This diary is mainly focusing on Quantum Kush, but there's also two Girl Scout Cookies phenos from Lineage Genetics seeds, rear and right, but those were not impressive yielders with my previous light (better with this light), although very enjoyable to consume. Looking quite healthy after switching from previous 250W Cree 5 x COB setup. Quantum Kush is very hungry/thirsty and seems happy with full strength nutrient quantities. Humidity is hard control in this location, with two dehumidifiers running it stays around 75 - 80 during colder months, not ideal during flowering. I can usually get four pots in here, but I had to put two Quantum Kush into one pot. Those two were very lanky and sparse during veg and didn't look nice at all, so thinking they might be males I put them both in the same pot for easy removal - these turned out to be female. I put a third Quantum Kush plant into its own pot, as it was very bushy and short compared to the other two. That one turned out to be male, so it had to be removed, hence the gaps in the corners of the scrog. Ideally, the whole screen should be filled with the plant's canopy, but once triggered to 12/12 light it's usually not wise to continue LST. Pay particular attention during flowering with the males. I was seeing stigmas on the females after two days, but the early flowers forming near the top of the male plant were too small to accurately determine its gender. It was several days after the female flowers had already appeared before I noticed a solitary male flower on the lower branches beneath the canopy that had already released pollen, so I may have a few seeds.

The plants were defoliated at the end of week 3, but not too much, as I've no experience with this strain and it's already quite sparse. Seem to be responding OK so far.

Some autumnal colours starting to appear. There are two QK phenos, both very similar in structure: 1. Used to smell of melons, but now smells more complex, with cheesy and earthy aromas, less dense branching, shorter buds, high density of stigmas and small calyxes. 2. used to smell spicy now smells more fruity and floral, more dense branching, taller buds, low density of stigmas and huge calyxes.

Some insist that Quantum Kush is lime green and if it isn't lime green it's not Quantum Kush. It depends on growing conditions, as these are clearly expressing their anthocyanins and are the only purple plants I've ever grown.

A lovely strain to grow, very resistant to mould and loves being fed - drank twice as much water as the other strains I was growing. Very lanky and sparse during early veg, but stretched evenly and not too high during bloom. It grows a like a vine, so works well in a scrog. Responds well to defoliation at the ends of weeks 3 and 5 during bloom. Both phenotypes were easy to trim, but one hardly required any at all, which is always a bonus. Very floral/herbal smell during final weeks. Buds are very dense, hard, frosty nugs.
