Hi all back after a couple years had a few runs in past right managed to get my hands on some purple stardawg cuts they were not the best to be hounist but gave them run I potted them up into 6inch pots I had laying around in bio bizz light mix and whacked them straight under a 100w t5 single strip 2 inches above the babies I never had my setup all together as of yet had some adjusting to do in the house to find space to set it all up so I placed them in a wardrobe and put a six inch fan on them and a little intake coming in with my 5 inch inline fan for some fresh air I've had them on 24 hours since I had got the cuts I'm hoping to get my tent setup up in the next week or so I've noticed a slight humidity problem with the leafs showing signs of crisp edges so I have been foiler spraying them with ph water ever couple of hours soaking them while they take hold in the dirt and this is massively important I would usually use a fogger but have not got my hands on one as of yet it's important while they are laying down roots to keep humidity levels high as you can I like to run with hight temps as well in clones stage and early veg because I'm in not in a ideal grow area yet I have placed a soaking wet towel in the wardrobe to raise humidity also I fimmed 2 plants and topped 3
Hi all hope your all good since I'm around 9 days since clones went into 6 inch pots I repotted them into 5 ltr pots to take them through a decent veg I used bio bizz light mix again I'm using water from the tap but letting it sit for 48 hours to dechlorinate what I like to do do in veg is soak my pots once I see the roots popping the bottom of the container to get a feel of the heaviness of them and let them completely dry out between waterings so I simply lift the pots and know when there light and need watering over watering early on in veg is a common mistake leading to root problems like root rot and stunted growth so thats my best bit of advice in veg I like to dry my pots out completely between waterings also I have seen better tighter node spacing on my plants on few runs I have done watering this way. before I do soak my pots like this I make sure sure there feet are peeping out the bottom until then I water a small amount little but often if you have good quality soil it should be fine because there Ballanced with the right drainage I plan to place my girls into 10lt pots before I flip to flower
Hi all hope your all good my tent has arrived I have now got it all setup and ready for the girls to enjoy here is the setup a 1.2m by 1.8 grow tent an 8 inch carbon filter and 8 inch rvk an 6 inch rvk intake a 250w mh and 600 watt I'm using for flower on a digital ballast a hygrow meter and a rhino fan controller I've also today went an purchased a new shade ive gone with an adjusta wing I heard good things about them so we shall see I'm currently running 24 hours on veg on the 250 MH bulb without any problems I'm leaving my intake off as it's real cold outside and set my exhaust fan at 10% and just using the passive pull to bring air exchange into to tent so the temps stay around 75 I like to keep around that mark hot and humid in veg I've started to lst all the girls today as there powering on and will need to flip them I've have them 6 days after topping and fimming them to recover before doing this I've use cabel ties placed together around the pots with building plum string that's slightly wax coated to not bite into the stems when I lst I manually bend to directly place before tying down do this carefully and take your time they love to be trained plants and love being tied down so have a go you can get better yields and less popcorn buds in this method especially if hight is an issue I prefer to work on an even canopy and have a more busher plant at the moment I'm not to concerned about night time temps because I'm on a 24 cycle but I'm looking at possible problems once I flip 12/12 I'm watering 2ltr every 3 days and I'm going to have to flip soon
Hi there all just an update now week 4 I've had take a desicion and repot up to 10ltr pots right before I flip into flower I really cant risk waiting a week recover time of transplant shock with the girls because I have a feeling there out grow there space so I'm going to give them couple of days and hang the 600w up and flip to 12/12 I will back off the base feed also as bio bizz soil seems to be charged quite high alread for a light mix a bit to charged for my liking to be hounist a bit hot so i should be ok on feed for few weeks I might give a very low feed of 0.6ec If needed I keep pulling the girls out each day re tying down the stems lst also I'm taken off now anything lower than 50% in growth hight of the plant except big fan leafs to reduce immature buds at harvest and the nodes that will never make the main canopy thining out some of the middel internodes also to have overall space and bigger buds on the other bud sites one thing I would say as you have to keep up with lst often for best results and not to worry if a few stems split here and there tape them up there bounce right back even better surprisingly
Hi guys sorry for the dark pics I had low battery well this is first week of the flowering cycle 12/12 I've had a few issues with night time temps dropping a little low as 51f which I fault would happen as we are going through a cold snap right now and you never really want to turn your exhaust fans off during any light cycle in my opinion so I'm leaving my household heating on a low and tweaking my fan controller to only pull 5% the reason being I believe that in early flowering phase you don't want long internodes IE stretching you want tightest internodes as possible so by keeping your day time and night temps near as possible helps keep them tighter together you never want more than a 10% drop in temps for any reason in flower if you can help it so if your running 75f in day no lower than 65f in darkness im running 75fday and 69f night currently also I gave some grow in the base nutes with bloom as we are going into flower as the plants in first 2 weeks of the flowering cycle are still growing one thing I have noticed is I think I have a slight nitogen toxicity because they are running very green and think could be possible to much nitrogen in soil after each repot causing dark green shiny leafs a classic sign i shall see how they get on im still doing ok and watering every 4 days or when the pots feel light please check when you flip always get inside your tent to check for light leeks before you flip your plants and have a good realible timer as I had a few issues with light leaks when I checked lights off and got inside to look and timer was not great I have not checked the runoff for EC and ph as of yet but I shall do also i suggest you run your night cycle at night in winter to beat the coldness I had the run darkness at night because of reason also my fan packed up so ordered a secret jardin monkey fan 30w and has arrived real good bit of kit I would say I'm still last training every other day and I did start to defoliate a few leafs each day the big fan leafs only and only few here and there to not stress them out to much
Hi there all catching this diary up as saved photos and dairy of the grow so just catching up now unfortunately the girls after have a good look today have for sure to much nitogen toxicity the pre flowers ie bud sites seem a bit slow going and the pistils don't look like there developing nicely so today I leached each pot with pH water to flush the soil out I now know because I potted just before I flipped to flower I should of leached the pots and recharged the soil with bloom feed as the nitrogen has deffinatly had impact on them slow growth weeker stems after I leached the pots I fed base bloom nutes 300 ppm I'm hoping that they bounce back obvisley I made the mistake of potting up and the soil already being charged with high nitogen once we flip to flower to much nitogen causes problems so flush at flip and start at a low ppm of bloom nutes if repotted in last couple of weeks or get them in final pot couple week before I've also noticed they don't seem to like high feed other strains I've managed to be up higher at this point also I checked the run off before leaching today and had 2.8 reading on the wand so salts had started to build so I shall go for %10 run off each watering and back down on the EC slightly I also done some more lst and defoleated
Hi all there coming along nicely seem to of bounced back a bit since flush and lower feed nitrogen toxicity seems has not got any worse they seem to slowed right down in stretch also and plenty of bud sites forming. pistils seem to be really exploading now I'm feeding 1.3ec never been so low but showing signs of a bit of tip burn so don't want to push them with feed maybe it's the strain I don't know? other strains even autos I have grown have been around 1.8ec at this stage I also pinched few more fan leafs off covering bud sites I've started Dutch pro expload today also my night time temp dropped last night so I will turn down exhaust fan slightly to bring less cold air exchange in the grow tent I do plan in late flower to drop temps
Hi all noticed bit of a difinacey or nute burn so checked runoff again slight high so feed again only 1.3 EC it's getting quite nice and smelly in there I can see I'm defo going to have slight impact on yield with the touchy feed also that nitrogen toxicity lets hope they turn out not so bad in the end I'm always learning no matter what I have to take it as a lesson learned next feed cycle I think I'm going to give them a tea of some kind as a root drench and hope that can add some vigor to them and reduce some stress I pulled the adjusting wing to autumn setting and lowered a bit more I also pinched a few more leafs off here and there for light pentration
Coming along nicely checked run off EC2.0 pH6.9 I decided to give plants a root drench tea today so I used biosy from ecothrive with low base nutes of 1.2 EC and I'm going to do some defolation few days after I fed the biosy because I think the feed was just that bit to high at 1.5 usually I'm feeding 1.8 or 2.0 EC at this late in flower but they seem to be light feeders so I ran off quite a bit with the tea with around 30% run off incase there was salt build up I'm also doing going to be dropping the temps over last few weeks
Decided to do some heavy defolation today as to get light deeper into canopy I also fed no higher than 1.5 EC
I'm hoping a heavy strip will increase airflow and bulk out some of
The the larf bud also raised the light a bit today and droped temps to 73 and 63 night cycle
Coming along nice since defolation seemed really to bulk up buds a bit I'm dropping feed as slight nute burn dilled in nicley I dropped down to 1.3 ec and lowerd pH to 5.8 as run off last time was a bit high so should nudge it down a bit now once slight lower and buds are getting harder each day I want to take them till week 9 I plan to use pH water last 10 days good luck everyone days ahead will get better safe growing
Getting more dence will be heading for a flush soon super frosty really happy with first gorilla run so far thrown in some canes today for some support
