I have hard water and ICB in my well. I simply use a RO/DI machine for my plants and make sure the PH is correct (around 6.3). PH is the most important thing here, as the iron content in your water will likely have little effect on your plants but can drastically swing PH in the water itself.

Add magnetic dust ( you can order online cheap ) to your soil mix. I experimented with magnets and growth with exceptional results. You can kill 2 birds with 1 stone...take iron away from plant roots and improve growth rates

If you are running it through a RO system then it should be clean of any excess iron and any other contaminants. My RO comes out about 12 ppm. Can't ask for much cleaner water than that. Only thing you need to do is make sure to change your RO filters a little sooner than the manufacturer recommends if your water has a really high iron content.
