime this week.
Week 13
Wednesday 27th May. Well the bushy twins have grown quite a bit in the week as you can see and will have to be defoliated again. The bag seed lady is just doing her thing and slowly maturing I would have expected to have been chopping her by now, but all seems to be good and its just sit back do what I'm doing and wait I think. The clones have now been put into the flowering tent now and I have four left out of eleven. One will act as a mother and the other three will go to anyone who wants one.
As there seems to be no stress in the ladies I am keeping the nutrient feeding the same this week.
Friday 29th May. New haircut for the Bushy Twins should be the last but Ive said that before. Hope the two girls start to bud up as there appears to be some good growth. The bag seed just needs to explode now for a couple of weeks but she's a slow lady for an auto but I'm patient and in no rush got plenty curing at the moment😂
Week 14
Wednesday 3rd June. Plenty of room in the tent now as the clones have moved on to new homes starting with Finale for two weeks then will reappraise the situation as the bag seed seems to be doing her own thing and just doesn't want to really bud up. Her sisters are quite different as you can see and have really grown think for them I have had the notes dialled in for once😂
Saturday 6th June. Certainly growing the two younger ladies and very healthy. The older lady which I would have expected to have chopped now just doesn't want to fatten up. I don't know why but she is healthy and growing but very slow belligerent one might say😂 Well lets see what this week brings.
Week 14
Wednesday 10th June.
We start another week and the ladies are healthy and green. Bag seed......well bag seed is doing her own thing just not fattening up. Unless I see a big improvement I think it will be time to change to Ripen to get some bud growth.
The other two ladies are big and bushy may need a few leaves removing to get the light penetration to the lower buds.
Overall there seems nothing to worry me just looking forward to a smoke from these ladies in the coming weeks. Not much to ask for in life😂
Week 16
Wednesday 17th June. Bag seed is starting to fatten up. Think another week of this and then the flush if everything goes well. The other two are about five weeks behind but are growing tall and putting on more leaves so may need another defoliation. I will see If I can just leaf tuck as I don't really want to shock her now they are in flower.
Saturday 20th June. Fattening up nicely is bag seed another week at least and then I will be using the magnifying glass to check on the trichomes. Nothing to report as all it has been is watering all week nothing as normal.
Week 17
Wednesday 24th June. Starting to see some dark amber trichomes now. Harvest is usually about 70 - 90% milky trichomes for me so maybe another week and flush as all is perfect and Im in no rush. I have also come to the conclusion that the bag seed is in fact a Sugar Mama due to the leaf structure. Pretty happy with that and that will be why the non bag seed Critical ladies look some what different😂😂😂
Friday 26th June. Maybe given the bag seed her last fattening up juice and lets see in a few days if I should water with just ph'd water for the flush. The other two crazy ladies are big and bushy and do need a wee bit of defoliation to get some more light to the bud sites.. All in all pretty happy with the growth and the nothing is jumping out that is a major problem so chopping soon I think.
Week 18
Wednesday 1st July. Its time for the flush for the bag seed. I believe she is a Sugar Mama so that was a nice surprise. The other two ladies who are Critical as bushy and need to be defoliated again. This will be the last as I would say that its another four weeks till chop time. I will push nutrients this week then go onto Buddy and Ripen for the last two weeks before the flush. Well thats my intention but the ladies will let me know one way or the other.😂
WEEK 19
Wednesday 8th July.
Start the new week with a chop as you see Bag Lady is now hanging to dry for 7 to 10 days. Have to say yes this was a long grow but as you see from the start I had no expectations from her as she was small and some may have thrown her out.Glad I stayed with her as she looks to have some nice buds that are frosty and sticky. I was hoping for about 1/4oz from her. Think she might be considerably more now.
The other ladies are bushy and healthy even if I have neglected them a little. I haven't been turning the pots and I can tell the sides that have been in the shade. Please forgive me. Carry on feeding I think as we are for another week and then see if Ripen time😂
@Growingkitten, Hi regards Dutchpro nutrients I only use what you see. I think all nutrients and supplements are overpriced but I seem to get okay results with these so have to rate as good.
