Seeds arrived, put them in to water for 6 hours or so, then into paper towel for germination.
Using 5L fabric pots as I am new grower and want smaller plants.
Thus is my second grow, and in my first I managed 7g of crap. So I did more research and tried to improve for better results.
Such as;
Using fabric pots instead of plastic with poor drainage.
Doing more research
Sticking to a struck water schedule, as I overwatered a lot.
Checked the pH of my water (6.9). So now I can control nutes and pH better.
Planting into final pot with auto flowers.
So I mixed some John innes #2 and 25% perlite at the base of the pot about quarter. I the filled the pits with a mix of 25% JI#2 25% perlite 50% seedling soil. I then made a toilet roll tube size hole in the centre filled with 50/50 seedling soil and perlite.
29/3 Taproot showed so planted into center of the 5l pot.
1/4/20 seedling dropped their seeds, though is it just me or are they pale? Either way I'll count it as day 1.
Day 3, the seed had lost 1 of its leaves when's it's seed case came off. But both plants have time 1st leaves.
Day 6, well both plants doing ok. Under a 250 at night and in my yard on sunny days. 1st true leaves havr grown nicely though on leaf has a cut through it.
Day 7, both plants have tiny 2 leaves, the gum has started slower than the critical, but it had lost a leaf so to be expected.
BB gum doing ok, short and bushy compared to the BCN Critical.
Day 9, gave them each 2 litres of pH 6.5 water, continued growth.
Day 11, DEVASTATION.
Animal got to my plants while they were outside enjoying the sun. Aye a leaf on BB gum and pulled the critical straight from the roots. I transplanted it to a small pot to see if it survives but unlikely. I don't know how long she was out the soil. If she makes it I'll add her back to the diary.
I decided to put a Candy dawg into germination to replace critical.
Day 13, Blackberry gum doing ok. Like the growth over day 10-13,
No sign of candy dawg yet.
Day 15, first feed of nutrients @ 1/4 strenth.
Day 18, defoliated some of the biggest fan leaves and started LST.
Day 20, 2nd feed of nutes @ 0.5ml/l. Done some more lst.
Happy with the growth this week. Nice thick them and has responded well to traing so far.
Very bushy plant and happy with the growth, just starting to give of smells too i think. Also brought a cheap plastic greenhouse for them to go outside in. Spending roughly 8 hours a day in the sun weather permitting.
Day 23, 2nd defoliation and feed with nutrients. She been drinking like a champ. She has responded well to lst too.
Day 25, fed with plain water. Continued Lst.
Day 28, I think she is going into flower/pre flower next week so fed well with nutrients and defoliated her as well I took of lst.
As long as you want really. As long as the stems are pliable you can bend and tie them down. It is advised not to in flower but as long as your careful. Some times you need to!
Not really , 1st pistils are showing before/during the stretch and when the stretch is over the tops are starting to push pistils to slowly form some buds
Hi dude, if it's an auto in week 4 of life, let her be, needs to be as healthy and as happy as possible when entering flowering stage.
If it's a fem one, and plan on veging her for longer, you can remove lower growth
29, did some more lst and defoliation, Watered no nutrients.
Day 30, thanks to everyone that replied to my questions, noticed that I was slipping into bad habits of watering too much, and faffing about a lot. I just need to be patient!
Day 32, not been watered since day 29 so fed them Thier last veg nutes before switching to bloom to encourage the flower stretch, was dry soil too and looking a lot better than a few days ago.
Day 35 just letting her grow, feeding when needed.no more veg nutrients after today, quite a few pistils starting to pop up.
hoping for a bit more stretch, just a few inches and I'll be happy. would be nice in the next few days before she goes into full flower.
Just letting her grow and do her thing, more pistils every day.
Day 38, watered no nutrients she took roughly 2 litres.
Day 41, first feed of bloom nutes, hadn't realised she wasn't completely dry and ended up overwatering her. But been recovering well so far. Slightly readjusted her lst to help light get to the lower nodes.
Day 44, watered and left to grow.
Day 46, fed with bloom nutes did some lst, and had 2 stems practically horizontal. but a nice even canopy. Let them busites get some light.
Day 49, last feed that has veg nutes included. Wasn't gonna feed her anymore veg but she has some much light green this week I think she is still stretching.
Summary, been a good week of growth, bad week to f weather so spent a bit of time indoors. Decided I didn't like the way my plant was starting to grow in a spiral so i loosened her up and re trained to the shap I had before.
As I can't make my mind up on how I LST her, I decided to leave her alone before I ruin something.
Day 56, did have much time this week, and been a hectic one.
A deficiency has shown I thought was P, but not sure.
Greenhouse then feel over with my plants and snapped a branch almost all of. Holding it up and hoping for the plant to heal itself.
She seem to be quite stunted by that fall and haven't seen any noticeable growth since. Also cx recommends a week of just bloom nutes and the plant had 2 feeds of it this week.
Day 63,
No growth this week, haven't really noticed too much fattening either. Hopefully she'll start fattening so on though. Had 2 feeds of nutrients this week, watering nearly every day in heat we had combined with small pots.
Night 63,
Decided to do some light trimming of lower budsites and LST. Hopefully help drive all its energy into the top buds.
Still doesn't seem to be fattening, almost like she is stunted, I can see a deficiency but no idea what it is?
Come so far to mess it up now. Any help would be cool.
Hopefully she will turn out well.
If it happens on the lower/older leaves at the bottom of the plant and crawling upwards then its a nitrogen deficiency yes, but looking at it it has discoloration between the veins which makes me think it might be a calmag imbalance. Looking very good though ^_^
I'm hoping that it's just new growth, but I'm not sure. I see a few like it without pistils, but I don't see any seed pods. Any insight would be great thanks 😊
She has really bulked up this week like I hoped. Plenty of pistils popping up.
Also spent last 2 days in greenhouse 24/0 hoping to develop dome colour in the next few weeks.
Was meant to be a 75 day strain but here we are, Looking more like 100 days to me. But at least she still going and getting fatter each week.
Gave her usual feed of nutrients may even up the dose this week to help her fatten better, we'll see.
Just letting her grow letting the weeks pass by. So much for 75day life cycle XD
Happy overall, but hey he fattening had slowed a lot hopefully she be finishing up soon.
Not too much fattening going on this week sadly, but not seeing many white hairs left and almost all cloudy trichomes.
Unfortunately snapped a branch off that had an old wound by accident which wieghed 18.2g. few more days to a week and she should be ready to chop.
Also did a bit of trimming and cut of most fan leaves.
