Sorry for the late post guys, life is bonkers atm. We are in the process of moving, so my time has been split thin lately. So, the pictures are a day or two into week 3, but they seem to be pretty split as far as performance. The 2 plants in super soil are kickin ass and are beautiful! Lots of foliage growth after defoliating beginning of week 2. The others... well I still love them, BUT... As you can see, the random bag sees looks terrible(best Charles Barkley voice). It’s growth has been very slow, it has not responded well to topping or defoliation. I’m just letting it grow and hoping it comes back with a vengeance. The other 2 grape punch not in super soil look much better than the random seed, but pale in comparison to their S.S. counterparts. I believe that these little white larvae have taken their toll on the other plants, where the SS plants were able to fend them off better, or that’s my best guess anyway. My neem oil arrived today, and I kept wondering if the SS was what made the difference for the 2 healthy plants. So here’s what I did. I removed topsoil from the 3 lagging plants until I saw roots. I then put maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick layer of SS in each plants pot and topped off with happy frog soil. Then I mixed 3 tablespoons of neem oil into a gallon of water and sprayed around 5 ounces of that solution all over the soil of each plant. I will be reapplying the solution every other day for the next week and check for larvae again. I’m hoping between the amendment of SS and neem oil, I can kill these things off and bring vigor back to the 3 plants. Any experienced growers that see glaring red flags I’m missing or have an easier way to do it, please lemme know!! I’d really appreciate it.

Is humidity dipping below 35%, and sometimes under 30%, likely to be a reason for slower growth on my plants, based off of my setup and info?

Hi :-) Yes, that can be related. In the vegi phase you should maintain a humidity of 56-64% :-) I hope I could help you a little.

One cola on each of the 2 recently topped grape punch plants in super soil have started growing 3 fan leaves per node. I believe that's known as a whorled flower?? Is this just an uncommon mutation, or something to be concerned about?

Nothing to be concerned about , once in full flowering the stems are growing in an asymmetrical way even if you have 3 stems per nodes. I had experienced that variations on some of my plants and most of the time the only problem is that they are more leafy than regular plants so the buds are a bit harder to trim. I don’t know the name of that mutation (edit : it is whorled phylotaxy ) Edit : It's important to note that whorled phylotaxy (plants growing three or four leaves/branches per internode) is not the same as polyploidy. The two terms are often confused. One reason for the confusion of the two ideas is that both refer to a 'doubling' of cannabis plants - genes in one case, foliage in the other. Polyploidism can only be confirmed through genetic mapping
