So this is a small test to see if i can handle such a small space grow and try out some grow techniques as well. :-)
20.04.2020 (4/20 I hope this is a good sign :P) - My sweet Lady was born
Day 2: Nothing special happens, humidity is low, tried with a cup filled with water but it doesn't really do a thing... will keep an eye on it. (Plant size ~3cm)
Day 3: Today I watered the pot with 160ml mixed with around 0.6ml root-juice, she seems to like it. (Plant size 3.5cm)
Day 4: Slowly growing..
Day 5: Still growing slowly, color looks healthy.
Day 6: Still a heathy color (plant size: 4cm)
Day 7: For the last day of the first week i decided to feed her some water mixed with Root-Juice, she still looks good. See you in next week. :-)
Day 8: Healthy and slowly growing. :) maybe in 1-2 days she will be ready for the 7l pot.
Day 9: I have no idea why those 2 leafs look like that... but overall she looks healthy so i won't do anything about it... but will keep an eye on it if it turns out to be something serious :)
Day 10: So today i decided to put her into the 7l pot... maybe it was too early, maybe not :) also i watered her 1l mixed with bio-grow+bio-heaven, I have the feeling that I have to give her more than 1l in such big pot... but we'll see. For the next days this could be enough.
Day 11: I thought I have to wait some days for her to recover, to see some changes but it looks like she grow a bit.
Day 12: She does fine, I will try to do some LST work tomorrow.
Day 13: So today I did a little LST, it looks so easy... but I was afraid to damage her... but i am practising so its fine :-)
Day 14: Today morning I gave her 2l water mixed with Bio-Grow and Bio-Heaven, first I thought it was to much because of her leafs but she looks good now.
Welcome to the 3rd veg week. This is the last week befor flower since I don't know how much she will stretch during flowering.
Day 15: So today I tried to do some more LST, she is so small and bushy that I am afraid to break something lol and to be honest... this doesn't look right but now I have less parts covered by shadows.
Day 16: Looks like this Plant is to strong for my LST preperation... I should build something more stable for the next time. I removed the previous LST wires and did it again with something more (hopefully) more stable. Since the plant is so small and bushy I should cut those fan leafs because some of those side branches doesn't get so much light... but I am not a fan of cutting away things so I will leave it like this and hope for some stretch while LST them to the light.
Day 17: I started to do some LST to those Fan leafs since they steal all the light... I hope this gonna work. The Photo of today looks a bit strange because I took it right after the LST stuff (in 1-2h she will look great again), overall the plant is still healthy and since last time I dont have to water her. I believe she won't need water for the next 2-3 days. It would be awesome if she makes it till monday, so I can give her some Bloom nuts as well. :-) The only strange thing I mentioned was a small wet spot on one of those leafs, i have no idea where this came from.
Day 18: Today I did nothing just watching how she is doing, seems good. :-) But I noticed on two leafs at the top that their leaf points are yellow, will keep an eye on it.
Day 19: In the morning I gave her around 1l clear water and it looks like she had a good stretch in 12h.. The right fan leaf has something like bites on it... but I can't find any invaders so I hope its something else...
Day 20: I made some changes to my messed up LST setting, it sucks that I wasn't well prepared for this... but now I have to do the best out of it and learn from my mistakes. Overall she still seems to be fine. (got a new app to make better pictures, looks great :-))
Day 21: Last veg-day, tomorrow I'll start 12/12 and I am excited to see how she will develop. I damaged a fan leaf by mistake, hope she'll be fine :-( I will feed her tomorrow with some tasty new nutes and hope she forgives me that mistake. :-D
See you next week
Welcome to the first week of flower!
I mentioned that I gave her the wrong nutrient schedule, so I gave her only 50% of Bio-Grow from what I should since I use the light mix but nevermind.
Day 22: Nothing special, I gave her 1.5l water mixed with Bio-Grow/Bloom/Heaven and Top-Max, she looks great and smells like a plant.
Day 23: I read alot about Defoliation lately... and that those wet spots on the leafs are caused by high humidity inside the plant which can cause mold later on, so I decided to cut away a couple of those fan leafs. First grow, first LST why no first defoliating? ;-) I already made a couple mistakes so I can use this one now for training myself. So befor I went to work I gave her a new haircut, and I will give her one more after 3 weeks when the flowering stretch is over. I cut off the most in the morning after I came home i cut a couple more and I will leave it like that now. I hope this improves the airflow. She still looks good in my opinion.
Day 24: Overall I would say she looks good and keeps growing. I saw some root-tips coming out of the top, I have no idea if this is a sign for anything, but to be sure I put some fresh medium on top, thats how I messed up my Box a little. Guess I will feed her in the next 1-2 days since I took away almost her whole household :D
Day 25: I mentioned yesterday befor the light shut off that there are on most leafs yellow/brown tips. After my panic attack ended I did some research and found out that this is probably a nutrient overdose. Looks like I gave her bloom and top max way to early so I will give her tomorrow morning only clear water and hope it gets better. I can't tell if there is a difference between yesterday and today.
Day 26: Today I gave her 2l clear water, the problem doesn't seem to spread... looks more like she is only building new/bigger fan leafs... If she doesn't stop I have to cut off a couple sooner than I wanted. But for now she is doing well.
Day 27: Nothing special, she is going her way.
Day 28: I hope she wont be mad at me, but I had to cut off a couple more leafs. Those two fan leafs at the top were blocking to much light and airflow so I had to deal with them, even if they looked pretty cool. I have only limited space and one plant, so I don't want to risk anything. Can't see any signs of pre-flower since the light changed to 12/12. Weather is getting better next week, I hope the soil will dry out a bit so I can feed her with some fresh nutrients.
So from now on I decided to change to a weekly summary instead of a daily update, as long as I don't face any major problems I can't solve.
So see you growmies next sunday. :-)
Are there any ways to do this in a Low-Stress type? Would a late ScrOG net help to keep the stretch small? LED -> Plant distance is currently (week 5) ~34cm (~20cm left befor she might suffer from lightburn). LED is not moveable. Plant itself is healthy.
if you're vertically limited, and the stems aren't too thick that they will be difficult to bend (without breaking) then yes, you can still do a scrog at this point. Obviously it's still better to do during the veg-phase, but if there's no other way out and you'd hit the lights during the early-flower stretch, then that's how it is.
happy growing!
So welcome to week 5, by a mistake I lost all my notes from this week so I can't give you a complete day by day review... sorry
Day 29-32: Beside Day 32 there is nothing much to say, she stretched for about 1cm, temp. was raising and pot was drying. :-) At day 32 I fed her with 2l water mixed with some fresh nutrients and discovered something which could be the first pistils?
Day 33: Nothing to say, nothing to worry about. She's doing great. She got bigger, for now 22cm total height which is good, but also bad for me since my box is very limited, if she stretches for more than 10cm i could face some problems with the light since I can't move it. I tried to bend the main stem a bit more, but at this point I am too afraid to break it... and I don't want to throw 5 weeks into the trash.
Day 34: I build a fast-low-budget ScrOG net and installed it, I should have done it earlier but I simply underestimated the stretch. The main stem made around 5cm in less than a week and I'm vertically limited. So I could bend her from around 22cm height to 16cm with a light to plant distance of 32cm, now she has around 17cm space befor I might get into lightburn problems. Maybe the side branches can now follow up as well.
Day 35: She's doing great since the new setup yesterday. I discovered more pistils, mostly at the main stem so I'd say that she opened the "pre-flowering door". **UPDATE**: I changed a bit, I removed the wire that were pulling down the main stem to the net, and placed it directly under the net. Guess it worked fine I haven't hear anything break or something, I saved some more cm height and it seems more stable than the wire one did since my scrog net is build with elastic material. I also made the squares on the left smaller, that the net lays upon the stem and not the leafs.
I saved 5cm height, but I'm still nervous about the stretch. Nevermind... I hope this goes well, somehow. :-)
I'll stick to this week 1 nutrients schedule and hope she hits the flowering stage by the end of the 3rd week so I can move on.
I wish you all good luck and happy growing, see you next week.
Welcome to week 6
Day 36: Today was feeding day, 2l mixed with fresh nutrients, shes doing fine, ScrOG was a good idea. Highest point at the moment is around 15cm.
Day 37: Nothing special, she's doing fine.
Day 38: She is not doing much, just growing.
Day 39: The only thing I can tell at the moment is, that she is growing she had a good stretch (around 7cm yet), no signs of flowering yet. Soils is still wet so there is no need to feed her right know.
Day 40: I don't know really what to say because she is not doing much besides of growing. The Pistils are getting larger, good sign? I guess so :-)
Day 41: The Soil seemed pretty dry, like from one to another day... so I fed her today again with 2l but I raised the Schedule. As long as she doesn't show any kind of overdose I will now stick to the given Schedule. I also discovered a couple leafs which looks like they got eaten by something, but I can't find any insects (even under the leafs) maybe it is some kind of deformation because she runs out of available space? Overall she looks healthy.
Day 42: Today I defoliated the 2nd and last time, maybe a bit too radical? :S However, I will post a Update picture in a couple hours before the light turns off, I guess the top leafs will get some yellow tips because of this. While cutting the taken leafs into small pieces it smelled somehow Skunky/Diesel, while the small bottom branches had a decent citrus smell, I'm really excited about the smell when she goes into full flowering. Also I inspected all leafs for any kind of invaders, since I took leafs from almost every part of the plant I should have found anything, but I haven't, so I guess its some kind of deformation on those couple leafs.
UPDATE: She seems to be very happy, she even stretched for about 1cm.
She is still doing her thing, no bigger problems till now. See you next week, hopefully this time with some kind of a Bud. :P
Welcome to week 7
Day 43: So it seems like She is really happy about the defoliation. I also discovered some kind of mutation on one side branch, At the beginning it was one branch but it somehow split into two, tried to make a picture of this, not that easy because I can't move her around. Pretty strange.
Day 44: She's doing fine, will keep the soil dry over night and feed her tomorrow morning.
Day 45: Soil was pretty dry so I watered her today with 2l, shes doing fine but grows to fast, less available space day by day, hope that she will stop that soon. Flower started as well, looks really nice.
Day 46: Overall she seems to be fine, but she is growing to much which is a problem, the main stem is to stiff to bend it around anymore. I also saw a couple more leafs with bitten spots, but the hell... I can't find ANYTHING so I'll leave it as it is...
Day 47: She is doing fine, just don't want to stop growing...
Day 48: Nothing special, She's doing fine.
Day 49: Today was feeding day, 2l water as always. Its getting harder to make photos. The last days were pretty cold, but she is fine and she starts slowly to smell more (at the moment when you get close to the young buds) and it smells really nice.
Thats it, see you next week!
Could this come from any stress? like nut. overdose after/while defoliation? or wrong PH? Because I can't find any flies/bugs which could eat my plant. I count 6 leaves which are "infected". Should I cut them off? And is it recommended to use neem oil at this point?
Could be you knocked them with some scissors or nails when trimming or defoliating. I'm not seeing evidence of real pest dmg. It's not suggested to use neem oil the last 3-4 weeks of flower. You can do a wash when you harvest if your worried. Happy Growing! 👊
Welcome to week 8
Day 50: Nothing special, just growing.
Day 51: The Soil dries really quick, 10cm distance to the LED... but at the moment she still looks nice and happy.
Day 52: Today is feeding day, this time I reduced the Bio-Grow by 50%/l. I don't know if this will helps to slow down her growth but I will try it till the next watering. Overall she is still happy.
Day 53: She is happy, and some of those buds are getting frosty. The smell is still weak, but very nice and tasty!
Day 54: Nothing, I cut away a couple leaves which were blocking the light for the buds. She stretched damn close to the LED, but seems to be fine at the moment.
Day 55: Nothing special.
Day 56: Today I watered her. Looks like she doesn't grow so much anymore and for 7cm distance to the LED she is doing pretty good. The smell is weak but very nice, can't wait to smoke her. :-)
See you next week!
Welcome to week 9!
Day 57: Nothing to say, she's doing good but seems to be thirsty af...
Day 58: Nothing special, she started to smell a bit more :) really nice!
Day 59: Feeding day! I raised the Bio-Grow to its original value, just to see if she starts growing again or not. At the moment she doesn't seem to grow anymore. She has around 6.5 cm before she can touch the sun... but doesn't show any signs of lightburn or anything.
Day 60: Nothing to write about, she is doing really great.
Day 61: Doing great, soil is dry guess I'll feed her tomorrow. Good thing, she doesn't seem to grow anymore but the buds getting bigger :o)
Day 62: Feeding day! Nothing more to say, she's doing great.
Day 63: nothing to mention.
See you in week 10.
Welcome to week 10!
Day 63: Nothing to say, she's doing great.
Day 64: Feeding day, days are getting warmer too. She is doing great and she started to smell more.
Day 65: Nothing to mention.
Day 66: Nothing
Day 67: Feeding day.
Day 68: Nothing
Day 69: Just doing her thing and smelling nice while doing it.
One more week is over, and also one more week closer to harvest. She smells nice and I can't wait to smoke it!
See you next week!
Welcome to week 11
Day 70: Feeding day, otherwise nothing really to say.
Day 71: Nothing.
Day 72: Nothing.
Day 73: Feeding time!
Day 74-75: Wasn't home to take a pic. Found a dying leaf at the lower part of the plant.
Day 76: She's fine, took a shot of those Trichomes even if she has at least 22d left, but my microscope for this is bad, but somehow enough.
Day 77: Feeding time today, she is still busy building up those nice buds. She has a nice smell, bit like citrus, very nice.
So thats it, see you next week!
Welcome to week 12!
Since I had less time this week I'm not going day by day, just making a quick summary of the week.
There is not much happening at this stage, Buds getting fatter day by day.
I feed her on Day 80 and 83 and she is doing great so far, smelling really delicious.
I also will start watching the trichomes by now and I will try to make some pictures as well.
See you next week.
Welcome to week 13!
So this week she was doing fine, a couple leaves at the bottom died, here and there I read that at this stage it is normal?
I fed her twice this week, day 86 and day 89 this was the last time with nutrients, coming week I will only give her clear water.
Buds getting slightly bigger, but that might be only looks like that.
More Trichomes turning milky and yellow-ish, its hard to tell because my microscope isn't that good, but I guess it works out somehow.
When everything goes well than next week will be the last week and Sunday will be harvest day (I really really hope, can't wait)
Ok i believe that is all about this week, see you next week.
Harvest is scheduled for Sunday, they look good to me but i am also a very impatient person. I made a couple shots from today (current week is not published yet and different buds), what do you think? Harvest or add a week?
Hey friend. Harvest totally depends on what u want. U like it a little bit more uplifting or some more couch lock? I like to aim for 50/50 clear and amber. U can always harvest in parts if u think some buds are more ready then other ones. As other users say one week extra can't do any bad things since a lot of trichs are still clear. Just check them everyday and decide for yourself what u prefer. You're almost there, one week extra isn't that long anymore 😉
As Race91 said, there are a lot of clear trichs still, yet on the other hand, I see a good amount of amber too. You’re in the harvest zone and it wouldn’t hurt to chop, but if it was me, I’d add a week to let those clear ones ripen up.
Welcome to week 14
I stopped feeding nutrients and she gets only water right now. Watered her on day 92 and 96, next time will be tomorrow.
I decided to give her another week, the microscope i am doing photos with is bad, I have another with better quality but cant make pictures with.
Some buds are more ready than other but all in all she looks good, and i believe that extra week will make her ready for harvest. When things turn out good, I harvest next sunday. ( I ran out of weed)
Then I will share some photos of the mutated stem, it looks somehow weird but cant take good photos right now because of the space.
See you next week!
Welcome to the harvest!
She looks very good to me, so I decided to harvest her. It hurts a bit.
I missed 2 days, so thats why there are no pictures.
I watered her on day 99 and Day 102 and left her the remaining days.
The Growbox was a solid purchase, expensive but plug & play, stealthy and really quite. After a couple more grows gaining more experience I might even get a higher yield (I hope) but I am happy with what I get out, at least its clean!
I wanted to Wet-triming but half way through I decided to just cut off most leaves and do the detailed one when dry.
Max weight (before triming): 455g
Max weight (after triming): 317g (picture)
Dry weight (after 5 days): 69g (maybe around 20g? What do you guys think?)
I smoked the scissors hash i got during the trim action, it has a nice and sweet smell with an also sweet taste and a bit of citrus, it gave me an nice high.
But I will test it again when its dry in my first real joint :-)
I will update this diary as soon as everything is dry and tested.
Thanks for following me on this journey.
As soon as this ones dry I will prepare my little Box for a new run, with a different strain. An experimental one. :-)
Stay safe everyone, and keep growing!
#Update:
So after 5 days it was dry, really fast, maybe too fast, i couldn't control the humidity and the last days were pretty hot and dry (28°C inside the box and around 30% humidity) I put them into my curing glasses with a boveda pack and hope it can safe it anyhow.
The outcome is HUGE!!! I didn't expect that to be honest!
I had alot of buds, and also many small ones, i put the smallest into my trim box and make some nice cannabutter tomorrow. The rest is inside the glasses, and one is grinded into pieces to fill my bong.
I can't tell much about the taste, it doesn't taste somehow special, but the smell it leaves in my room is awesome! Its sweet with a bit of citrus in it, whole better than everything I got before.
Hope you all liked it as much as I did, my 2nd run is almost germinated :-)
See you than, stay safe!
