Planted March 26th, sprouted April 1st. Day 0: Planted seed directly into soil (FoxFarms Ocean Forest) and lightly dropped some water on it then added a plastic dome on top to increase humidity. Finally sprouted 6 days after planting. Day 1 (of growth): Finally popped through the soil! I was nervous because it was taking so long, however my seed was a year and a half old so I'm guessing that is the reason for the slow progress. Hoping for a smooth grow from here on out. Day 4: First set of fan leaves growing in nicely, keeping her under the dome until they grow in a bit more. Have only watered maybe twice since planting. I am using tap water PH'd to around 6. Day 7: She's really growing now, I see progress pretty much every morning that I've been checking on her. Her first set of fan leaves are getting big and the perpendicular set are also poking through the main stem and will be growing in shortly. Very happy with how the week turned out, I was nervous when she didn't germinate as fast as I had thought she would but it looks like we're in for a successful grow nonetheless.

Day 11: Really starting to see the growth take off now, I've been watering tap water PH'd to around 6.0 every 2 days or so. Only adding enough to saturate the soil, no runoff. Day 13: Nothing to report on, plant still growing strong. Can't wait to start LST in another week or so.

Day 17: Third node site is starting to develop, I'll give it another week or so before I start LST. Still feeding tap water PH'd to 6.0 when needed, I plant to start some liquid nutes at around week 4 to allow the nutrients already in the soil to be depleted. Day 21: 3 Weeks in and she's looking great. She is short but looks like she's gonna be chunky too especially with LST. I started LST today just tying the main shoot down, I think I could've waited another couple days to start but why not. Used pipe cleaners and binder clips.

Day 23: Plant still growing fine and is responding to LST well, I readjusted her this morning in order to expose more of the lower growth. Day 25: Just watered for the first time with Fox Farm nutes. I am using the fox farms nutrient schedule, but I am taking the strength down a bit. For this feeding I did half strength of what the product says to use for this stage of growth. I used 4mL/gal of Big Bloom and 4mL/gal of Grow Big. This is my first time ever using any sort of added nutes so I am excited to see what happens. I also have been readjusting my LST daily and today is the first day that I am starting to see pay off. The canopy is getting flat and the plant is taking the shape that I was hoping for. I am making sure to tuck the big fan leaves out of the way for the smaller node sites to get proper light. Day 27: Adjusted LST again and added another tie down, she seems to be responding well Day 28: Fed at 1/2 strength again today and turned on my flowering light. I now have both growth and flower lights running, I will switch to just flower after she stretches.

Day 30: She is moving right along popping more pistils and continuing to grow. I believe she is responding well to the LST and nutes, although I seem to have accidentally splashed a few of the lower fan leaves when watering with nutes, thus giving them a brown/orange spotty smear type of look in some areas. I'm not too concerned as the upper growth looks healthy and great. Today I added more pipe cleaners to further train the shoots away from each other to open up the canopy a bit more, as well as took off a few of the larger, lower level fan leaves that were just sitting in the soil and blocking node sites. I have marked this week as veg because she is in preflower, but will mark next week as the start of flower. I am still feeding every other water with 1/2 strength FF Trio nutes, but I think I am going to back off on them in case the orange spots are nute burn. I will switch to just Tiger Bloom nutes in a week or two if the plant seems to be healthy. Day 32: Fed normal PH'd tap water today as I want to let her chill for a bit if she is in fact experiencing a problem. I've been taking 1 leaf off a day (I'm overly nervous about stunting her lol). She seems to be doing just fine and is still developing healthy upper growth. I also mixed up my next nute batch for next week which I'll list here when I feed her. Day 34: After asking some other growers I decided to bite the bullet and really take off a bunch of fan leaves. I think this will really benefit the plant in the end. I took off almost all of the large veg leaves and made sure that light could penetrate through the canopy to all of the bud sites that are developing. I also fed 1/2 strength Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom nutes today that I had mixed up prior. Lastly, I adjusted LST to pull all the shoots away from each other and open up the canopy.

Day 37: Plant seems to be responding well to the bloom nutes, no deficiencies or anything showing. She is still stretching and growing more pistils. I also fed her plain PH'd water. Day 39: I really have no complaints about this plant, she's super easy to grow even as a beginner. I've been taking a few fan leaves off every other day or so as I notice them blocking bud sites. I'm pretty proud of my first ever LST job and the results are pretty much how I imagined them. Her canopy is nice and open and spread out and I can already tell which colas are gonna be the biggest. Day 40: Watered with nutrients today, half strength Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom. Did some minor defoliation once again as I'm continuing to try and open the canopy and get rid of any big fan leaves that will take growth away from bud sites. Day 41: Nothing to update today! Everything going smoothly. Day 42: Fed a liter of Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom, same ratio. Readjusted LST as well. She's starting to smell dank! The aroma is very skunky and gasoline-like.

Day 44: I'm noticing a bit of leaf clawing so I'm going to hold off on the nutes for another watering. Up to this point I've been feeding nutes every other watering, and my last feeding I gave her more water than normal. When she needs to be watered again I'll stick to straight PH'd water for the next watering or so. She still seems to be stretching which is nice to see but she's keeping up her bushy shape. I'm also noticing a slight bit of purple coloring on some of the fan leaf stems but only ever so slight. I'm hoping her buds have a bit of that too! Just a little smell update, it's getting stronger and smells like gasoline. Day 46: Watered with normal PH'd tap water today, no nutes. Hopefully this relieves some of the N toxicity that she seems to have. I also adjusted LST again. I probably could have clipped off the really small popcorn buds from the bottom of the canopy but I decided to leave them. Day 49: Watered again with PH'd tap water just to make sure I've flushed some of the nutes out of the pot. I will mix up a new batch of nutes for next feeding but I'm gonna tone down the amount.

Day 50: Finally got a jewelers loupe to see the trichs, super cool! She's getting frostier by the day. I will probably feed tomorrow seeing as the soil is still a bit damp today. Day 52: Fed plain PH'd water again today, really trying to make sure I don't over feed. I mixed up some nutes at a lower strength this time and will feed next time she needs to be watered. That will probably be her last feeding before I start to flush. Day 54: All good, smelling really dank. Day 55: Fed 2 liters of Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom today which will be her last feeding. I noticed some leaves starting to fade colors so hopefully this will be a last little boost of growth for the next 2 weeks or so before I chop. From here on out I'll just water PH'd tap water. I'm thinking that she's gonna need at least 2 more weeks before I even think about harvesting. There are a handful of amber pistils on her main cola but none anywhere else, and the trichs aren't even all cloudy yet.

Day 57: Week 9 here we are! It's been a really fast 9 weeks if I must say. This girl is looking super happy still aside from her leaf clawing. I just received my Mars Hydro T600 in the mail today and installed it so she can bask in its glory. I'm going to run both my cheap 300W LED and my T600 at the same time to try and really fatten up her buds. Looking forward to the next few weeks! Day 58: She seems to be loving the new light! I'm now running both my older 300W LED on flower mode and my new TS600. I fed plain Ph'd water today as the soil seemed dry. Day 60: Watered again, she drinks a lot! Starting to see more amber pistils on the lower buds. I'm thinking about 2 more weeks. Day 61: The fade is starting I think (I hope)! I'm starting to see more orange pistils. I also fed PH'd water today again. She really drinks quick.

Day 63: The fade is really starting to show now. More pistils are turning orange, however the trichomes aren't quite there yet. Getting excited! Day 66: All good still, just fed 2 liters PH'd tap water. I've been taking off the dead/yellow dry leaves as they develop. Hoping this doesn't stunt the plant too much and instead helps her finish strong.

Day 69: Almost at the 70 day mark! I'm getting anxious on chopping her, just don't think I should yet. I still see a lot of white pistils especially on some of the lower smaller buds. I'm going to be patient though and let her go a bit longer. I watered again with plain PH'd tap water yesterday. She's been getting watered every 3 days or so. Day 71: Ok so remember when I said I was going to be patient? Yeah... I harvested :)

I had an absolute blast growing, learning, and adapting to this plant. With that said, there was not much effort on my part honestly. The genetics are incredible. This was my first time growing Mephisto but I had high confidence going in seeing as I've heard nothing but good things about them. From seed to harvest, this plant really didn't ask for much. She was super tiny and bushy and I literally never had to move the light from seedling to harvest. She took nutes pretty well except for the fact that I overfed and caused her to claw, at which point I dialed back the nutes and she was fine. She hardly reacted at all to lollipopping and she seemed to thrive with the LST that I did to her. This grow was an absolute 10/10 for me. I wish I had made a grow diary for my first grow a few years ago because the results of this one compared to that were night and day. The only reason I won't give it a 10 star review is because it's my first Meph plant and I have nothing to compare her to. My last grow was different genetics.
