It seems that ph is the biggest issue people struggle with in hydro. It is usually one of 2 issues. Either nutrients that don't run stable or bacteria breeding causing an unbalanced environment in your reservoir. To rule out the bacteria issue add 2 tsp per gallon of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your reservoir. This will kill any bacteria and add oxygen to the water at the same time. I always run it in my system week 1 just to be safe. As for the nutrients I use maxigro and maxibloom. They buffer pH great and will run stable all week. It is also really cheap. Those 2 things will solve your pH issues and make life a lot easier. Good luck
Should I trim some of this out, not much below the canopy besides some fan leaves. Just thinking theres not enough space between the heads. Was thinking of starting flower next week.
Hi @shibbyguy you can do some defoliation on the bigger leaves mainly under the net where the light doesn't reach and slightly over the net. the secret of defoliation is to keep doing it little by little so as not to stress your plant. good luck mate 👍🙏
Growdiaries needs a hall of fame for stuff like this.. This is awesome in a sense because it's a good learning experience for others and more so for you I'm sure... Don't do this.
Hello buddy.... them some roots you got. 💯. Regarding PH meter.. Good advise above... however how long have you had your PH meter for? And what make? Some makes do not last longer than a certain time.. Essential is one of those makes.
@Puffer_Bill, hey mate, ive got a Apera PH20 Meter. Its fairly new and calibrated regularly. I found my ph issue's was because of some algea/slime issue with the roots and they way I was mixing the nutrients. Since correcting these issue PH is much more stable.
The meter for checking the ppm is a cheap one though, brand new.
Thanks for the help guys. The smell has died down quite a bit, but have heaps of peroxide on hand so I'll add some tonight. Yes, I rinsed the hydroton twice, boiled it then rinsed again. I'll keep adding Ph down to keep it correct I hope thats ok. Sorry not sure how to respond to individual comments.
@shibbyguy, defoliation is something you have to try for yourself. Everyone has a different experience with it. I tried it and yield wise I got the same as always.
Looks great dude. Turned out far better then I would have expected... I was wrong for sure well had the wrong impression anyway but this is a nice looking turnout. Good work.
I never imagined this kind of growth after hardcore defoliationg. seems to be a truly powerful genetic and I appreciate the courage and motivation you had on applying it.it really pays off.
She's looking okay now for sure. Along for the ride now. Be curious to see how she's gonna turn out for you. She appears to have handled it fairly well.
@DeadwebsiteBoringcommunity, seems to be a fairly hardy strain. Had algae/root rot issues half the grow, would to of love to of done the schwazzing when it was healthy.
She's looking really great dude.. I wonder if a Dirt growing plant would be able to recover as quickly.. I don't think so. Good job really looks nice and you got some Trichomes coming in on the leaves now looks like she's right on track👍
Greetings from Russia! Your plants look great! Keep developing in the same spirit! If you are interested in following the adventures of weed in Russia, subscribe to my diary
Hi,
Looks really strong, u cutted so many leafes but now u must have a feeling for not cut too much :D. I also had to get through the hard way and cutted all flower branches. But normally they get stucked a little bit more, so 3-6 intenodiums not more per day that means also for the flower branches, so I had to wait a bit longer but it will be healthier if u do a little bit more slowly. Sometimes they grow faster with nothing to do, but sometimes they cry for help.. So do it like u feel it's right and then if something gots an error be calm and check what could it be :) and other thing, I got also canna nutrients do u All think this division is a bit to much? I would start with my aeroponics with 33% of discribed ml u need so 2-2,2 ml /Litre of water (canna aqua a/b) and pk to high? Ive read that canna aqua a/b has a lot of the phosphates that u need..
Greetings
Piccobinol :3
@shibbyguy,
Sry for my bad English xD but I understood well, I think.. My canna nutrients came 1h ago let's see if they work :) I will give them less than the recommend dosage. If someone have mummies and cuttings let me know how u do.. Well I think I have to change to led, cause the mini growbox (only for cuttings, got also a mums tent and a flower tent 1. 4x 55w and Flo 1 sanlight q6w) is getting to hot with 2x55w lights. Last investment men(sanlight flex 10 or 20), it was a long way but the setting will do it.. I hope so... If u have some tips for me let me know :)
@@Piccobinol, it's called Schwazzing a technique that I wanted to try for myself (I will also be doing it again). So was not worried about cutting to much, in fact I'm quite happy with the progress. My main issue with this grow was the reservoir temp was too high a lot of the time which has now been fixed (caused some root rot/algae issues). If your unsure on how much to feed with the canna nutrients, you can check for yourself on there website or the back of the bottle. There recommend dosages are pretty spot on. I've only over fed the plants a few times and that's just due to laziness and letting the water level drop to low.
Sorry if I didn't understand what you were getting at, your English isn't the best.
Very interested to see how this experiment goes now after so much negative feedback😅😂. Was a little surprised no one has ever tried Schwazzing for themselves. This is a little more extreme then what most people are game to try, normally a little more is left on top. Thinking I might do a side by side comparison with the next grow if my clones survive.
