So a little set back this week. Due to over watering the plant, school boy error! Managed to diagnose this before it became a major issue. I did think i was under watering at 1st but i found plenty of good advice on YouTube.

So this week I have swapped out the HID for an LED. This is due to the heat in the grow. Also fitted a small heater just in case the weather goes to pot again.

So I have been reading a lot online about defoliation. Some say do it some say don’t. Plant seems happy and flowers look to be growing well. Should I do it is it worth it?

The way your plant has grown, i don't think it'd help much. It;s more useful for a level canopy of numerous colas. you have colas, but they are out and about and in the "sun." So, all is well. It only helps if it doesn't reduce photosynthesis and provides light-energy to larger portions of plant -- while it can truck it aorund in the phloem, it is not as optimal to do so... in that case buds wil be smaller due to less access to resources -- even if is mobile in the plant. If you take off too much or reduce total amount of photosynthesis taking place, you will certainly hurt your yield. I've been successful and unsuccessful using it. One plant absolutely has outshone the previous clones by so much i can tell with my eye without a doubt. Another one, right after the successful one, i butchered and i think i have hurt it, even though it will bloom fine. The colas are not as deep, they are not as full along stem.

So week 8 things seem to be to going well as far as I know. Still toying with the idea of defoliation. Plant seem to be happy with the light change . Temperature has become a lot more manageable.

So we are nearing the end. Now there seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there on yellowing of leaves at this time. Some say it’s fine some say it could be hungry or lock. The bud still seem to be growing so not to sure what to do. I stopped feeding about 5 days ago.

what they say: https://www.dinafem.org/en/blog/best-time-harvest-cannabis/ Therefore, to decide on the optimal time to harvest, you'll need to confirm that... The resin production has peaked The flowers have stopped growing The secondary leaves have begun to lose colour, and most of the main leaves have fallen Observing the trichomes with a magnifying glass, most of them are milky white, and some are amber

purple leaves can be cooler temperature related -- which is causing issues with nutrients internally. It can also be a sign of over fertilization. As far as time to chop, depends on the trichomes. Get the 60x maginification out and look for a certain % being amber (google for wide variety of opinions on when is 'best', most agree it's a window and you'll have to apply some personal preference through trial and error). At the least, the information you glean gets you in the ballpark, and you fine-tune it to your preference. if you are in flush, expect detorioration of canopy to continue. If you flush, you want to make sure it is timed well so that it powers your buds development or you hurt yield. IMO, i'd say you have 2-3 weeks with an auto. You probably shouldnt be in flush, yet. Up the N portion a small portion to prevent yellowing too early.

With cannabis plants that have light burn, your leaves can sometimes become yellow or red/purple, possibly with brown spotting, often with burnt tips/edges and margins that stay green. Other problems, like nutrient problems, can trigger or make the symptoms of light burn a lot worse. Leaves may also appear generally burnt in places when there’s too much light, especially when combined with heat or nutrient problems.
