So my problems with the very hard water continues but hopefully a solution is in sight....RO water from my local aquatics store.
Having to mix a small amount of tap water to bring the PH into range but with any luck this will solve my issues in the future.
It may not have anything to do with water. Plants when they are finishing just suck the fan leaves dry causing them to look just like yours.
Your plant looks fantastic. She looks like she is just finishing
@Ripper, yeah could be, she's supposed to be a quick flowering plant but I'm at least 14-18 days away from finish. Last feed tonight then water/flush.
Running a 400 watt in a 1sq metre tent and temps are on the low side (22-25) but I have raised the light slightly to see if that helps.
I'm probably being a little paranoid as she's my only plant!
These are some lovely looking cookies buddy. I'm pretty stoked to see how these girls plump up in the coming weeks of flower. You should have yourself one beautiful harvest from this. Great job and I'm excited to see how it all turns out. Best wishes :D
@DabCrab,thanks dab crab. I normally use a brita filta but when I add nuts this drops my ph right down so this could have been my problem all along or could be that the minerals in the water are too large for the tiny root hairs to absorb causing some lockouts? Either way I only have one plant on the go so must air on the side of caution. RO water with a little tap water to bring the ph into range and hope she'll love me for it 😃
@DabCrab, thanks buddy! Although I have to say I'm not so optimistic. Moved to an area where the water is classed as very hard (300+ppm) only just figured out this was the problem.
Fingers crossed I can correct the issue in time.
All the best mate
@drzoidberg, nice one 👍 Barneys are pretty solid, recently done a cookies Kush from these guys which was very good. Really helps to cure for at least 4-6 weeks
Top notchh Plant , cant see a Real issue , And thé curling on what i read can mě about light , dont want to give a bad advice but maybe of thé brutal quantita od Crystal thé light can harm little bit ? Is your distance od growlight right ? Anyway dont watch fór perfection altough this Plant Is not far from IT.
@the_connoisseur420, my 400w sits at 12 inches above the top of my canopy and i take the temperature reading from that area and it sits around 26o... i only have a 9 inch oscillating fan in there with a 4"filter and extraction fan, and my tent is also 1msq so i dont think your light being that far from the plant is causing you any issues man imo. she looks great though dude.. and so damn frosty!
@islandgrows89,thanks for the advice man. Yeah I've put the light up another 4-6 inches to be on the safe side. It's a 400w in a metre Sq tent so she should have enough light....just being greedy I suppose.
Haha always high when posting in here ☺️
@the_connoisseur420, I'd say defo put it higher. Don't forget the temp of tent taken from where temperature lead or what ever you use is. Normally 3/4 way down tent. So near your plant maybe 2ft higher it's gona be a higher and more concentrated heat. Same principle for when you check the weather. The temperature is taken from the shade. But in your tent just down cool end. I made same mistake on the sweet cheese. It was 25 in cool end but actually under the light 20cm away it was 31. Hope this helps pretty high right now writing this. ✌️
although i don't have a lot of experience.. i have to agree with dabcrab man, where i live the ph of my tap water is just over 8.. how ever if i run the tap water through a filter it drops it to around 7.. so by the time i add the feed its pretty much sorted itself out , maybe worth giving it a try man. she is looking great though
pal, looking forward to seeing how she finishes
@the_connoisseur420, I just add some baking soda which is a mild base if my nute mix is too acidic. Usually just a pinch, 1/4 tsp per gallon brings it closer to 6.5 where it works better for my soil. I’m using ro water. I add Cal- Mag otherwise my plants show purple stems and other signs of magnesium deficiency.
@ganjaman94, yeah I normally use a brita filta which seems to be fine when in veg but as soon as I go onto nutrients it seems to go horibly wrong. Could be that my brita+nuts actually drop the ph too far (around 5.5) but to be totally safe I've gone for RO water mixed with a little tap to bring the ph up to around 6.5. Come to the conclusion I just can't trust the water. She does look to have responded well so far and this time I'll be checking the ppm with my shiny new ppm metre 😃
Man I have come back to look at this like 5 times today.. can't believe how frosty she is mate.. slightly envious not going to lie haha.. looks like you've done a smashing job to be fair bro
@ganjaman94, like budking said yours are definitely fatter and my baby looks good in the pics but in reality she stopped packing on weight around week 5 or 6. Probably cal mag deficiencies that I didn't correct early enough. Oh well at least I'll have some nice hash 😃
Hi my friend. Your plants are looking great. I have a problem and I need comments from friends with experiences.
I'm feeling that my buds are so small, maybe they're not but I think like that. The feathers have started to turn into.brown and I think the harvest time will come after 15 days.
Will the buds continue growing up at that time? For the last, can you say anything abou the harvest time? I have added a video to my diary today.
Best regards. 🤗🙏
@hiciste, I've never used the nutrients you're using In this grow nor any experience with this strain.
Couple of observations and tips for the future though. Seem to have a lot of popcorn buds which can takeaway valuable nutrients away from the tops and potentially slowing things down.
If you're growing for personal I would suggest less plants and maybe free up space for latger oscillating fan. Try using low stress training LST to keep an even canopy. After around 10 days of lights going 12/12 trim up lower bud sites.
Hope this helps
Just a couple of updates regarding my setup
Grow area is 1msq
Currently no carbon filter with 5"box fan and variac speed controller.
Due to outside temperature dipping below zero I have a small oil filled radiator and a heat mat just to keep the soil temps up during lights out.
Day 10 of switch and all is looking well, very bright and healthy looking leafs and no signs of discolouration.
Trimmed up a few popcorn nugs but nothing to drastic as this is a very stocky plant so light should make its way right the way down. Also LST should help
