Day 30: She is moving right along popping more pistils and continuing to grow. I believe she is responding well to the LST and nutes, although I seem to have accidentally splashed a few of the lower fan leaves when watering with nutes, thus giving them a brown/orange spotty smear type of look in some areas. I'm not too concerned as the upper growth looks healthy and great. Today I added more pipe cleaners to further train the shoots away from each other to open up the canopy a bit more, as well as took off a few of the larger, lower level fan leaves that were just sitting in the soil and blocking node sites. I have marked this week as veg because she is in preflower, but will mark next week as the start of flower. I am still feeding every other water with 1/2 strength FF Trio nutes, but I think I am going to back off on them in case the orange spots are nute burn. I will switch to just Tiger Bloom nutes in a week or two if the plant seems to be healthy.
Day 32: Fed normal PH'd tap water today as I want to let her chill for a bit if she is in fact experiencing a problem. I've been taking 1 leaf off a day (I'm overly nervous about stunting her lol). She seems to be doing just fine and is still developing healthy upper growth. I also mixed up my next nute batch for next week which I'll list here when I feed her.
Day 34: After asking some other growers I decided to bite the bullet and really take off a bunch of fan leaves. I think this will really benefit the plant in the end. I took off almost all of the large veg leaves and made sure that light could penetrate through the canopy to all of the bud sites that are developing. I also fed 1/2 strength Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom nutes today that I had mixed up prior. Lastly, I adjusted LST to pull all the shoots away from each other and open up the canopy.
Wow - very nice grow! Following here since I'm going to use the same medium and nutes for my first ever grow. My ILGM seeds were majorly delayed so I am now waiting on my Meph seeds to arrive. Grateful in a way since ILGM's delay led me to try Mephisto which seems pretty solid!
You planted the seed directly in the soil - even before it germinated?
@@jcbud, For sure man, looks like you still got some solid seeds! The Youtuber I'm referring to is Mr. Canucks Grow. His channel is: www.youtube.com/channel/UCtU2-cpxx18iQ4BvracrxDQ
He grows a lot of plants and keeps a video journal for all of his grows both photo period and autos. Really informative channel for newbies like me. I was scared of using nutes with autos too (this grow is my first time trying it) but if you ease into it and make sure your PH levels are good then its really a breeze. If you still are hesitant, you can always use top feed nutrients meaning you sprinkle the nutes literally on top of the soil and proceed with watering normally. The grower in the channel I just linked you ONLY uses top feed nutes and has direct links in most of his videos to the nute line he uses. If I hadn't already had the FF Trio on hand I would've bought the nutes that he uses as it seems like top feeding is way easier and less stressful as a grower lol. Check his channel out for sure and let me know if you have any more questions :)
@DsTrees, it is what it is...COVID processing and April deals led them to sell out of a few seeds from my autopack so they're on their way now (I ordered on 4/10!). GTK about Meph. I might start with one ILGM and one Meph depending on when the seeds arrive. do you mind linking the YT grower or DM'ing me?
Thank you and def following your progress. I might go with MegaCrop for my nutes instead of dealing with liquid nutes...but I hear autos are pretty sensitive to nutes/nute burn so I'll prob just see how the FFOF works during the first 3-4 weeks.
@@jcbud, Ah that sucks man, ILGM has some good seeds too. Meph is simply the best though or definitely in the top tier of auto genetics. I opted to plant my seed directly into the soil, yes, before germinating. I follow a Youtube grower who uses the same method and never has problems with germination which is why I decided to try that method. If you are gonna go this route just make sure not to overwater and be gentle when watering on top of where the seed is buried as to not disturb it or dig it up. I'm having good success with this setup though and I consider myself a beginner for sure, so you're in for a good grow!
@@jcbud, After doing it for my first time this grow I can tell you I had the same feelings at first but once you make that first tie down it becomes really easy after. Just follow the general idea which is to spread out the canopy and make sure that outer shoots are being pulled away from the center of the plant. As for your question, I currently have 4 sides tied down on my plant but I started with 1. I just adjust as I need, sometimes I only needed 2, but now that the plant is more mature and has more shoots I've added more ties.
How heavy were you going on the Fox Farm trio? Did you use any CalMag? I'm about to pop some Mephisto Sour Crack so would love to know how they handle the nuties
@Randy_Custy, I was using about half the recommended ratio for the Fox Farms Trio. I didn't use any CalMag either. She took the nutes very well and I probably could've gone a little heavier on them but didn't want to cause any problems.
