So, normally I wouldn't start a diary from day 1 but as I was strolling through the Land of the Jolly Green Giants when I spotted a couple of baby Gorillas! They couldn't have been more than a few hours old by the looks of 'em. Tiny and wet from their struggle to shed their shells. I found one of the seedlings had popped out with white tipped leaves. I have seen this before with Tangie'matic (not on just one either, a couple times) and I'm not worried about it because it seems like tip burn. The tips will brown and it shouldn't miss a step. But I am curious as to the cause. Genetics or germination technique? Any thoughts or experience on the subject?
UPDATE: End of week 1, day 7 and all is good. After posting a question for help it was a consensus that my starter mix was too hot. I amended it with Coco coir and perlite to cool it down and my two new baby gorillas popped out with no issues. As a matter of fact, I added a step to my germination process and the Tangerine auto popped up after only 48 hours underground. The GG#4 autos showed their heads within 72 hours. Outstanding results! Shout out to @OwnWayGoodWay @Mrs_Larimar @chasv77 for replying so promptly. Peace
Thanks for turning on and tuning in. All questions or comments are welcome.
Peace
Why did my seedlings germinate with white tipped leaves? I have seen this happen before a couple times and I am curious as to what the issue may be. Is it genetics or germination technique (pH, soil to hot, too wet)? In the past, the tips will brown and the plant would been fine.
@Mrs_Larimar, I believe you are correct. Even though, I used a starter mix that I tried to cool down by amending it with coco coir, I believe it is still too hot and needs more amending. Thank you. Peace
Greetings from Russia! Your Plants look great! Keep developing in the same spirit! If you are interested in following the adventures of weed in Russia, subscribe to my diaries.
@Mrs_Larimar, right! I have noticed when I LST growth slows down and it may take 12-14 weeks but when I just do defoliation most autos are done in 63 - 70 days. Peace and health
