The final piece to my perpetual harvest strategy... Blue Dream'Matic by FastBuds. She is growing in organically composted 'super soil', I have not added any additional nutrients.
From the pic of the overall garden my strategy is to have the 2 youngest plants in the middle directly below the CFL. The 2 plants in late-veg or early-flower on the right. And the 2 plants in late-flower on the left (under the light with more reds). The CFL will also act as some side lighting for the 4 older plants. So far everything is going to plan. 👍
Setup:
24x48x72 grow tent
1 Viparspectra V300 300w LED fixture
1 Viparspectra R300 300w LED fixture
1 CFL 100w (26w actual)
4” exhaust fan w/carbon filter 190cfm
6” clip on fan
Electric oil filled radiator behind air intake
Let the stretching begin!!! The pictures are from Tuesday and Friday. Bud sites are still small with only a small amount of white hairs. I'm expecting her to continue stretching for the next week, if the rumors are true she's gonna get much taller. Still have not fed any nutrients, she's only getting what is in the soil and water.
On a side note... My perpetual harvest concept does seem to be working, I have plants in various stages all going strong. But I feel like I'm running into some over crowding with 5-6 plants. I'm going to try staggering new plants on a 3 week interval and see if that helps me get to 3-4 plants at a time.
Blue Dream'Matic growing strong. Defoliated her this week and she bushed right back out again in a couple of days. Lightly fed some Espoma Organic Grow this week.
She seems to be in a friendly competition with the Auto Lemon, they have been battling back and forth to see who's taller. Fight all you want girls, I'll be the winner in the end. 👍
Gave her Recharge for the first time this week, she seemed to love it. She bushed back out again in a couple of days after defoliation. Bud sites are developing nicely. BDM is back-right in the group pics.
Blue Dream'Matic is going well the bud sites are starting to get fatter and fatter. I kind of expected this one to stretch more and grow larger, but she still has several weeks to go and I think the buds are going to be huge! 💪
Added Fox Farms Organic Big Bloom to the feeding this week with Recharge. Looking forward to the results.
Blue Dream'Matic is looking beautiful. The buds are getting fat and frosty 👍 She is a bit smaller than I expected since she is advertised as "XXL" but, I don't really care. These buds look tasty as hell!! I'll take quality over quantity any day.
Blue Dream'Matic is back-left in the group pics.
Fast Buds Blue Dream'Matic looking beautiful!! Buds are looking frosty as hell. 👍 She still has a few weeks to go til harvest. She is back-center in the group pics.
This girl is getting close, buds are fat, crystals are sparkling, hairs are orange and leaves are yellowing all over. Gave her Recharge only this week. As soon as I start seeing some amber trichs, she's coming down. Oh, did I mention she STINKS! 😄
BDM close as hell to harvest. Leaves are turning yellow all over the place, hairs are nice and orange, the trichs are milky white, but no amber at all yet. Gave her Recharge only this week in anticipation of flushing soon. 😉
Coming into the home stretch here. I've been flushing for a week, going to give her one more good watering then plan on harvesting this weekend. I still don't see any amber trichomes, but I don't want the dying leaves to cause any bud rot, so amber or not she's coming down this weekend. The smell is super STRONG!!!👍
Blue Dream'Matic was cut down on March 17, 2018. The pics are from just before harvest. I'll add a Harvest update on GD after she's dried. But I can tell you she smells sooo strong its incredible. Looking forward the smoke report! 👍
BDM came along lovely throughout the entire grow, but I think I blew it in drying/curing stage. I'm seeing small signs of mold/mildew on some buds (pops right out in the pics). I'm going to try making an alcohol based tincture with her. The alcohol should kill the mold/mildew.
On the plus side, the buds are nice and dense.
My fault here. I blew it at the end during dry/cure and she got some mold/mildew. Too bad she was looking and smelling lovely. Live and learn. I'll do better next time 😉
Recharge works!! Noticing nice results after 24 hours. Looking forward to seeing what happens after 48 hours! 👍
Will post pics with the next weeks update.
@DudeGrowsWeed, No problem dude. Glad I could be some help to a fellow grower. I always struggle with patience at the end lol. Then you remember still a few weeks to dry and cure 😂
Kewl system you have there with the lights and rotation for your perpetual harvest system. How many weeks apart do you stagger?
It looks like you use some type of watering port? Can you tell more about those, haven't seen that before
@Fun_Growin,Yes, very similar to a dog/cat watering bowl. Good analogy. I fill them based on the needs of the plant. I lift the plants to check if any feel light, then I will fill a spike for that plant. Plants in flower might need to be refilled 2 or 3 times per week. Seedlings might not need any
@Fun_Growin, I’ve been staggering on a 3 week basis lately and I think that will work out to be the ideal spacing based on the size of my tent.
I use watering spikes for my mid week watering. Nothing really special about them they screw onto bottle tops and then you place them in the soil. I was using ceramic watering spikes earlier on that were designed to work with wine bottles and I preferred those because the released the water more slowly and based on the dampness of the soil. But the ceramic started breaking so I switched to the plastic ones.
unlucky with the mould in the end I had issues with it on my grapegum and choc haze in drying also love the perpetual auto tent iv got the same thing going with mine but in 2 stages 4 week apart 3 in one side 3 in other nice work again
@biggreens420, I’m going to do a tincture for drinking. I’m planning on trying both alcohol and coconut oil for the tinctures. Kind of hoping I like the coconut oil better. But we’ll see.
@Germbucket, yeah they are very solid. Unfortunately showing small amounts of mold/mildew. Going to try making an alcohol tincture with this batch. I hear the alcohol should kill the mold/mildew
