Snapped main cola of 1 plant on day 32 during LST: lesson learnt, go easy on LST!
Tried to wrap it with tape, will see if will recover.
Kept working on LST every single day.
White pistils started came out everywhere.
Did some light LST.
Chopped the stem I snapped last week, it wasn't recovering.
1 plant starts showing signs of possible Calcium deficiency.
Did some minor defoliation (1-2 lower fan leaves per plant) to help air circulation.
Stooped LST.
Flowers started getting some weight.
The plant I snapped the main cola from started maturing faster than the other 3, fan leaves started turning yellow and dying.
Watered 1 plant with ph water only because it was showing signs of nutes lockout.
Even if the 4 plants are being grown under the same conditions, they show different features, colour shades and reaction to nutes, so I think that might depend on genetics.
Buds are getting fat and the smell is incredibly strong and pleasant.
However I noticed some minor foxtailing on all the plants, it seems to be genetic foxtailing.
With foxtailing and inconsistent development between the 4 plants, I'm not very happy with BulkSeed.
On the last day of the week I started flushing the plant that started maturing earlier (because I snapped her main cola while doing LST on week 4). Also I removed 4 smaller stems with popcorn buds, dried them and had a first and surprisingly good smoke.
Buds are nice and fat, except for some minor foxtailing. The smell is incredibly strong and reminds me of pine trees resin.
One plant will be harvested on week 10, the other 3 may need a couple more weeks.
1 plant got chopped towards the end of the week (after 48h in a box for darkness), got around 200g (wet) but that was the smallest plant.
1 plant got some more nutes while the other 2 started getting only water.
I did some minor defoliation on all plants to allow the light to get to smaller buds.
I noticed a reduction of the smell, not sure what that depends from, maybe there is just better air circulation now that there are only 3 plants in the tent.
1 plant harvested last week, got 46g (dry) and it's now in jars for curing and it smells already amazing.
The other 3 plants are nice and fat and I'm now only giving them phed water.
I chopped the second plant on day 81 from sprouting, but I decided to do it in 2 stages, to allow smaller buds to swell a bit more. I got 271g (wet) from the first stage harvest.
The second part of this plant and another plant will be chopped in a few days, while the fourth and last one needs some more time judging from trichomes and pistils.
I'm now watering only with phed water.
The product is good, a smooth yet strong smoke that keeps you up and energetic. However this is the first and last time I buy from BulkSeedBank: the buds aren't very dense, the plants were inconsistent with each other in the speed and size they grew up, they all presented different shades of colors and have different taste and smell. 1 out of 4 plants wasn't great in terms of smell and taste, which was disappointing. On the other side though, 1 of the plants (the one that turned blue-ish) smells and taste incredible.
Overall, the final yield was satisfying both in terms of weight and quality, so I'm happy for that!
Lessons learnt from my first auto growth:
1- Unlike what some people believe, autos are fairly easy to grow and they are rewarding in terms of final yield.
2- LED lamps are a great solution: although you have an higher initial cost, on the long term you will consume way less energy, in addition to reduce the risk of heat stress. I got 300g using a 150W LED lamp.
3- 4 plants in a 80x80cm tent can be difficult to manage. Although I haven't had problems with air circulation, getting to each plant for checks and watering was uncomfortable.
4- I used both Biobizz and Advanced Nutrients products, but next time I will only use products of the same brand as balancing different nutrients can get too complex.
5- I used 3 different methods for drying, but my favorite it's definitely the carton box.
Oh and i see your growing guerilla glue Auto from bulk seed bank.. Im doing their gg photo, have you grown them before or is this your first run of them.
@cocco_rmsp,That's unfortunate to hear hey since I can pick their seeds up for cheap lol oh well I'll keep an eye on on my girl thanks for the heads up hey damn.
@Rubob, this is the first (and last) time I grow something from them and I'm not impressed. I mean the buds look good and frosty, and the smell is incredible, but except for one plant, the other 3 gave me a lot of problems during the growth and they're foxtailing (first time it ever happened to me). I'm not saying I did everything perfectly, but this is not my first grow and I never had so many problems before. Plus the look and colour of the buds are inconsistent between the 4 plants, it's like I'm growing 4 different strains! I'm pretty sure the final product will be excellent, but next time I will go for some more problem-free breeder.
I am soooo jely about your full even canopy, wow really nice work growmie late to the party but I'll be watching and very curious about your weight you guna get there.
@cocco_rmsp,i haven't been fortunate enough to have experienced Hps light before hehe so i wont know yeah i love my lights im using now, the actual draw is abt 136w each if memory serves but they are awesome, hope you hit more than that bud looking foreword to the next update 🤘
@Rubob, thanks mate, I appreciate! Yeah the even canopy it's what I'm most proud of and LST was fun to do.
I'm curious too about the final yield weight, although I know it won't be huge since I'm using a 150W LED. However, I expect to get AT LEAST 50g dry, which for me it's a lot since I don't really smoke much and the pros is that with that light my electricity bill is nothing compared to using an HPS.
