Begin week 1
2/27 Transplant day
Transplanted with a mix of:
*Silica Blast
*Hydroguard
*Liquid Karma
All should have 1st set of permanent leaves tomorrow, making 2/28 Day 1.
Humidity domes on.
DAY 2 (2/29)
She is standing tall and looking good. Removed humidity dome.
Start MC feed schedule:
MegaCrop @ 2g/gal
Sweet Candy
CalMag
Recharge
DAY 8
Doing well and looking good.
24oz feed in outermost area to wet medium for microbes and mykos.
MC @2g/gal
SC @1g/gal
CalMag
65%
75°
VPD 9.5
Light 20/4
14,000 lux
DAY 15
Been feeding MC, SC, Calmag, @ ph adjusted 6.0 and allowing generous 1-2 days between feedings. Supplementing weekly with Recharge.
DG - standing tallest and healthiest of all. She's tall and vigorous and her largest leaves are spread wider than the 12 inch pot shes in. She may grow fast enough to top after 5th node by day 21.
Temp: 74-76°
Rh: 60%
VPD: 10.5 (adj for leaf temp)
DAY 19
She's tall and growing fast. Her growth could almost be described as 'aggressive'. She will likely be topped after 5 nodes.
DAY 29
She is healthy and vigorous. She has massive fan leaves acting as solar panels down low and an explosion of new tops forming across her canopy since topping.
DAY 32
Pulled each plant for individual maintenance. Removed any lower leaves that were unhealthy or blocking airflow. Thes are all looking quite healthy.
DG has a tall and open structure similar to BRK, but with more overall mass. She's very healthy and filling up all of her branches with bud sites.
DAY 35
She's a big girl and has grown a lot this week. Breeder estimate is 22-32", she's @28" now after having been topped... and she's NOT stretchy.
She is overall very healthy. She has a couple of spots where new growth may have had some light stress, but nothing serious. She has some seriously large fan leaves.
Begin week 6
STRAIN DETAILS:
Double Grape - Mephisto Genetics
Genetics: Sour Stomper x Grape Crinkle
Cycle time: (65-70d)
Size: (22-32")
Yield: (90-120g)
27%
DAY 41
She's now 32" tall and not stretching due to poor lighting. The 2 in the rear of the tent are big and tall. The front 3 are more squat and the light has been essentially the same for all. She's just a big, fast girl.
She is completely covered in bud sites. Like 1,000 points of light, there are buds popping out everywhere. With 3-4 weeks to go, she's going to be thicK!
DAY 42
6 weeks in and she is looking good. The 2 colas that emerged from the topped section have outpaced the others by 3-4". As an experiment, supercropped one of the colas to be even with the other colas.
Since topping, the canopy is relatively even. The exception is the 1 cola that was left 3" above the others in this experiment.
Begin week 7
DAY 45
Been doing daily 28-35oz+ feedings for most of the past 2 weeks.
She is tall with long arms covered in buds their entire length.
Did a complete mid-grow flush of all:
1gal w/Clearex
1gal plain water
1qt/base feed w/Recharge & Mammoth
Maybe with microbes this flush was a mistake?
Time will tell.
Switched monkey fan to high and left tent door open to help with evaporation. Rh 57%.
DAY 53
DG is tallest of all in the tent with branches that are covered their entire length with buds. She seems to grow and fill out overnight. She has a structure and bud to leaf ratio like her Sour Stomper heritage. At 65/70 days for this strain, she may go longer as she looks like she may get much thicker. She's very healthy.
Begin week 9
She's building bud all up her long branches. Things are starting to fill in and fatten. As with other 'Stomper strains, the bud to leaf ratio is impressive. She is so coated in trichromes and thick white pistils.
DAY 62
Been struggling with some thickening and yellowing leaves.
Have suspected P or Mg deficiency. The symptoms seem improve with lower ph feed and supplementing Epsom salts. Recent feedings have been <6.0ph.
Everyone got an out of tent inspection, trim and mini-flush...feed 1gal MC only with good runoff. Runoff ph was 7.0.
Most of the thick, dry, deficient leaves are on the 4AMs and BRK, and... surprisingly, wthere weren't too many. This gal had nothing trimmed.
Will continue feeding with reduced ph (5.6-6.0) nutrients. Switching Bloom nutes to Hydroplex for increased P ratio. Beautiful buds everywhere.
DAY 63
After the mini-flush pots are heavy, but everyone looks rough. Gave everyone 2tsp Epsom in 24oz water. Neglected to ph nutrient water. Several hours later, everyone looks much happier and less yellowed.
Lowered fan and increased speed to aid in transpiration to dry the pots.
Re-discovered BACK-BUILDING.
Back-building is the practice of topping individual buds a tiny amount which causes buds to swell as they respond in a way similar to how plants respond to topping.
Had done a side by side with this technique on a single plant in the past and was able to see the results. This technique removes almost nothing but stimulates growth signals. It works.
Performed this technique on 80-90% of this crop. This could be especially helpful on lower minor buds.
Begin week 10
DAY 67
She is big and getting noticably thicker every day, but still has a long way to go. She has remained healthy throughout and will go weeks beyond her 65-70 day estimate. She is green with a thick coating of frost all over.
She had been an aggressive grower at one time but she hit the wall and lost ground to her tent mates over the past few weeks.
DAY 83
This DG is getting hard...and possibly gaining weight due to density, but she's not really fattening in volume. Her sugar leaves have a nice blush of purple.
She has lost many long-stemmed leaves as she fades and ripens
She went like gang busters at the start, but seemed to stall late in flower and didn't t want to fatten up late.
Despite downgrading my yield estimate from 120 to 75g, she finished well. In spite of her airy buds, she managed to yield 163g. My highest documented single plant yield to date. Hoping things turn out well after some time curing and equalizing.
As for her grape name/heritage, she doesn't have a strong grape smell like others.
Have not sampled her yet.
GROW STATS:
365w/avg (250w/veg + 480w/flower)
5 plants in 4x4:
BRK - 108g
4AM(1) - 86g
4AM(2) - 99g
FOG - 112g
DG - 163g
TOTAL YIELD: 568g
