Had only 1 of my 3 Sweet deep Grapefruits sprout. Also I had a single Gorilla from dinafem as well that didnt even pop. Just started a couple different breeders and these ones were the weakest seeds. Jus sayin'....
But i have high hopes!
Really rooting for this Sweet Deep Grapefruit though cuz i just realized its the only Indica Dom in my tent rn!
Started these in Jiffy Pots this time and then transplanted the sprout to a happy frog/coco blend.
This SDG started a few days behind the rest of my strains so its a lil small and prob only actually 1.5 weeks old here. Goin pretty good tho. Ive been possibly watering too often but i dunno. I thought you need to water coco more often but im usin a blend of fox farm and coco and it seems to hold water longer. I do have humidity high rn. thats prob why....
Topped this BB this week, those nodes are taking their time to really get going tho. Had some gnats attacking another plant in my tent so I put some yellow sticky cards in there.
This sweet deep is chugging along doin pretty good.
Alright, well this SDG Is doing well, Starting to catch up to the others in the tent and hasnt really suffered any from the mushrooms and fungus gnats that have been plaguing her sisters. Gave her the same Peroxide/Neem/sticky card/diatomaceous earth treatment regardless. Still battling the Gnats in there but its better....
Topped her again this week, so thats up to 4. Just put in a net today and gonna start working on the canopy.
This is my 2nd grow so ive got no beginners luck this time, with the diseases and bugs i've faced ill prob veg long this time....
Only 1 issue with this plant in particular. in my photos you'll see a janky leaf. Came in twisted and some of the leaves have an odd veiny/puffy look. Not sure what to make of it? Over/under watering? root rot? any insight is appreciated. is it worth a grow question?
Added some sand on the top layer. This plant hasn't taken much gnat damage, but i'm still getting a few adults on the cards here and there.
Did a peroxide drench this week, and added plantacillin from Future Harvest to the feed schedule in an attempt to repair any root damage from the larvae or fungus or whatever.
7 weeks is long enough and i feel like ive got the gnats down considerably. So, I'm going to flip to 12-12 so next week will be a flower week.
First week of flower and this girl taking flight. Starting to show signs of bud sites.
I did a full spray of neem oil emulsified with dr. bronners peppermint soap in preparation for flower cycle.
All systems are go!
All good this week.
I may have over or underwatered a bit cuz i was seeing a bit of droop but i wouldnt say it was a damp off.
Plant showed alot of bud growth this week so im happy with the progress.
Buds are developing nicely on this SDG.
Been battling the humidity especially on rainy days.
So I did some defoliation at the beginning of the week and added a bigger dehumidifier to the room that my tent is in.
My new dehumidifier puts off a bunch of heat plus its summer now, so keeping the temp down is becoming a challenge.
This grapefruit is blowing up tho. starting to pack on some size for sure.
Nice lookin plant right now. Smells good too. It’s a fight with heat and humidity in these summer months.
Seeing a bit of clawing and a tiny bit of leaf damage but, overall she look healthy.
Huge buds formed on her. Smells great, but I’m starting to see some leaf damage. Don’t think I’m over feeding since I’m using the manufacturers nute calculator. Although I never did a flush before flipping to flower...
It seems to be happening most around the largest buds. Maybe a deficiency?
Seems to be close enough to harvest that hopefully it doesn’t get outta hand.
Def having a hard time keeping the heat down. My dehumidifier makes heat plus it’s the middle of summer. That might be why I’m getting the claw happening.
Ahhh. It all happened so quick. Over the course of like 2-3 days all of the fan leaves and super leaves around my largest colas shrivelled up and died. It started at the tips and moved in from there.
I gave a flush because I’m worried it’s a lockout and it’s prob gonna need to be harvested a lil early.
Too bad this plant was looking nice and is holding a lot of beautiful buds.
I’m watching the leaf damage travel toward the buds like a wick burning on an explosive. When those sugar leaves reach a bud I’m just gonna harvest it.
Seems like it is effecting my largest tops first.
Been researching diseases and all that, but I’m thinking it’s just a deficiency. Or lockout....
I dunno what do you guys think. I’m just worried it’s a disease that could spread in my tent.
What do you think caused my sugar leaves and fan leaves to just start dying week 7 flower?
They are rusting from the tips inward at a super fast pace. Effecting the biggest colas at the top first and worst.
What kind of lights are you using? What is the wattage of the light and what is the distance the light is from the actual plant itself.
I had a 600 watt LED fecida light at 18 inchesnand it started butning the tips of my leaves first. It looked exactly like your pictures to be real with you. All i had to do to fix it though was move the light from 18 to 22 inches.
Usually calmag but it also happens if you flush. Most likely cause after that is too much N during flower. Only you, the grower, will know what's most likely of these, but I hope this is enough to solve your issue!
So I harvested this plant in 2 parts this week. I took the first half off that was having too much damage on the sugar leaves, and then the rest of the plant after. I did a wet trim on this plant to get rid of those ugly leaves. All dried up and curing now.
I was really concerned for a bit there I had a disease or something, but I think it was just a deficiency or end of life.
Maybe lockout.
Once the leaf was trimmed off these buds look and smell really good actually.
Sorta some creeper. Not really a quick rush on this stuff, which i sorta like since im prone to anxiety and get none of that from this... once it creeps in you are nicely baked though. kinda hazy.
Still though not super duper potent so its a good morning/daytime smoke.
Smells cheesy and a lil sweet.
Tastes like bitter citrus, maybe some cedar and has a bit of a chocolate aftertaste.
I prob wouldnt run this again. Ive got more fave strains for sure. Not bad tho.
Through all the early problems in my tent, mushrooms/gnats and all that this plant stayed strong and put on some big ass tops.
Just before the flush over about 3 days this plant started to die. and fast. had to harvest a bit before my other strains. Not sure what caused it. either a deficiency or maybe an overfeeding. coulda just been end of life. still unsure.near gave me a heart attack tho!
Surprisingly enough tho and considering it had the least flush, this strain has the whitest ash of all my strains this run.
@@Athos, I did give a feeding that was a high ppm around this time. It’s a bit confusing because I was giving the manufacturers recommended doses. And those doses ppm read higher than their own recommended ppm range... maybe you really need to pick and choose which nutes to give and when.
I have 3 other stains getting the same thing and the burn wasn’t that bad or there at all... guess this sdg isn’t as resilient as the others.
Also I learned on this grow I should really be doing a pre flower flush.
